Not so sure on that, it says that it raises the points, but I've never actually seen the support level go up for anyone go up a support level after battle when the character wasn't deployed. If it does raise them, then I'd expect it raises them a lower amount if they aren't deployed.

    I'd say Dragon and Bow.

Sword as well. All the sword users need sword materials to upgrade weapon ranks, so you're going to constantly be grinding for them. Every single Sword user has a unique sword that can be fully upgraded, so  you're going to need 22 Silver Myrmidon materials for each of them, meaning 220 Silver Myrmidon materials total.

Or 198 if you don't feel like upgrading both Rowan and Lianna's weapon, since they can pass it between each other.

I think they'd have given Fates two maps, one for Nohr and other for Hoshido, and split the final maps's missions among the remaining four. Or something. I doubt history mode took as much time as the characters, but i dunno.

So basically what you're saying is that they made Lyn, Celica and Anna at the last minute and cut out Oboro and Niles, and just decided to cut Navarre and Owain out at the same time for shits and giggles? And what of the Anna mementos? Were they just in there for no reason as well, since Anna apparently wasn't playable. And this is what magically brought the amount of Lance/Axe/Bow/Magic users coincidentally in sync, since before they were going to have an extra lance user. Sounds legit.

DLC probably wasn't a big concern at the time. Maybe Azura would come in with a smaller pack.

You're just trying to be funny, aren't you? Have you played no recent Musou games aside from this one? The DLC for Musous is worked on alongside the main game all the time, DLC characters being in the game (but enemy only) before being released is standard practice.

Firstly, KT already said Lyn and Celica were suggestions by IS, and one can only imagine what a "suggestion" is considering their relationship in this project. Anna follows the same circumstances as those two: lategame clone with no story impact. And most damning of all, Niles's supports were datamined... he was THAT far in development before being cut... but look at that, we ended up with 3 Takumis ANYWAYS! I wonder why.

So do you think they were only going to give us three history mode maps in the base game, or that they were going to have the "Fates" pack feature Lyn and Celica instead or something?

Depends, but they've said they want the DLC characters to feel fully integrated as if they were in the game from the start, so that would presumably include material drops. Especially if they're going to be appearing as enemies on the new maps.

It would be somewhat odd if only Niles, Oboro, Owain, and Navarre had materials though.

The DLC characters who aren't already in the game will probably use their own materials or the other DLC materials, kind of like how Lyn and Celica use each other's materials in their attack crests.

Numerous instances where Anna does not show up. Once it took her until I was at 1900 KOs for her to finally appear. And I know that was just luck since on most maps where this is an issue, I can't get her to show up at all.

Edit: I figured it out. Anna appears when the player personally gets 1000 KOs. Unlike other KO conditions that involve your entire team. smh

Sometimes it also takes her quite a while to show up after you fulfill the condition because she's waiting for a free "event" slot to open up. I've had 1k kill scrolls that didn't show up until I was at over 1.6k kills a few minutes later.

Ahh okay, so story missions are the best way to go.

Generally, yes. Just be sure to do the specific side mission that the character you have deployed mentions, and you obviously will need to have them deployed as either an NPC or a playable character.

  8. Getting A Supports with most characters available in the story is actually easier than it seems, every story level has a mission in it that completing will give everyone deployed a significant amount of support pointswith a certain character, usually it's the first level after you recruit them. This makes it pretty easy to grind A Supports with up to 6-7 characters at a time, depending on the level.

    I got a question!

I know from the gameplay tips thread that using Camilla's Strong 1 can be a good way to rack up kill counts, but this is risky when I have to face a Falchion wielder. I also haven't leveled up Camilla enough to the point that I feel safe bringing her (Lv 45) to Lv 60+ battles. Is there other way to raise kill counts?

An example for such tough battle is the one that unlocks Brynhildr's Scroll. I could only get up to 1600 KOs, though I admit I did so using rather ineffective units (such as infantry without Astra or other skills).

Using the strong 2 attack on most characters (two weak attacks and a heeavy) is usually very good for raising kill counts. I think the only characters it's not a minor AoE attack for would be the archers and other two axe users (it still is for Lissa but it has so much endlag on it that it's not worth spamming).

Yeah I'm playing Lyn and she manages to kill a lot, sadly mages are always on my way to put me in the air for a few seconds (that I needed)

Maybe I just need to retry again, but if only Rowan could kill like 400 enemies instead of 50..x)

That's why you need those skills,  they prevent all flinching and knockback while attacking or running, if you also have Astra on her she can actually move faster doing 3light attacks in a row and then rolling than she can while walking, making you functionally immune to knockback.

Well you can't beat validar if there is any shadows, Anyway, I just tried to win Leo's final weapon upgrade but it is.. Difficult. I just did the map two times and I was at 1950 kills, I'm struggling a lot to have these 50 kills, damn.

The armored blow and pass skills come in handy on that map, along with a Wingslayer weapon. If you arent attacking, you should be running, due to the time limit, and any added speed while wittling down enemies is always welcome.

