I used Sophia once. I hoarded every statbooster I got and then spent them all on her and even then it took until promotion (at lvl 20) before she stopped being complete deadweight and upgraded to being just annoying to use but usable. And this was normal mode.
This rating thread is for hard mode.

Well, on paper he looks good enough to consider using. For a NM playthrough.
HM, no. Marginal accuracy lead on Gonzo (read, not enough to actually make a difference) and loses everywhere else.
I do love 'zerkers though.

I like Gonzo a lot, and his high HP, Strength and Speed are great but that skill is fucking pathetic. And this is the only FE game where lack of skill is a notable detriment. Still, he performs well enough in lancefest (especially against wyvern knights since they can't get terrain bonuses), can swipe a lot of terrain bonuses for himself, can actually take more than 2 physical hits due to his monstrous HP and get a cool crit bonus.
He exists to kill regular enemies. Do not try to make him fight bosses.
7.75/10 after a +1 bias bonus for being a nice guy.

Mobile healing and support botting is nice but will always have arse magic (you know, the one stat a healer wants) and has a "dodge or die" idea of durability.
Also, I hate her.

I never use Ellen in long term play, but she is invaluable before you get Clarine and Saul. She really needs a better base MAG though.
