  1. Rules (adapted from Integrity's)

    - Ratings are for Normal Mode.

    - Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted. If somebody else said what you want to already, quote them explicitly.

+/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is encouraged, but no more. If you exercise your bias privileges, please do so explicitly.

    - Votes are made out of 10. You cannot rate a unit above 10 or below 0.

    - The rating topic will be updated whenever I feel like it, but I will try to allow at least 24 hours for each topic. They will generally be updated at around noon EST.

    - A character being inferior relative to another character does not explicitly reduce their rating.

    - Characters do not get credit for recruiting others or allowing access to side quests.

    - Assume that the character in question is being recruited.

    - Characters do not get credit for bringing items.

    - I reserve the right to ignore any votes which are not well-supported.

    - You may allow a character to use scrolls (and adjust their rating appropriately) so long as it is reasonable (you may debate what constitutes "reasonable" if you feel people may disagree with you). You cannot arbitrarily increase a unit's score by arguing that they may exclusively use half a dozen scrolls for themself. In general, scrolls will probably not add more than +1 to a character's overall rating.

    - Warp skipping has an impact on scores in so far as "Safy has an high base staff rank". Nanna would score lower than Safy because of her lower rank, but no chapter is explicitly said to be skipped. You can't get Warp and then suddenly say every character after doesn't exist or requires turns to recruit. Something could be said of Xavier, or Conomore/Amalda who are in an escape chapter where Leaf starts next to the escape point.

Her personal weapon is what makes her, Dime Thunder being one of the most powerful spells in the game because it hits so damn hard. Unfortunately, she needs Ambush to really use it effectively because it's so heavy and she's so fragile, but she has a pretty good claim to the scroll if she's going to be used. Her mount and her decent ability to fight indoors help her out a bit as well. Overall a pretty powerful unit, often overlooked because Eyrios is extremely good and you can only pick one. 7/10

Rather middle of the road guy. Being a prepromote with decent stats makes him usable as filler in quite a few chapters, and his weapon ranks are quite nice: A Swords in particular. Pretty much a solid, but not exceptional unit. 5.5/10

Also, as of now, Robert is officially the worst unit in the game. Will his terribleness be bested? Probably, because Shanam is still out there.

Pretty much Selphina with better growths and PCC, but without the weapon rank that he can use as a crutch. Pretty bad, but probably overall more useful than Ronan. 3/10.

Pretty much interchangeable with Kein. Any real difference in their stats can be made up for with scrolls. Their weapon ranks are slightly different, but I'm not sure it makes any noticeable difference. 1.5/10

Vastly inferior to pretty much everybody. He has no skills, no PCC, and not really any weapon ranks to speak of. Overall just weak, but gets a slight bonus for being mounted. 1.5/10

  6. Yea, Eyvel has a special, invisible version of the Prayer skill that grants her perfect evasion on fatal blows until chapter 24x. She can't die in the arena.

I don't know the trigger for Galzus spawning, but I've definitely seen him and I don't think I killed 4 arena units before his appearance.

As a mounted bow unit with all around mediocre stats, she is pretty useless in general. Her one saving grace is that, unlike all the other bowmen, she actually has a weapon rank high enough to use the Brave Bow, an incredibly powerful weapon. That alone saves her from the garbage heap that her friends go into, but not by much. 3.5/10

Extremely solid mounted unit with decent indoor combat (although his sword rank is a bit lacking). He's got good PCC, which makes up for his lack of skills. He joins at a low level, but his base stats are decent enough that it actually proves to be beneficial as he can level fairly quickly while also using scrolls. 7.5/10

A solid unit all around, but unfortunately there are lots of options for swordfighters who are rather similar and all want access to the ranged swords. Sunlight Sword is pretty nice, though, and makes him especially strong indoors and helps a bit with his fragility. 7.5/10

The definition of mediocrity. He's mounted, but his stats are not spectacular and he lacks skills. He's usable, but doesn't really bring anything to the table. Makes decent filler. 4/10. He would merit a 5/10 if he joined slightly earlier, but once he comes along he isn't required to be used so he doesn't really have that extra utility.