Unless you feel like you need the aesthetic of a character's legendary weapon, only the weapons with Dragonslayer are worth upgrading. To fully upgrade a legendary weapon, you need to obtain the weapon's seal from S-ranking the associated mission, purchase the character's final weapon rank seal (which requires having A-rank), and then get 10,000 K.O.s using the legendary weapon. Doing all of this unlocks the weapon skill "True Power" which does absolutely nothing except raise the weapon's attack to 240. This means that most fully upgraded legendary weapons are exactly the same as 5*, 6-skill slot brave weapons, which you will probably have some of by the time you start earning these weapon seals. This means the best legendary weapons to upgrade are the Falchions and Sol Katti, because they have dragon effectiveness without taking up a skill slot and without an attack penalty.

Not true. Once you unlock the potential of a Signature weapon, it no longer gets an attack penalty from having a Slayer skill added to it. Even the weapons without slayer skills on them already are thus worth unlocking the potential of.

Please don't post information unless you know for certain you're correct about all of the details.

Damn I just did Anna's battle on Awakening History Map, my team was at level 60 (rip Frederick who died, level 30..)

And I just won it (it was the hardest thing I've did)  But I wonder.. Is there a Anna battle for every history map? I've unlocked her but I wonder.

Yes, all five illustrations unlock a unique Anna mission. Beating any of them will unlock her.

Speaking of which, do you have to do something crazy to unlock the true power of the personal weapons like was the case with the Master Sword in HW (which required unlocking all weapons, then getting 25000 KOs using it; Legends upped the ante by giving it a new skill, which required 25000 KOs, which weren't counted until you obtained all + grade weapons, and knocked down Evil's Bane to 10000 KOs)?

You need to get the mastery scroll for each weapon, then basically get the character to "S-Rank" and then get 10k kills with the weapon. 10k kills isn't as hard as it sounds with most characters, you can easily get it in 3 missions by doing the Level 2 mission in the first History map, and spamming C2 (two light attacks followed by one heavy) attacks into largish crowds. Doing this can net you +4000 kills in just one mission. The only one I had trouble with was Camilla, who took a bit longer.

    Wait, really?

I wish there was some indication of who can and can't use staves...

I'm pretty sure the only characters who only get staves on Promotion are the Pegasus Knights and Corrin. Lissa, the twins, Elise, and Sakura can all use them at base, the only character I'm not sure of is Celica, since I promoted her immediately.

I have some questions about weapon forging/smithing/whatever they call it in this game.

    1. If you put attributes on the basic version of a character's personal weapon (Falchion/Yato/etc.), will they stay once you unlock the awakened version?

    2. Obviously lower-level weapons become pretty useless as soon as you unlock better versions, but at what level does it become worth it to start sticking attributes on weapons yourself?  I'm guessing steel, since it's the best level all the unpromoted characters can wield?  Or should I wait until silver/whatever is above silver?

    1. Yes. The upgraded weapon is like the Masted Sword in Hyrule Warriors, it's the same weapon but with improved stats.

    2. As soon as you want, really. So long as you dont put too much on one weaker weapon, but even if you do, any skill on any weapon can be reobtained, so you're never going to permanently lose any skills. I'd advise against making a "perfect" weapon until you get a 5-star 6 slot brave weapon. For the characters with their own custom weapon, go ahead and do it as soon as you want to, since it'll retain all the skills on it when you unlock the potential anyway, you just have to deal with the lower might until then.

Alright I'll give that a try, thanks. It'll be great to get Astra for everyone, and do Marth too so I can put Paragon on some of my units I don't use much to help them level up.

Marth and Tiki's mission is the one immediately after Ryoma's, and Ryoma's is the same as Xander's. For Tiki's support bonus you have to kill the sages causing the Lightning, for Marth's you need to kilk the Fafnirs Gharnef summons after you defeat him. With Xander in Chapter 14, you need to kill the summoner before he summons reinforcements.

I don't know any other characters offhand, though.

Has anyone found some particularly good ways to grind supports?

I've been trying to do the Timed Onslaught missions since they have a lot of captain enemies to kill, but I wondered if anybody had some other suggestions too.

It's going to take forever to get Ryoma to all these A ranks for Astra, isn't it

Do either Chapter 14 or 15 (the one after he joins that you have to protect Darios in) with Ryoma deployed. Stop the Myrmidon early on running to get reinforcements. All 7 other characters on the map will gain a significant amount of support points with Ryoma. Then just completed the mission. All the story mode missions have side objectives that give support points.

You just forgot what the review said. What Derrick said was, "If one character uses a certain mode of transportation, [...], and wields the same weapon, they'll pretty much have the same moveset."

Camilla uses an axe so she has a different moveset from the three Pegasus Knights (whom all play identically). Derrick also mentions that this doesn't apply to sword users, so the entire statement is true.

I have no idea why he'd make that statement anyway, since it doesn't include the non-mounted characters who make up the bulk of cloned movesets (counting NPCs we have Rowan/Lianna/Darios, Ryoma/Owain, Lyn/Navarre, Takumi/Sakura/Anna/Niles Marth/Celica, Chrom/Lucina and Robin/the evil Mages), and the only characters it actually groups together are the Pegasus Knights and Leo/Elise. It's like he was trying to mislead people.
