  1. Main game and PVP are pretty different (mostly down to you only being able to use a very limited amount of people in a PVP team) . Do you have anyone in particular you want to try out this run? Bare in mind that the Pairing Guide you are using based it's data on Pairings that were efficient for the parents and usually didn't place a ton of value on the kids unless they really stood out. The author himself (not the person who made that listing btw) has expressed some hesitation at the recommendations he gave and is now making more in-depth discussions, albeit at a pretty slow pace.

  2. After taking a couple months off from FE (mostly due to Pokemon and Super Robot Wars), I'm ready to jump back into things. As the title says, this is going to be a PMU of Birthrights Lunatic difficulty. After I have all of my units selected, I will be documenting my progress (with text and some images) in this thread, which is something I've always wanted to try.

Anyways, on to what most people are here for. I'll be using 16 characters, so go ahead and pick whatever classes you'd like them to be. Note that I have access to the Path Bonus classes, as well as the ones included in Before Awakening and Gift from Anna. No limit on kids. Go ahead and customize everything about Corrin. All I request is a healer, maybe someone with Locktouch.

    Rules

    1. No Skirmishes. I might regret this (since I'll need to do a bit of Forging and will need money for Seal useage), but meh.

    2. My Castle is allowed to gain Support points.

    3. Characters will need to change to their selected class ASAP. This won't actually happen until quite a bit later (since Seals are limited until Chapter 21), but I get to choose who to use certain Seals on during the period they are limited)

    4. Kids are to be recruited as soon as both of their parents are recruited.

    5. I'll allow unselected parents to participate in combat until I recruit their child.

    6. I will be doing all the Paralogues that were unlocked from S Ranks needed to get the selected classes. I'm not sure what I'll do about the remaining ones.

    7. Units that are forced on certain Maps can do whatever.

    8. If there is treasure on a Map, I will allow myself to bring someone to open it.

    Current Team:

    Hero!Corrin (Named Dudeface)

    Mechanist!Orochi

    Swordmaster!Takumi (via S Hana)

    Kinshi Knight!Hana (via S Takumi)

    Berserker!Oboro (via S Corrin)

    Falcon Knight!Sakura

    Nine-Talis!Selkie (Hinoka as her mother)

    Onmyoji!Felicia (via S Hayato)

    Swordmaster!Kaden (via A+ Hinata)

    Priestess!Setsuna (via S Azama)

    Priestess!Mitama (Setsuna as her mother)

    Dark Falcon!Hinoka

    Dark Falcon!Saizo

MoA! Kiragi (Hana as his mother)

    Paladin!Ryoma (via A+ Silas)

    Sniper!Silas (via S Mozu)

  3. You have a point, but I'd rather not recommend making the main character the second coming of Arthur when it takes two points of luck to get one point of crit evade, Nohr Noble doesn't give more luck on promotion, and the luck growth goes down to 25%.

Not that this point doesn't have merrit, but it's pretty darn hard to make Corrin even close to Arthur tier unlucky. Even with a Luck flaw, they still have +2 Luck on him, with 15% higher Growth as a Nohr Noble. Arthur will literally never reach that on average in 1st tier without stat boosters. Plus, Corrin doesn't have to deal with his personal Skill. Finallt, while neither are reliable, there is a difference between a 25% Growth and a 10% Growth.

  4. Generally, Luck only really matters if you have A LOT of it (like Donny in Awakening tier) or very little (like Arthur and Nyx). Even with a Luck Bane, Corrin will generally be fine hit rate wise. Even without it, Skill and Luck Tonics and help patch up unlikely hit rates. Even if you don't want to change Corrin's role, go with a different Flaw than Speed (my recommendation is Luck). It will make the early game of Conquest (especially 7 and 10 where Corrin really needs to play an offensive role) more manageable.

  5. Having glanced over the post, my only comments are...

    1. I don't necessarily see why banning Forges is a thing, but if you really want to, go for it.

    2. Why in the world are you picking a Speed bane? Like, I can only assume you want Corrin to focus on the Dragonstone, but the Levin Sword exists for a reason.

    3. Go ahead and use Azura. I don't see a problem with using a character you literally cannot replicate the function of with anyone else.

    4. I'm fine with people like Camilla ad Xander becoming Pair Up bots, as it's an angle they are rarely approached from.

  6. You know, you dont have to sit here and tell me which skills are and aren't OP/expensive

I know the skills and all i really got as things to keep certain characters alive such as miracle on Azura, or the lvl 35 skills that characters would get in the class I made them that way they would have it before the end game when Ied only get to use if bout 3-4 chapters.

I mean.... I can only speak from my own experiences so....

PEMN (personal experience means nothing) is pretty important take into account when talking objectively about FE units. It's one of the main reasons a lot of people will say Bases > Growths and why characters like Mozu constantly rank near the bottom in tier lists. When you're talking objectively about an FE character, expect to be called out on something of you aren't using their Average stats as a basis.
  7. If you're using Camilla, I usually like making her a Wyvern Lord after she picks up Savage Blow. Especially on Conquest, I would generally avoid reclassing a character into a class they would have all E Ranks in (i.e. Hero!Keaton) this far into the game. Maybe if you dedicate a couple Paralogue's solely to grinding them up, but even then, the Skills Keaton would get wouldn't exactly help him too much. Of the other Units you mentioned, I guess I'd recommend Mercenary!Silas the most? I like Strong Riposte more than a lot of people and he'd certainly make better use of the Sol skill from Hero than Keaton would.

Also, I don't know why people recommend Great Lord!Azura, when Great Lord!Effie is also a thing.

  8. I know saying an Est is "balanced" is kind of a joke regardless which section of the fandom you ask, but Mozu is much less a "block of stats" than Donny. Like, whenever I've invested in Donny, I've always had some form of satisfying pay off. I ship Donny X Lissa hard, so it's been a lot. Even after giving Mozu Paragon, I've felt her performance as a Kinshi was only okay.

  9. Similar to Donny giving his Male children Villager access in Awakening, Mozu will give any of her children the Villager class. For some reason, she can't pass it down to her spouse (similar to Keaton and Kaden), but her kids will always inherit it. As long as the kid has access to Merchant or MoA, they can also learn Villager's Skills via Offspring Seals. For example, if you used an Offspring Seal to get Mozu!Hisame to Level 2 MoA, he'd learn Aptitude and Underdog. Same goes for Mozu!Midori going to the same level as a Merchant.

  10. Happy New Year to you, too!

Yup, +Mag/-Lck sounds good! I think I'll go with that.

Now I just have to decide between Dark Mage and Diviner. From what I know, Dark Mage is (probably) the better option because of better growths, but Diviner gives Basara and thus Quixotic, which might help a little with hit rates... Any suggestions on that front?

Thanks, all three of you, so far!

    Have a happy new year!

Preference mostly. I'd prefer Onmyoji in this situation (Kana will lack the Skill to do an effective crit build as a Sorcerer, while also lacking the Def to really make Nos work. Dark Knight could be a thing though), since it has Weapon rank synergy with Strategist.
  11. Let's see:- Effie shows up in a map full of physical units- Camilla and her gang show up in a desert chapter- Charlotte and Benny show up way earlierThat's already a lot of hard advantage. The only disadvantage is that Niles and Odin show up later, but that's about it.

I wonder how AI Niles would react to having locked doors on his join Map. I love the image of Niles ignoring Corrin to get treasure.
