Yeah there were several things I noticed in that emblem. Like how the gems don't perfectly match the colours of either Awakening or Mystery of the Emblem. But that medallion caught my eye right away.

I lean more towards the post Kaga era. While I do believe that FE 4 and 5 have the best stories. I just overall enjoy post Kaga era more. They fully fleshed out gameplay, and the games feel similar.

I do let's plays, Fire Emblem Hard Mode is pretty common. But the quality changes from videos as they progress. Like the worst mic imaginable until like part 17 of my RD. Shoutouts to the Blue Yeti, that thing makes me sound so much better

You're in for a real treat. The game is a ton of fun, it often gets called the worst of the gba. But its my favourite, hell i'd even argue it has the best story of the gba ones. Gameplay wise yeah its certainly more difficult, but on Normal Mode its pretty tolerable and not as bad as some make it out to be.

[Is it just me or are a lot of units really useless in this game?]

The cool thing about Book 2 was how some of your former friends were now your enemies. The remake gutted most of that, and while I still generally like the Shadow Dragon feel of everything (vicariously reclassing units is a lot of fun) I thought those decisions made the story a lot less compelling. By all rights the people of Macedon should have had Michalis hanging from a rope.

Mind you I only played the remake in Japanese but I've heard that disappointment with the story presentation is a fairly common complaint.

I dont think the story is terrible. It just has had a lot of effort put into it excluding the fan translation added stuff, its more refined. But at the same time the new stuff didn't quite smooth into the refined content they added. Just my opinion but I think the story is better written in 12 than 3. The biggest complaint for the most part is MU's involvement which to some just killed the feel.

[If You Could "Revive" a Game Series, Which One Would You Choose?]

Streets of Rage. I love the series so much. And its one of the ones I would really push for Sega remaking or creating something similar. Also Alex Kid you know Sega's original mascot. It be nice to see them remember that series.

[How Did You Get Into Fire Emblem]

I err started with Awakening. I tried the demo and I thought it was really fun. So about a month later I bought the game. I remember I loved it for its depth of characters, tho I really don't care for them now. Then after it I tried emulating 7 and that took off from there and now I've played them all except Fates.

[Glitch? Enemy Sniper promotes to Shinon lookalike]

Oh yeah I had that happen once. It happens when a unit would promote off of his attack but instead it glitches and he promotes. As long as he doesnt run out of ammo he wont bother you. Also he gives some really nice exp if I remember correctly. I had this happen on a friends easy mode file. I actually plan to capture it on footage on my LP. For reference what mode are you playing on?

2 might feel a little outdated for you.

4 and 5 are really good although you might find some flaws in it for yourself.

The problem with 4 is that it is really big maps that can drag by sometimes. But the story is amazing.

5 Is more traditional but has some insane difficulty you can play with 2x the exp mode to try to balance that. The translation patch is the worst in the series also. But other than that the game is definitely one of the best in the series.
