  1. I'm planning on marrying Rinkah for my first play-through of Birthright. I've concluded that Fighter->Berserker is probably the best class path for her considering it helps her HP problem and slightly helps her HP and Str growths. It lowers her Def growth by 20% which kind of sucks but I think HP+Str > Def. My question is, When should I reclass her and should I keep her in Berserker or get the good skills and go to Oni Chieftain?

  2. Hayato? Are his bases pumped or something, or is it just his joining time making him more of a Lugh or Erk than a Ricken?

He is boosted by 8 levels with and only joins one chapter later then he does in Hoshido. Basically he goes from terrible to amazing.

  3. acceptable/pretty decent. though Kinu's gonna have questionable Def. also note that Gurei's gonna be slooow as well (but Orochi is a common mother for him)

if looking from parents' only, Takumi also doesn't benefit from the marriage since his secondary tree is already Lance Fighter which is a minus but not really a large problem.

For this playthrough I really don't care about kids too much, I just want a team that can make it past Lunatic with my favorite characters. As for TakumixOboro I largely did that just for story purposes.

  4. Just a little bit of background, I want to use these units for my first playthough of Birthright but I don't know how I should pair them. I want to use around 16 units, I don't care who I use besides these units. Also I'm planning on playing on hard or lunatic.

Pairings (I want to use these pairings no matter what)

Luck (+Str -Luck MaMU Holy Lancer ((Class and Asset/Flaw is changeable if necesarry)) ) x Hana

    Takumi x Oboro

Units (these are units I want to use but don't have pairings for)

    Rinkah

    Ryouma

    Kagerou

    Nishiki

    Hinata

    Orochi

  5. My team is

    Skills

    Copycat puppet

    Hoshido

    Flamboyant

    Draconic Shield

    Dragon Fang

    Oboro

    Class: Holy Lancer

    Skills

    Lancefaire

    Copycat Puppet

    Class:Holy Bowman

    Skills

    Vantage

can someone let me know how viable this team is?
  6. I agree that when I think of dark mages, scantily clad men and women don't come to mind. The robes fit the aesthetic; however, they're not exactly memorable. Its just a general idea, ya know? They're generic. I wouldn't look at them in a video game, in recent times, and be able to link them to the source later on. On the other hand, as inappropriate and nonsensical as they are, I can step away from Fates' and Awakening's dark mages, see them out of context, and be able to link them to FE.

Of course, yeah, they should be more covered. They can have clothes on and still look memorable, lol.

IMO druids were the most memorable class in the GBA games

  7. Part of me finds it amusing that we're getting the awakening kids sort of back, but they really are overdoing it a bit. At this rate half the Nohr units are going to be from awakening.

I'm guessing it will just be these 3 because they, along with Lucina were the most popular 2nd generation units based on a survey done in Japan.

  8. I like it all. I think Fire Emblem-amie is hilarious and I'm gonna play the crap out of it. The hot-springs are a thing I'm used to from other games like Persona so I'm not freaking about it or anything, plus now there can be absolutely no doubts that Tsubaki is a dude. And I really really like v-pets so taking care of the dragon(?) is already in my top favorite new mechanics.

I really hope the dragon is a unit you can use outside of My Castle

  9. Perhaps, if Kamui has a strong justice streak. But I think it's worth noting that picking Nohr is still (seemingly) Kamui acting against Garon there. It's just from within, rather than putting his/her life on the line to defend the Hoshido royalty and potentially strike down his/her adoptive siblings in the process, which is quite the leap no matter how sympathetic Hoshido's plight is.

Though now I want Harold in the Hoshido path so they can be justice buddies. Missed opportunity IS.

Although in Nohr you might not be able to stop Garon before he crushes Hoshido

  10. I can't speak for any others, but in my case it's a matter of storytelling.

Sure, it's possible Kamui was an infant/toddler when it went down. But what good would that do for the story? The whole point of Nohr vs Hoshido is being caught between 2 families at war. If Kamui was never even old enough to have memories of his Hoshido siblings it shouldn't be up for debate; no matter how those first 6 chapters go I have trouble believing they could realistically convince Kamui that a few people s/he shares DNA with are more important than the family s/he's been raised with since infancy. It goes the other way too; Ryouma and maybe Hinoka could possibly remember Kamui, but why should Takumi or Sakura care?

Whereas if Kamui was in the 5-8 range things are just more interesting. Memories of training with Marx are countered with memories of learning from Ryouma, Elise and Sakura both looked up to Big Brother/Sister Kamui, etc. It's better narratively if Kamui has actual memories of Hoshido (even if they're suppressed until actual being reunited or something), and being kidnapped as a toddler doesn't accomodate that. It certainly could have happened that way, but it's wasted potential if it did.

Well the trailer said your forgotton Hoshido kin as in Kamui no longer remembers them because he was too young or got brainwashed by Garon.

  11. Well, the Fire clan seems closely tied to Hoshido, considering their leader sent his own daughter (Rinka) to help them. But admittedly, that's a strange coincidence.

That being said, the elements most commonly associated with the japanese culture are wind and water(imo), so I don't see a hypothetic Water clan being a part of Nohr. If they have clans too, perhaps their theme is something different.

I disagree because Aqua seems to have control over water and she was originally from Nohr so she might be part of the water clan

  12. What do you think Kamui's personality will be like?

I think he will be kind of generic like Robin, but I hope based on dialogue options and other choices you can mold Kamui however you want. (for example if you chose sacrifice Emmeryn it would make you a bit more cold but better at being a tactician)

  13. My fear is that the only meaningful choice is Hoshido or Nohr.

I'm hoping that each route comes with at least a good/paragon/hero and bad/renegade/evil ending.

Maybe that's based on wether you kill or spare your family members

  14. ^ your right the cyclops parallel was not the best, I'm actually thinking they could be more like the war dragons from Fe 6 plot important and a large in-story threat, but hardly the final boss. Also i don't see how the golem can have range attacks which is pretty much a prerequisite for a late-game/final boss to have. (Are there even any final bosses without ranged attacks?) They could give him magic of course but i would think the trailer would show that off.

He could hit the ground and cause an earthquake or he could throw boulders
