People who say Alm would've been hated as an avatar are dead wrong. He has an actual personality, everyone doubts him/challenges him/hates him. He doesn't get blindly worshiped either. Hell, Clive only put him as leader because of the position he was born into.
Tough luck to the people wanting a generic Hector of a character. Alm doesn't work like that and wouldn't work. Tough. flippin. luck!

Alm x Faye - I've always wished that the girl with the crush could get the guy. With Catria in Shadow Dragon and Cordelia in Awakening, it bothered me that I couldn't have them support with Marth or Chrom. I just thought it was weird, y'know?
Lukas x Faye - This one is more of just a random pairing. I saw the two, and I thought they would like cute together. Not entirely sure about how their personalities would mix together, but it would be interesting at the least. Lukas is super grounded and kind, maybe he'd be able to get Faye to stop obsessing over Alm?
Valbar x Leon - I know, I know Valbar had a wife. I know Valbar wouldn't be into Leon in a romantic way. But still, I thought Leon's crush on Valbar was super cute, and I definitely wouldn't mind seeing them have an ending together. Not romantically, of course (though I wouldn't mind that either), but like as friends, or roommates or whatever.
Honestly I don't really ship Alm x Celica and Mae x Boey all that much. They're ehh pairings for me. The other pairings that are actually in the game (Tatiana x Zeke, Clive x Mathilda) are nice, but not super exciting for me.
And lastly...
Lukas x Forsyth or Lukas x Python or Forsyth x Python or Saber x Jesse - Now, uh, I...
it's probably just my inner-Nina creeping in...Oh hell no. Let Faye go with Lukas. Faye is nothing but "LET ME SUCK YOUR DICK ALM". Terrible ship leading to an unhealthy relationship. To hell with Faye tbh.

And I'm saying this as someone who likes Alm X Celica but is able to recognize that in the story, the way the relationship is written is not believable and it honestly disappointed me how badly its handed because I liked the idea of the ship, especially after how Awakening described the relationship. (But eh, I always have fanfiction or headcanons to fix this)
That doesn't make any difference to me. Tastes are purely meant to be subjective to begin with. I don't have to like them honestly.

I came to this thread expecting quality ships that are actually compatible. Instead all I get is Alm and Celica bashing and stupid ships like "Alm x Clair" that don't line up well at all.

Yeah... no. Saber is not Celica's type and Alm doesn't like Clair like that. Much better for Clair that she grows and Gray gets her heart. Simply superior. Celica doesn't have a daddy kink. Genny does. Celica doesn't give two shits about Saber, Atlas and others like that. It's obvious big muscly men are not her type.
Alm and Clair have to have their entire personality and characters messed with just to have a functioning relationship (Case in point that Clair/Alm fic) To hell with these awful fanon ships! ...Except Forsyth and Python <3

I don't see any pairings except the Canon pairings working with the story. The thing I like most about fixed pairings is that they have actual chemistry, and are actually well written unlike the other 3ds games where you can force two characters who have no chemistry into a marriage.
Celica/Saber and Alm/Clair is sin and should be kept off this forum. Stop trying to turn this game into a shipping sim

Seriously though, i wouldn't rule out a Genealogy remake just yet. And even if Echoes did somehow manage to break Awakening or Fates sells, we still wouldn't get a Genealogy remake for a while because Intelligent Systems is focusing on FE Switch right now.
We both know they like to pump out FE games once a year. They'll most likely get back into that pattern with how mainstream the series has gotten lately.
