Hello
I, again, have trouble with moving map sprites. I already inserted some but I don't know why this one doesn't work. I just want to replace Tethys' moving map sprite by Elphin's one, I got no problem with the standing sprite.
I tried two methods but no one worked correctly :
The first one :
I insert the sprite on a free offset, right after the standing one. But when I launch the game, it resets when it loads the sprite or the sprite is glitched, like this :
Most of the frames work perfectly but some of them like this are splitted, aren't loaded or are totally black.
The second one :
I tried to overwrite the original map sprite but in game I have the same problem with the frames
Btw I noticed something that may be interresting :
If we look the dancer map sprites in a "clean" rom, it's a bit weird.
I tried to insert the sprite on other free offesets, always didn't work. I also dumped the map sprite from FE6, just in case but it failed too.
So, here are my questions :
Am I inserting the wrong way ? What did I missed ?
Is that because the dancer's moving map sprite is a bit weird ? Do I have to modify Elphin's sprite ?
Do you have another solution to my current problem ?
I've been trying for several hours, it makes me crazy. Any help is welcomed !

Hello everyone,
I'm currently working on a FE8 hack with some friends so we tried to import some Map Sprites. It works perfectly but the colors are completly fcked. Like this :
For this example, I will try to import Elphin's standing map sprite and change Eirika's sprite by this one. So here's how I do :
1) I chose a free offset : 00BBCC40, as you can see in HxD and I imported Elphin standing map sprite in GBA GE
2) I adjusted Width and saved my rom. Here I am
We can see in HxD that the changes applied
3) In Nightmare I changed Eirika's standing map sprite, like this :
4) Apply changes > Save rom > Lauch the game, it works but there are a problem with the colors.
I have no idea about why it's like this. I tried other free offsets but I always have the same problem.... I think I'm kinda blocked.
If anyone have an idea for fixing this, he'll be my savior
PS : sorry for bad english, I'm doing what I can ._.

First, I want to warn you about my english which can be bad because I'm French.

So, there I am.
I'm castorman, 17 yo and I live in Paris.
I discovered FE after finished FFTA2 (another T-RPG on DS) by surfing on the Internet. I heard about FE by Smash Bros too and I tried Shadow Dragon. At the beginning, I thought that it was very annoying so I gived up this one :p
Few years later, Awakening came ouand I discovered another side of FE.
Since last year, I did FE 13, 11, 7, 12 and now I'm on FE 4
I think I've nothing to add...

I just tried these severals methods but the game freezes (with a horrible noise) or resets... I think that's because the dancer's moving sprite is weird, like Shadow said.
So do I have to try to adjust Elphin's sprite to Tethys template ? Or maybe I can edit an unused class (for example Mercenary F) and give it all the characteristics from the dancer class ? (I suppose that's possible but I think I'll lose the music that plays when dancing, am I wrong ?)
