    Yep. I still pick by personality to this day. (Even Rolf on FE10 HM.)

    As for pokemon I picked them based on if I like them or not. (Moves,how it looks, etc.)

    I used to breed poke to get awesome poke but it was to time consuming. (EV training and getting the right nature of poke.)

    And WELCOME TO SF!!! (Just noticed that your kinda new.)
