Sure, I'll check it out. How many quotes are we talking about anyway?

It'll vary. Looking at the wiki it's sorta spotty. I'm currently working on S1 cards and the first card I ran into without a translated quote was Sully's N. We can let you know when we run into a card without a translated quote.

  2. I am currently working with a group to create translated proxies for cipher cards and there have been a few quotes on some cards that haven't been translated. If anyone is interested in helping out with translating the missing quotes or knows someone that might be able to help please comment below.

  3. Listening to Olivia's Japanese voice, particularly her crit quotes made my ears bleed.

Also I don't know whats up with Xander voice post-Fates. He sounded fine in that and yet in Heroes and especially Warriors it sounds like he's foaming it in. It just ain't the same. Also the replacement voices for certain characters rings wrong with me, particularly Hinoka and Niles.

Oh, almost forgot, Peri's heroes voice...yikes thats not what I was expecting.

  4. Honestly with all three paths being pretty bad I'm not sure if I want any of them to be canon. Hell the japanese title was Fire Embloem If, referring to the "what if" scenarios each story has, so in that regard you could argue that none of them are canon. With that said however I would imagine IS pushing Revelations hard as the canon story, despite being the worst written of the three.

If I was forced to choose between the three I'd go with Birthright as that one was the least worst of the three in writing quality.

  5. Nope. It doesn't matter that they're not related, Fates is playing off the sexual fetishes of "banging your sister who's NOT REALLY your sister so there's no issues here" schtick, ESPECIALLY with Camilla. It just feels wrong, especially with Elise who loves you dearly as a younger sister and I feel like marrying her would be betraying the relationship that they have, and of course its morally fucked up. Same goes for the Hoshidan siblings who are in the same boat thanks to IS wussing out on committing to the proper incest (and destroyed the entire point of Birthright all together since there's no blood relation now).

Honestly when I first saw the game I knew they were gonna allow marriage with the royals as people would complain about it's absence, plus its a Japanese game so its their usual bread and butter.

  6. Corrin is one of the main reasons why Fates story is rubbish. Most of what I'd say has already been said above but I will say that Revelations REALLY showed the worst of Corrin's flaws, especially the Anthony arc where his/her naive personality and careless trust is called out and then is immediately turned into a positive after the mission, which quite frankly was ludicrous. Also their personality is just bland, and it really makes me miss previous protagonists with actual development and personalities. \

    Dishonorable Mentions:

Conquest - Not cutting down Hans where he stood during the Cheve massacre. Not explaining the Valla info he learnt to his siblings (There were definitely ways to do this that they didn't even attempt).

General - Letting Leo get the glory of killing the major villains like Iago and Zola (Made Leo more likable in my eyes though).

Oddly enough, though, most of these types of fan works I see are of the female Corrin and not so much the male ... so even though they are virtually identical, seeing female Corrin in fan work seems to make me cringe faster.

MCorrin really gets the short end of the stick, considering his poll position in the popularity chart and heroes poll in comparison to his female counterpart (Hell he didnt even make the top 20 in the latter) and the lack of merchandise he got. I've seen people excuse Corrin's flaws when its the female version because for her,  it's charming while its irritating for the male counterpart, which is just stupid. They're both the same character so she shouldn't get any special privileges. She's only more popular than the male version due to her design (thigh gaps be damned but sex sells so what can you do) and self inserters.

Edit: Also no matter how many times they tell me, Corrin's dragon design aint no dragon I've ever seen. It looks like Xerneas's missing cousin. Then again...better than Lilith's design.

  7. Ilyana - Not the best of mages in the game but to be honest she wasn't that bad on my last run. She does suffer in the speed area like a certain light mage but her damage output wasn't too bad (more of a nuke mage). Thunder magic does have the hit issues but the crits offered can be useful and in this games hit system, misses aren't happening as often as those games that dont have it or the new hybrid one in Fates. The transfer bonuses can be quite useful to make her better and of course endgame with the dragons she rips them apart (for one chapter in the whole game it's probably not worth it but it is entertaining). I miiiiight be a bit biased in my view of her just from my own experience with her but she was decent, at least she has more availability than Tormod.

