  1. Personally,  the Hero class is one of the best classes, because they hit hard, can tank pretty well, and are fast. They also have access to 1-2 range since they get access to axes, making them utterly fantastic.
Also, Dark Flier gets a particular mention here for allowing access to arguably the most broken skill in the series, Galeforce (even though their stats are inferior to any other promoted magic or melee class).

EDIT: Also,  Druid class is just so cool, especially because Canas.

  2. I really like this idea. Now if there was a way to rewrite/expand the 3DS games...
FE8 is probably my 3rd favourite game in the franchise (only behind Echoes and Blazing Sword), so a rewrite to make things even more interesting would be freaking great.

  3. Garon and Mikoto - I have no problem with the premise of Fates' story/stories. It's the execution of it that annoys me. I think Garon should have been more like Rudolf, as in he genuinely cares about his children. (Not saying who Rudolf's offspring is in case you haven't played Echoes yet. If you haven't, go pick up a copy... please.) I really think Garon could have been a good villian. I also think Mikoto shouldn't have been written off as early as she was in vanilla Fates. Mikoto should have been another villain, IMO, instead of being Japanese Emmeryn.

Peri - I could do an entire rewrite of her, because she COULD have had potential. However, that would take too long for this one little thread. So I will link it in my signature once I'm done with it.

    Echoes stuff:
Does expansion count as rewriting? Well, I hope it does, because I'm putting it here anyways. I do say I like all of characters present in Echoes, and I do feel like a lot of them have distinct and enjoyable personalities which are quite easy to detect even after only a few seconds of them being on screen. However, a few don't really get enough screen time to actually flourish. Some prime examples for me are Kliff and Tatiana. Also spoilers ahead, possibly. I'll just put the whole thing in a spoilers tab just in case.

    Spoiler

Kliff - Although I do think that Kliff is a good character, you barely see him at all. Heck, you could cut him from the game and people would be like "huh, wasn't the third villager a guy before?" He only gets one support with Tobin, which, although a good support, kind of confirms what we already know about Kliff's personality: standoffish, unsocial, , etc.. Maybe he should have gotten more supports, perhaps one with Alm, Gray, Luthier, or maybe even Clive and/or Forsyth. Heck, I could just write a list of supports that should have happened for everyone (which I might do... later). Yeah, so I really do like Kliff, but we don't see enough of him.

Tatiana also doesn't get enough depth, IMO. She DOES play a pivotal role in recruiting another character, Zeke, and he already HAS a lot of backstory (because he's Camus). However, I'm slightly irritated that we don't get to see her personality for too long. She also only has a singular support with Zeke, although it is sweet. I think this should be expanded upon. Mathilda should be included as another support, because they both have lovers in the army. I also feel that Silque should also be included as a potential support partner, because they share common ground in the fact that they are both driven by faith, and are both members of religion. I like Tatiana, and her relationship with Zeke is cute, but it's sad that she doesn't get more character expansion.

I'm struggling to believe Arthur could even possibly have a 99% hit chance. Did he just happen to be fighting a Lance unit with the worst Avoid possible?

Normal Mode + Promoted + Support Bonuses. Guess that didn't help, did it?

Assuming Anna believes in inheritance. She might, but on the other hand she might be a mother who is against any form of handout and will force you to learn the way of bareknuckle business, economics, and finance from scratch. She'll get you to open a lemonade stand at age 4, tell you to expand it to ten locations in the next six months, and using some of her vast accumulated capital, and form a rival lemonade company to try to put you out of business.

Well, Anna isn't COMPLETELY heartless. I mean, she'd probably raise me to inherit her vast conglomerate mercantile empire. That or I get a SMALL loan of one million gold.

Truth is, Anna is a deity herself and thus is holy blood.

Also, I guess you'd just have to discern from the Anna's by scent like a dog.  Like, does this Anna smell like ocean or mountains?  Or does she smell like she's been stabbed and lacerated a few times?  Or perhaps you'd just have to weigh each one's coin purse, and you'd eventually get so good at it that you'd be able to tell exactly how much money is in a purse.  Yeah, the Anna's probably all make a lot of money, but surely they don't earn the exact same amount.

I'd have the Holy Blood of RNGesus... which is most definitely NOT me.

Trust me the last time I've gotten a 5* in Heroes is more than 30 summons ago. 89 orbs and 3 free summons gone... oh well. Could be worse. I could be dead. Or not have my 5* Effie.
I also missed a 99% in Fates. It was Arthur. Of course.
I ALSO lost Lance in Chapter 4 of Binding Blade due to a 2 percent crit from the boss.

  6. I have quite a few but I'll just start with these:
    Hellbent Theme:
    Chandelure
    Banette
    Gengar
    Jellicent
    Dusknoir
    Spiritomb

    Oliver Approves Theme:
    Primarina
    Gardevoir
    Milotic
    Roserade
    Mienshao
    Bellossom

I'm looking for the knight sprite and definitely can not find it. Also the colors are not aligned for the ranger sprite but I guess everyone can fix it by themselves.

