Honestly I hope not. The game already dumps 8 units on us right at the start. Getting 4 more right away seems like overkill, and will draw people into spreading EXP too thin.
Even as DLC, I'd kind of like if the game makes us do something interesting to recruit them. Maybe an Auxilliary battle quest where we fight them, or an item we need to find to get them to join.
I mean, they could still be associated with Jeralt’s Mercenaries without immediately being available for battle? I would love to see Paralogue recruitments though.

Interesting......... so Yuri is the only one that doesn't support a house leader. He doesn't support any Church/faculty members either, so I wonder where his allegiance lies. I wonder if he's not aligned to the church at all. It's hard to say.
I wonder if they're associated with Jeralt’s mercenaries and Byleth? Then they join whichever house Byleth becomes the professor for.

I just thought another question, about the Byleth in the Crimson Flower ending
Why does Byleth survive? If I understand correctly, Byleth was dead at birth and if he is alives now it's just thanks to the crest. But in the ending the crest disappear and Byleth heart start beating for the first time.
I mean, I'm happy it ended that way but I don't understand why.
SpoilerDidn’t Byleth’s heart start beating earlier in the story when they awakened Sothis’s power? I assume Byleth survives because their heart was functioning normally by the end of CF route.

One thing I did in my first playthrough to ensure I got the paired endings I wanted: I saved viewing characters’ A support conversations with the characters I didn’t want them paired with until the last couple chapters. I don’t think characters can gain Support points if they have a pending conversation? At least it doesn’t physically appear on the battlefield:

Uh, how about this one?
I’ve had something similar to this issue happen with me. My unit had a follow-up attack, but they were just staring at the enemy... I pressed [Start] and that seemed to work.

I wish they took into account you reading the stuff in the library before certain points in the game. Although, not everyone would do that. Still, I feel like Byleth is kind of just being forgetful in game or something.
Well, you could say that
SpoilerSothis
was an amnesiac too.

Who do we think the new characters would be? I’m leaning towards the obvious: Anna. But they could pull another Shadows of Valentia and have the TCG characters brought in.

Yes
That’s great! Definitely won’t be as much of a hassle as I was thinking it would be!

I've hear that you can change difficulties, but I'm not sure about gender specific supports.

I meant more along the lines of skill levels and abilities. For example, would I be able to boost male Byleth’s Lance skill if I’ve only used female Byleth before?
-
Will choosing a different Byleth affect what you can unlock (besides, obviously, supports)? I’m currently playing female Byleth in the Black Eagles route, but I plan to use male Byleth in the Blue Lions route. Are you also locked into that previous file’s difficulty settings like Fates’ “Branch of Fate”?

Yes I saw that! But IMO that's shaky, at best. I'm really confused with these endings, if that's everything. Let's wait and see!
If I’m reading this ending correctly, then...
SpoilerI assume that ending is the same regardless of which Byleth you choose. So M!Byleth would also have a “shaky” ending with Eldegard.
I could be wrong though.

also the risen are explained in the Tower and the ruins of time where you recruit Morgan is also in the ruined city of Thabes.
SPECULATION: Since Morgan appears in Thabes, do you think it's possible that Morgan was actually trying to go back further in time than any of the other children to stop Grima from even being created in the first? Though, this would probably conflict with Naga/Tiki's actions.

What skills are on the Deliverance DLC Lances/Shield? I couldn't find that info on the main site.

I've noticed people tend to give other characters a pass for things that they use to hate on Faye. For example, Clair is a bitch to Gray in the C-support and B-support. And Tatiana doesn't really have much going for her character outside of "I love Zeke!"
The differences from those two being that Clair has a little bit more characterization besides being just "bitchy" or "lovesick" and that Tatiana's feelings for Zeke are reciprocated.

I wish people would stop trash talking Tharja in all of these Faye threads. Yes, she's a bit morally gray and has an obsession with Robin, but there is much more to her character than just that.

Was the list of generic units that are summoned by non-FE amiibo included in the datamine?

Thank you they never showed it coming in their DLC trailer so that was strange when someone said its coming.
It was "Pack 5" in the US DLC trailer. They just said more details about it would be coming out later.

Has anyone generated a comparison picture between Valentia and Valm?
-
Just want to say that I don't claim to have a mastery of Japanese, or the nuances of the language within its own context. Please compare my thoughts to such.
Like many have already said in the thread, I think the notion of Echoes in the title has to deal with the idea that this game a remake of Gaiden, a side story that chronologically follows the events of the first game/Shadow Dragon. Echoes likely refers to the "echoes" of war that reach Valentia after Archanea's own war. The English subtitle, Shadows of Valentia, furthers the idea of this being a side story by referring to Valentia having its own shadows (like Archanea).
Edit: The biggest implication of this interpretation is that "Echoes" isn't a reoccurring title for (potential) upcoming remakes.

Playing as the Archanea cast would be a huge undertaking, I'm not sure DLC could handle it?
Instead of actually playing as them, it could be something similar to Before Awakening with a few Ally characters consisting of Marth and a others.

I’ve only seen the C support so far, but I thought Céline and Alcryst had an interesting setup.
