  1. Possible builds may include:

    Weapon: Silver Lance+

    Assist: Reciprocal Aid

    Special: Escutcheon, Noontime/Sol (to replenish Hp)

    Passive A: Defiant Def, Distant Counter

    Passive B: Wary Fighter

    Passive C: Threaten Atk

I make the differentiation between -Def and -Hp in that I believe while having either allows the same damage to be taken equally from physical attacks...but having -Hp puts you at a disadvantage from Res attacks vs having -Def. So I feel while on offensive it's better to have either -Def or -Res rather than -Hp (because it won't differentiate who you're fighting between physical or magical as long as you're not losing points in Hp)....i apologize if that sounds confusing

    Best example i can think of is my +Spd/-Hp Setsuna will die against some mages, while a +Spd/-Def can survive them,
    Similarly how my +Spd/-Hp Setsuna will die against some archers/melee, while a +Spd/-Res can survive them

    But I agree on defensive builds not really being reliable in this game...after all most of this game is played on the attacking phase

  3. So I recently pulled a +Hp/-Spd Effie...and was a little disappointed her Boon wasn't +Atk, but then it got me thinking, most of the builds out there are for offense. I get that 90% of game play you're on the offensive, hence why most of the builds are made for the attacking phase, but for teams that are built for the enemy phase or even defending in the coliseum, natures like the Effie I pulled may be better suited then?

    In any case, I've found that natures with bane's that are -Def /-Res will always be better than -Hp in terms of offensive builds. And vice versa boon's that are +Hp will always be better than +Def/+Res for defensive build.

    That seems like it COULD be pretty good, though it means you have to work with a different A-skill other than Defiant Speed since otherwise it kind of defeats the purpose of having that. Personally, I tend to prefer working with what a unit has if the skills are good to begin with, so I'd be more inclined to choose something that doesn't clash with it so much.

    Thanks for the input, A-skill will more than likely end up running with Triangle Adept...so throughout his speed will be neutral

  5. Now with the mention of giving Brash Assault to Lyn, I'm really starting to wondering a +Spd Lyn is really that good? I mean she chould be -Spd but as long as she's below 50% HP she'll double anyone. Maybe my Boon would be better if it were +Def instead...

    As for Brash Assault, it's to let her double all the melee units (most sword lords, like Lucina) that she can't normally double. Brash Assault in conjunction with Desperation basically turns Sol Katti into a Brave Sword (without the drawbacks) at <50% HP, which is highly attractive to a lot of people, even moreso because Lyn is literally the only character that can pull this off (since normally Desperation and Brash Assault can't be used in conjunction since they're both B skills). 

    Thanks for the reply. Do you know what the requirements between Spd difference is in order to double or be doubled?

    Speaking of Lucina...anyone on thoughts of putting Renewal on her?

  7. I've got a +Spd Lyn...so she nearly doubles everything anyways (please correct me if I'm wrong). Yet, I'm seeing a lot of mention of Desperation or Brash Assault as skills to inherit. Her Sol Katti already gives her an innate Desperation, and with her high speed she usually follows-up/doubles most opponents that counter anyways if they don't already kill her at less than 50% HP. Can someone explain why these skills are recommended? I feel something like Vantage or Quick Riposte would be more useful no? Thanks.

    Thats my Robin! Good thing about +Def is that you get a bit extra ATK when Bonfire is active. Takumi is not an issue. Only +Spd Takumi will double but he's going to do a pittance of damage. Sadly, its not going to save you from a +SPD Kagero, but you shouldn't encounter many of these. 

    I like it for sure, although the extra bit of Atk for Bonfire I believe is only an additional 1 damage. Do buffs affect Bonfire?
     

    Apparently despite being doubled by +Spd Kagero...if (M)Robin is +Def he'll still survive the hit and finish her off so there's that...but I guess with all that said +Spd is still better solely due to receiving less damage by virtue of only being hit once?

    I know (M)Robin boon/bane has been discussed a bit already...but nothing with regards to his Boon being Def.