I don't know if its labeled something else or I don't have it, but I can't find a normal shaman in fe recolor and this.

The Armour Knights and Shamans are known as Lieutenants and Sorcerers in FERecolor.

  8. I don't have any screenshots of this, but during Pent's Chapter...

    Spoiler

I killed Efta (secret boss) and promoted Pent to Archsage via the Heaven Seal.

When I finished the chapter, the game glitched out and reset, and all of my progress on all of my save files were gone. Is this supposed to happen? I know I was using a loaded Gameshark Snapshot save, so I suppose this could have been that. But it's still rather severe.

Also, some of the bonus content causes the game to crash, and the save file is lost because it saves right before the content loads and crashes. The only aversion to this is by using save states to rewind.

Overall, this game (yes, I call EN its own game) is very nearly as good as Vanilla Blazing Sword and it's even better than Binding Blade. But there are a still few bugs to fix.

  9. Fujin Yumi gives Pineapple instant Acrobat skill and is overall a good unit. Also, I find Tomato to be a very good unit, and easily the best mage in Conquest from my experience (apart from Ophelia when you pair Samurai Odin with Elise but since you have to use Odin at all to get her she suffers in availability.)

  10. If were judging purely on Awakening, then Owain and Cynthia. If you include Fates as well, then Inigo/Laslow > Owain/Odin, and Cynthia still reigns supreme.

I like Owain for his entertaining character, even if he's only an average unit IMO. I also love Cynthia, because she's a great unit and fun character, especially in her conversations with Severa, where Cynthia treats her like a villain, and she kinda is. I like Inigo as Laslow more in Fates. Sure, character growth isn't TOO much, but he's a much better unit than in Awakening IMO. Second favourite girl is Nah. Her supports are pretty good, especially when I ship her with Yarne.

Also, (since I don't really have a place to put this), I felt a lot of characters from Fates were recycled from other games, including Awakening. Cynthia's heroic nature is pretty much a two-dimensional version of Arthur and Percy's characters minus the luck factor.  And, although Benny did it better, Brady still did they "appearance belying the personality" thing first. And Oboro seems like a recycled Severa (not Selena from Conquest), since they both act like dipwads. And Azura seems like a ripoff of Lucina and her whole "It's nothing, don't worry about it," thing. I'm sorry, this is just how I feel. I'm not saying that Awakening is the paragon of character originality, but it's still pretty good.

  11. Funny. I thought I was the one who had unpopular opinions. For example, I hate Ocarina of Time, since it played terribly and it's story was only decent, and the controls were god awful, even on the 3DS. Megaman wasn't fun, it was repetitive and tedious and the control didn't feel "tight," they felt clunky. CS:GO, well, I played it for about an hour, and I can honestly say it's nothing special, as well as having more balancing issues than the first generation of Pokemon. Speaking of Pokemon, Pokemon Go is a waste of time if you don't have data, and a waste of time if you do have data. I also find Pokemon Black to be my favourite all around. I barely remember all of the Pokemon from Gen 7 but I can remember most, if not all, of the Pokemon from Gen 5 and even Gen 6.

  12. TBH Zephiel, Nergal, and Lyon would be awesome. But the ones I want more are Ephidel (since we didn't get a fight with him in FE7 and we all wanted to punch him in his morph face), Sonia (because if they depict her in the game the same as her official artwork... well, there's gonna be a lot of money flowing in), Idun (so we get a bossfight that isn't 30 seconds long),  and Valter (because, like Idun, his boss fight was so freaking easy).

  13. In FE7: Priscilla is a great healer, and has much better mobility than Serra. Also, the only playable Valkyrie in the game. Heath is often forgotten about, which is strange, since his supports are pretty good. I also find Wil to be a much better archer than Rebecca (here come the flaming arrows).

In FE8: Rennac is pretty funny, and is better than Colm. Artur was my Sacred Stones MVP. Tana is by far my favourite pegasus knight.

In Awakening: Meh, everyone is pretty much loved to death in that game, so nothing there.

In Conquest: Shura is amazing. Would've liked more supports though. He's the kidnapper of Azura, yet doesn't get a support with her. Odd.

    What are your underrated characters?

  14. This is tough, since I like most of the characters in the games. In total, gotta go with Karla, Colm, Miriel, and Kana. Karla is pretty much useless, and her personality is pretty much Priscilla's, but it's recycled. Colm is a jerk, and not even the funny type of jerk like Rennac is. Miriel gets benched as fast as Kent does in my FE7 playthroughs. Also she's a rather uninteresting character. Kana is pretty much a smaller Corrin, but is pretty much useless since she can't wield the Yato (not from my experience anyways).

Welcome to the forest The ZakkAttack!

Don't worry; while there are many hardcore gamers here, we still have a fair share of "filthy casuals." I myself am one in Awakening, though I tend to raise the stakes in Fates.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

    Thanks!