Also notice I reworded a few of the rules because it was kind of weird to just copy and paste them over and over when they weren't really my words. Only the language has changed, not the content.

  11. Dat Rules (stolen/borrowed from Integrity, which where then copied from the FE10 ratings)

    - Ratings are assumed to be on Normal Mode.

    - Votes need some explanation regarding their gameplay performance to be counted. If somebody else said what you want to already, quote them explicitly.

+/- ≤1 point extra regarding personality/appearance is encouraged, but no more. If you exercise your bias privileges, please do so explicitly.

    - Numerical votes out of 10, or something proportional to it. Make it easy to calculate for my sake.

    - Every ranking phase ends whenever I get home from school, between 1500 and 1600 EST.

    - I will insist you do not use the "Not X" reason on any character, where X is another unit. If you do, your vote will be thrown out.

    - "Recruits X" or "takes you to X chapter" arguments are explicitly banned. C'mon, people, this shouldn't need to be a rule. That's not gameplay performance.

    - Assume that the character in question is being recruited.

    - Similar to the "Recruits X" rule, do not use "she brings a warp staff" or any other justification as an argument.

    - Rating a unit too low because you think its overrated will make me throw away your vote without mercy.

    - I withhold the privilege to tell you your rating is bogus and demand you revise it if it breaks any of the above. I will not throw out votes anonymously, you will be informed and given a chance to revise.

    - Scrolls do have impact on a unit's rating. Though they are counted as a seperate point, but no more than +/-1. So that means one point for bias and one for scrolls!

Overall solid as a mounted staff user. I find she is often underrated because of her low staff rank, but her combat is decent, she has her own ranged sword, and Charisma is extremely useful even if you don't feel she is suitable for combat. 8.5/10

  12. I guess I'll take over this since it's one of the few things that keeps me posting

One of the best units in the game, Graphcalibur has monstrous utility and dealing magic damage is a huge boon in Thracia

    9/10

  13. I really, really hate it when people pull one counterexample and use that to go "see, not true!" While it's definitely not equal to overall strength, I'd say there's a pretty strong correlation at least.

Disclaimer: That's my opinion, feel free to disagree, I apologise if I've offended you, etc, etc.

Kogmaw (AP and AD builds), Ryze, Morgana, Karthus, Morde, Veigar, Yorick, and Urgot are all other examples of top tier picks that either have no mobility, mana problems, or both and are still successful. Granted, they are mostly old champs, but they are not weak whatsoever.

Mobility is only one kind of strength.

  14. An all-around solid, but not exceptional unit. One of your more reliable units for Manster. Unfortunately, there are lots of unmounted sword + axe users that are just generally more useful than she is, which makes it hard to justify using her in the long term.

    6.5/10

  15. I can agree with that, especially the mana part. But that is not necessary equal to overall strength; Anivia, one of the strongest casters in the game, is one of the most mana dependent and sluggish champions in the game. Nor is it a remotely new trend, really. It's been over a year since Lee Sin's release, for example, who is a pretty blatant example of somebody who is ridiculously mobile and has no costs.

That said, neither Varus nor Darius have any sort of mobility enhancement.

  16. What's a good example of power creep in the last 10 then? Varus seems quite weak relative to other ADs from what I've seen of him (admittedly I don't have much experience with that though). Hecarim is definitely lacking. Lulu is strong, but Janna is overall stronger. Fiora isn't horrible, but the problems that plague other melee carries weren't addressed with her, so I don't think she's particularly powerful. Nautilus is strong, but so are Alistar and Amumu in similar ways. etc etc

Darius is strong, but Xin Zhao, Renekton, Jarvan, Irelia, and others were all stronger in a similar role about a year ago. If anything I think overall power is diminishing.
