  1. You're right, he is one for the future. This does nothing to help us in 2014.

I like him, though. And Posta's done a lot to revitalise this team - cautiously optimistic ahead of the Asian Cup early next year we're hosting.

Australia is not going to win this WC, and it's almost impossible for them to go through their group so they already did what they were supposed to, giving their youngsters the experience of playing in a WC. The best thing they hope for now is to not end the WC with three defeats (Australia got a really difficult group, so better luck next time).

  2. and as viyut said, morale seems to be a big part, the fact that I got a streak going immediately and now my players are rarely below good/superb morale means that they usually put in good performances. On my other test playthrough, I had the same tactic, but I had a poor run of results to begin with and I didn't really recover from it. Plus you also need some time for the tactic to become known by your players.

It makes a huge difference, i was playing with Wrexham at Skrill premier but i couldn't get a winning streak going early in the season and my team's morale kept dropping a lot, and since my team was just average compared to the rest of the league i couldn't recover and got sacked not too long after that.

I don't think your team needs to be fully familiarized with the tactic to be winning, it certainly helps but it's not a decisive factor on the game (Match preparation is one of them) i managed to win the Brazilian Serie A with only half of the Tactic Familiarity.

  3. Fluminense was a team that got relegated from the Brazilian first division last year, They have a decent team with some former internationals but it's not a team italy should be struggling against. And Aquilani, Cassano, Thiago Motta and De Rossi played like crap today. (Immobile's Hat-Trick wasn't bad though).

  4. Mexico is not a bad team but they are relying too much on Chicharito (Who, by the way is a very limited player) and their crappy midfield means they will be starving for the ball against Croatia and Brazil (maybe against Cameroon too, but i'm not sure on that).

  5. other results: bosnia managed to beat mexico 1-0, maybe cameroon have a chance

Mexico's team was still shocked from that nasty injury their team mate got in the last friendly and so their players were afraid to get injured and then miss the WC.

Also, Bosnia has a pretty good team (better than Cameroon), and Pjanic and Dzeko are world class players. It's not a surprise that Mexico lost (since to me Bosnia will be second in their group while Mexico is a likely third place, maybe fourth if they lose to Cameroon).

  6. I hope for some surpises!

I love it, if a "small" football nation angers a "huge" football nation. Like the 1:1 New Zealand vs. Italy in WC 2010 or the fantastic performance of South Korea in their "home" WC 2002.

Bosnia says Hi! ( :Greece: might be a surprise too).

  7. To me the most important thing in this edition of FM is to manage your players. Always do a private chat with them when they have underperformed in the last 5 matches and if your team's morale is low you'll struggle on any match, so when your morale gets low you should schedule a friendly against a team much weaker than yours (which in your case is very difficult) to raise morale. Try to get a winning streak going and keep winning consecutive matches for as long as you can.

  8. I dont think it was heartbreaking, personally i think it's more of a divine punishment than anything else, since Diego Costa had played for the Brazilian NT before the Spanish NT called him but since that match was only a friendly he opted to play for the Spanish NT instead (note that he isn't spanish nor his parents/grandparents were spanish so he should never, ever be allowed to play for the spanish NT).

I also think most Brazilians dont feel any kind of pity for him. It's just like Scolari said:

"A Brazilian player who refuses to wear the Brazilian shirt and to play in a World Cup in his country is automatically removed [from my list] . He is turning his back to a dream of millions of people, to represent our NT, the five time world cup champions in a world cup on Brazil."

  9. True, however. It is really hard to get a gun into your hands legally. Brazil's gun laws are harsh. So it IS easier to print a gun than to buy, I live in my city (it's a big city), and I haven't seen any gun store here, the closest to it are hunting stores with hunting rifles.

I live in Brazil too and i don't think it makes any difference, the gun laws here keep normal people from getting their hands on a gun (which is a good thing, who knows how many people were saved by this law) but the criminals will find a way to circunvent this and get guns the same way they get drugs.

The only drawback of 3D printers that i can think of is the plastic waste. Paper is easier to Recycle than Plastic, and plastic takes much more time to decompose.

  10. He doesn't have the winning mentality that great coaches have. That's what makes the difference in a cup competition. To me the biggest reason why Brazil are favourites is the experience on winning Scolari has. And you think Low isn't a bad coach but if he doesn't win this WC he might end up not winning a single title with one of the best generations of german football ever.

  11. + A Brazil squad with no decent strikers being touted as favourites because they beat Spain once,

Brazil's manager won the 2002 WC and he is very optimistic he can do it again (also, we're playing at home, you just have no idea of how big of an advantage that is.)

And saying Brazil has no strikers is just dumb, Brazil has lots of strikers but our best CF is really injury prone (just like Ronaldo was in 2002).

    + Seriously though it's Germany's year.

They won't win a competition until they get rid of their terrible manager.

Now what i think will happen in the WC:

    - Either Argentina, Brazil or Italy (if they decide to play Verratti and Immobile) will win it.

    - Belgium and Bosnia herzegovina will be the big surprises (never ever understimate Miralem Pjanic and Eden Hazard, i'd tip Belgium to win it if they had good Full backs).

    - France is not bad, they almost didn't qualify but they have a decent team.

    - Spain's tiki-taka is nearing it's end, and Del Bosque just doesn't know how good David Silva is.

    - The US might end the WC with three defeats (if they lose to ghana they will).

    - Colombia has possibly their greatest team ever (if only Falcao wasn't injured).

    - Croatia will be second in their group and have one of the best midfields in the world (when Rakitic is playing, that is).

    - Netherlands's team is good, not better than last WC. But their Keeper Tim Krul can really make the difference.

    - Portugal has a pretty good team, i hope they decide to bring Quaresma to the WC.

    - Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure will show why he is one of the best players in the world.

    - England is just not going very far in this one, but Joe Hart will not concede stupid goals like green did last WC.

    - I can see Chile going far in this one.

    - Argentina's keeper Romero is a disaster waiting to happen.

  12. I think the biggest problem in this gen is the extra focus on story telling (to the point where some interactive stories are being called games). Some of the best games ever made have a simple story that is there just to set the pace of the game.

A good story can turn a good game into a masterpiece, and a poorly written story might end up ruining a good game. Most games i've played this gen had bad storytelling. (Pokemon X/Y, for example, has more of a focus on the story than Pokemon B/W had but a good part of it was poorly written and there were too many useless cutscenes that should've been completely removed from the game).

I believe that the story is there to set the pace of the game and it should never, ever be the selling point of a game. And i feel that is the biggest problem on this gen. The developers tried to focus more on the story aspect of their games and ended up adding too many cutscenes and forgot that gameplay is what really sells games.
