Sprite Forum Guidelines

Below are recommended guidelines for participation in the Sprite Forums. These are meant to facilitate interpretation of the Serenes Forest Code of Conduct as it pertains to this particular sub-forum.

1.Respect others.

a. Giving and getting critique is a valuable part of this sub-forum, coming in various forms and ranging in content from positive (…was done well…) to negative (…wasn't done well…). At times critique and its effectiveness can be contested, and this sort of conflict is natural, but avoid drawing it out longer than needs to be done (particularly if it’s causing excessive clutter/effect to a thread that’s not your own).

Those looking for critique should be comfortable in specifying their preferences/limits, and when they’ve had enough, if needs be. By default, submissions in organized events are limited to only positive feedback, and submissions outside that are open to any type of feedback (unless specified by the artist).

b. Don’t spam requests. This includes derailing a gallery thread with an unsolicited request and/or broadcasting private messages (PM’s) across multiple members. Singular instances are permissible within reason. If you have a resource need to fulfill, create one public thread with as much information pertaining to the request as possible. Be respectful of other’s time and understand acceptance is on a volunteer basis and the community has no obligation to fulfill any request.

c. Don’t steal other artist’s work. In part or in whole, non-permitted reuse of user content is disrespectful to the source artist and the time they spent creating the material. Anyone caught doing so will be given a verbal warning and request to remove the work. Repeated acts of burgling can result in increased severity of consequences.

Thread Maintenance and Oversight:

a. The host of a competition (or any event) is the one in charge of the rules and processes of their event.

b. The owner of a thread has the option of removing disputes from their thread (within reason) or locking/unlocking their thread for whatever reason by PMing a section moderator with the request. Owners should understand that they or the mod performing the maintenance may need to add a precautionary statement in addition if appropriate.

Staff Help Section:

The following are the section moderators of the Spriting and Competition sub-forums:

Ghast

Eclipse

If you have any issues or concerns regarding the forum or actions within it, you can:

- PM one of the above mods or Tangerine (forum administrator) directly regarding the issue. You should receive a response within a reasonable amount of time.

- Use the Report button (located at the bottom right of posts and member profiles). In this case, you may not receive a response but the issue will be addressed.

Got the okay to update the boilerplate, it combines things from both Ghast's and eCut's versions and adds a few notes on mod help services that I think most people didn't realize was available.

Pretty open to discussion on it, as far as I know it's okay to pin, but if anyone feels any changes need to be done feel free to let me know (either here or privately).
