  1. Just now, Sunshine said:

Looking at these drawings all together really helped me see the variety in your art both old and new. It's also interesting to compare it to your older art and see your individual style blossom into what it is. I'm excited to see your talent continue to evolve! Great job with these pieces, Jenny.

Thank you, Mark! It means a lot to hear you going through the entire thread while we're on call and even nicer to hear your nice words on here!  <3

  2. Oh my god guys, it's been 8 months.

So, we have a lot of ground to cover... which meant I got to make an imgur album of a ton of stuff I've been drawing since I last updated this thing

Which means I get to now insert 50 images by hand into this thread.
I'm not gonna put this stuff in date order because I date my drawings pretty much always

    Let it begin

    Spoiler

Well I doubt I need to say anything about the image sizes.

So, I started drawing a lot more OCs over these last 8 months and i noticed that Cadence shows up like minimum 5 times in this post alone. Oops.
    Tell me what you think!

So I'm done with AP week and have like no pressing need to draw stuff so i'm not doing a ton of art so haha tadah. Since Summer is coming up, I'll be sure to start updating more often too so yay!

  4. Welp. I haven't bothered updating in like a month. Time flies when you're making markers look hot af and then too lazy to post the pictures to imgur

[spoiler=You know the drill w/ the massive images by now]

I hope that's been an informative summary of what I've been doing for the last month in terms of art!
    see y'all next time

  5. 4. First and current impressions of me since I'm curious
    5. Favorite day of the week?
    6. Are you bothered more by heights or the thought of falling?
    7. Scrabble, Monopoly, or Uno?

    8. Do you say tbh so much because the equation is TBH?

    9. What is the biggest bug you've ever had to squish?

  6. I love markers so much and I can't say it enough.

I need to remember to update more often because it's hella weird to go like 16 days between art posts imo
Anyways, thanks for checking out my stuff and I hope you enjoy!

  7. Oh wow this is the most complex critique I have ever received, I really don't know what to say but to thank you Melody, I never expected anything like that to be said or considered into my work, so really thanks!]

I figured you might want to get some more in depth information on how your art works well to perhaps explain the appeal of it! Frankly I love doing this sort of thing, and am happy to provide an analysis of your work whenever I see it lol

Alright, here we go: one of my favorite things about your sketches has got to be the line quality. You naturally seem to want to add variation to the thickness of lines to create movement and imply shape and form, a skill that is honestly very hard to teach a student but very important to have! The one major thing about this is that I notice a visible decrease in this when you work on larger pieces or when you ink the lines like you did in the kamui piece. So compare the drawings of the three Fates designs you did to your Kamui lineart. Notice how shadows etc are indicated more by the lines in the fates designs you drew?

The thing about that difference in line variation is that it's not actually terrible that it happens (I do it all the time when I ink things) but it's one of those things that gives your art its distinct flavor that I really like about it.

Tl;dr version: I like the way you naturally tend to vary lines to indicate form, this sometimes gets lost when you do 'clean' lineart, don't be afraid to try and keep that line thickness variation in lineart, and if you want to practice that more I suggest inking small doodles! Hope this has been informative!

  8. One thing I always find in your work is that, compositionally speaking, most pieces have a very nice flow that moves the viewer in and out of the work in such a way that keeps them engaged in the work itself! This is especially true for the piece with the two Corrins and your favorite siblings in it! The movement of the capes on either side of the piece pulls the viewer up or down into the other half of the work, something that I feel ties the two halves together very nicely!

    Great job Haon!

  9. [spoiler=The best thing i've drawn all week started as a lazy doodle] En6OzSc.png

this is actually incomplete but i love the way it looks atm

If you have any suggestions for the background, I'd love to hear them!!!

another wip that i started while freezing my ass off on the school bus two days ago

    NtezE6e.jpg

I decided to attempt acrylic for this piece to mix things up and though I have almost no idea what the hell I'm supposed to be doing, it's a needed change from gouache/watercolor.

  10. So about a year ago my mom found some recipe of my grandma's in her recipe book called "Impossible Pie" and holy shit is it good. I thought it might be worth sharing my favorite version, so I hope everyone enjoys!

    IMPOSSIBLE BRUNCH PIE
    thanks grandma
1-Pkg (10 oz) of frozen chopped broccoli or chopped spinach
OR one pkg (8 oz) frozen asparagus spears cooked and drained.
    1-cup dairy sour cream
    1-cup creamed cottage cheese
    1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
    1/4 cup margarine melted
    2 eggs
1 tomato peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

    Heat oven to 350F
    Grease pie plate (9 x 1 1/4 inches.)
    Spread broccoli in plate.
Beat sour cream, cottage cheese, baking mix, margarine, and eggs until smooth, 15 seconds in the blender on high or 1 minute with hand beater.
    Pour into plate.
Top with tomatoes; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake until knife inserted between center and edge comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
    Cool 5 minutes.