    6/10

Aran - Haven't given this guy a proper shot since I tend to favour Nephenee over him. He looks promising but at the time you get him he's just alright.

    5/10 for now.

  8. Sothe - A solid unit early on but will feel rather underwhelming late game, plus his forced deployment for endgame is annoying, especially with the amount of slots reserved for other characters. But he could be worse.

    6/10

Laura - With all the other light magic users you get later on she does get forgotten rather easily, especially with Micaiah in endgame, but her growth rates are quite impressive. If given the time to build up EXP I reckon she'd turn out to be a pretty powerful magic user...just gotta give her plenty of EXP in part 1 to give her the chance to get there. Again, another character I never gave a proper shot so HM tryout for her

    6/10 for now

  9. Leonardo - Haven't taken him too far in RD but for when I've used him he's not been spectacular. Rolf and especially Shinon come in and pretty much overshadow him. At least archers aren't too bad in this game since they have the melee ranged crossbows to make them more versatile. Will give him a proper shot in my HM run but I fear him to be the weaker of the brigade.

    4/10 for now.

Nolan - I always thought his look could be suitable for the lord of the rings universe. I really want to try this guy for the whole game next time as he's pretty solid. Funny that his strength growth is like Rinkah's in how surprisingly low it is. The speed growth is handy though and without him, Part 1 would be a nightmare. Solid unit overall

    7/10

  10. If they ported the Tellius games to the Switch then I would be instantly sold on the console. Having those games on the go would complete my FE thirst for as much as I love those two games, I do prefer my FE on the go, and with Xenoblade Chronicles being ported to the Wii U they've proven they have the power to port these kind of games to their newer consoles. Hopefully their performance at the time shouldn't affect their chances of getting ported, especially considering they did Shadow Dragon recently which didn't do too well in sales in comparison to the previous western released games. Overall it would be nice to give these games more love since getting them these days costs and arm and a leg, hell I had to chuck $150 Dollaridoos just to get mine in the PAL region.

  11. Haven't used him in endgame before but early game has been good for me. Double reliably, good strength and decent dodging help with part 1. For my first HM run I plan on using alot of the dawn brigade so I'll get a chance to see him at his full potential there.

    7/10 for now.

  12. From my experience Micaiah has been alright. Early game is her worst for sure due to her squishyness and lack of damage output, which improves when she gets the Thani tome, without that though she would struggle more with Part 1. I feel her speed is her biggest weakness, which also contributes to her fragileness, not helped by the fact she's a main character so easy to get game over is your not careful with her. She does get better later on with her damage though and her sacrifice skill can be handy if healers are busy/dead.

    I'd say she's around a 6/10

  13. In terms of having things like the narrative back and the base conversations, absolutely yes. Those little things made PoR and RD stand out for me and fleshed out the characters more. Also being able to build supports from just having 2 characters in a certain amount of chapters rather than sticking near each other I found to be much better for support point building and allowed for support convos focused around specific events of the plot.

A narrator could have helped greatly for Awakening and Fates story and helped build some context for the land we are in. As for kids, unless they can do an effective time skip to justify their existence they should not return. If your gonna have kid characters, actually make them work or just have them already there like Ross in Sacred Stones.

  14. My main mistake (and has stayed as a bad habit of mine) is not using jaegans at all...even ones like titania or marcus.

You and me both mate. I've never tried prepromoted units (or any laguz in the Tellius series with an exception or two for ones like Ranulf and the royals). Made most of my early runs rather predictable and made me miss out on some good ones to use, I guess this is more of a mistake in limiting myself unintentionally. Did an Awakening run this year and tried out Anna, Libra and Say'ri and they were pretty good in that run. Gonna be using a hell of alot of them prepromotes for my next run of Blazing Sword.

  15. If they ported the Tellius series to the Switch I'd be pretty satisfied (as much as I love those 2 games I do like my Fire Emblem on the go). With IS the way it is at the moment I wouldn't trust them with a remake as they'd mess it up somehow (probably by adding shit no one asked for) and a sequel is not likely nor necessary. If they were to change/add anything I would like to see support convos added into Radiant Dawn which would be great for the newcomers in that game that got character development screwed.
