His growths are pretty good for an axe user (50% STR, 40% SPD), and enemies in the game are generally slow (Did you know base Dozla doubles Lyon in the final chapter? Yeah.). Which further cements Lyon's status as the worst penultimate boss in the series (at least, I always thought that he was such because he's so easily doubled; unit wise, he's essentially Nergal with less Con and a weapon that's so heavy it slaughters his AS). I'm not seeing it since he's slow enough to be doubled by pretty much everyone, which you can't say of Nergal. Sure, Lyon hits harder than Nergal does, but that's about it. The point is that Lyon's stats are generally similar to Nergal's, but Nergal isn't mega-slow to the point where everyone and their grandma can double him (granted, 14 AS isn't exactly a speedster, though). And the game gives you a forced character that can kill him easily; FE8 doesn't. Lyon is also surrounded by Gorgons and a bunch of other heavyhitting monsters; Nergal's got like a Sage and a Druid around him that suck. Charging Lyon head on and not killing him right away also gets you Bonewalker reinforcements getting in your way for a long time even if they suck. Both of you essentially brought up something I conceded already (Nergal not being fast). @BBM: If you ask me, the fact that Lyon's flanked by Gorgons is minor since I wouldn't engage someone who can 2-shot nearly everyone I'm using as long as they have nearby backup - that's just tactical suicide.
