    Here are some team building pointers right off the top of my head:

    1.

    With the sole exception of Arena defense teams, this is the only tip that is the closest thing to a hard rule that all other teams should follow. All teams need color balance. This can be achieved by having three members be one of each primary color OR have two different primary colors and one colorless.

    If you are running a Firesweep archer, then you do not have to worry about color balance too much since the Firesweep archer can handle enemy colors that the rest of the team cannot handle. Firesweep Bow basically means you can run Reinhardt and Azura together or go wild with a triple colorless team.

    2.

    When you are planning out a team, you generally want to plan as if you are only using 3 units, not 4. Many modes allow you to run a Bonus unit, so if you plan out a team that requires 4 units to be viable, that team may have some trouble if you replace one of them with a Bonus unit. You can plan a whole new 4 member team each time you need a new team, but planning out a well rounded 3 member team saves you time and potentially resources.

    This is also why I did not mention what the fourth member's color should be in the above pointer.

    3.

    I am very biased against melee units, so you may want to take this with a grain of salt. You want to use as many Player Phase ranged units as possible, followed by Distant Counter units and Enemy Phase ranged units. I generally avoid regular melee units since the former three types of units are so much easier to use.

    Player Phase units are better than Enemy Phase units because they have a stat advantage, first turn advantage (i.e. they strike first), and turn manipulation (Firesweep, Desperation). You want to use ranged units because they can can attack over obstacles and can utilize the terrain much better than melee units can.

    Distant Counter and Enemy Phase ranged units are used when you need them for synergy (e.g.: Gunnthrá has much better offensive stats than SF!Camilla, but SF!Camilla can run Gronnraven really well to counter BH!Lyn and Hone Fliers to buff NS!Corrin and TOD!Nowi). Another reason to use them is if you are running a Triangle Adept loli team with Y!Tiki, Nowi, and Fae/Myrrh where they all run Lightning Breath or Distant Counter. And finally, the last reason is that the player just simply might not be able to afford another Player Phase ranged unit.

    4.

    It is okay to use tanks, but do try to avoid using pure tanks/walls. If a combat unit is not killing something every time it gets into combat, that unit would be detrimental to your team since that unit is charging the enemies' Specials and activating their Vantage and Desperation.

  2. Hello everyone!! So it seems that dragons are real good nowadays ever since the weapon refinery and stuff, i was wondering what skills my Female corrin should have, shes +atk/-hp btw and +1 merged hoping to make a +10 version one day 

    and is there a page where I can go to asking about team building? I need help forming a total 10 teams lmao and it’s not easy either, I SUCK. One main team tho. And the rest is for arena assault and squad assault thx!! 

  3. Hello!! So I have a nephanee that I don’t really like (no offence) I’m not really a fan of her, so I wanted to give away her unique WRATH skill. Who should take it? Any suggestions? Also I have a 5 star Hawkeye which I don’t really like as well and I want to let him get inherited, his skills are death blow and threaten atk although idk who should have his skills

    That being said, get a feel for what your team does, and where you miss KOs.  My "general" rule is Hone Spd on staffbots/slower units and Hone Atk for just about everyone else.  I have Fortify Res, but that's solely due to some SI quirks.

    You might want to stick with Hone Attack and Hone Speed first then, since they are the most commonly used. If you use two characters regularly, give one Hone Attack and the other Hone Speed. If you use a Dancer/Singer, give her both so it does not really matter what the other members use since you can just change it on your Dancer/Singer.

    You might also want to sprinkle Spur Attack and Spur Speed on some units that you use, but not as frequently as your top two, just to test it out.

    If you are using Blade mages, you definitely need Hone Attack and Hone Speed. You may also want to use Fortify Defense and Fortify Resistance to boost their Blade tomes further.

    You could also try out Savage Blow on your ranged nukes. Savage Blow is pretty fun in my opinion.

    I knew this would come to me eventually but my current arena team which is my MAIN has Ike, Delthea, Azura and Camilla 

    azura- has hone ATK

    delthea- has drive ATK (it's also much preferred from PM1) 

    Ike- threaten ATK 

    Camilla- Threaten DEF

    Points only matter on the first team, so If you have a pony team set as your first team, then I would go with Eliwood; fliers go with Caeda; infantry go with Lloyd; mixed go with Eliwood or Caeda since they have a higher merge potential. If you do not have a set team as your first, then I am not sure if it matters.

    For build ideas, I like to bring hard counters. If I run out of those, I give my soft counters Triangle Adept/Gem Weapons, effective Weapons, and Breakers. You may not need both Triangle Adept/Gem Weapon and a Breaker, but having both does allow you to be a bit more lazy on the strategy side.

    I normally just slap Hone Attack and Hone Speed randomly on my units, since my Dancers/Singers have both, so it does not matter what the other supporting unit has. I have not found Hone Defense or Hone Resistance particularly useful due to my play style, but others might like them.

    For armor defense teams specifically, I like to use Ward Armor since Ward Armor has less positioning restriction than Hone and Fortify. I also prefer Ward over Goad since armor units generally have enough Attack to kill something in two hits, so I just need to increase their chance of survival so they can get their second hit.

    I am not a big fan of Spurs due to positioning restrictions, BUT, you should still pass them around in case a monthly quest or an event requires you to face Veronica and she can be a real pain to deal with.

    Hm... Maybe Drag Back only does not work if the enemy survives and cannot enter a terrain? So if the unit cannot enter a terrain but you killed it, Drag Back will still take effect? That is my best guess.

    I remembered my Cordelia using Drag Back on horse unit on Camu's Grand Hero Battle map and she retreated, so she might have killed the pony and then Drag Back took effect.

    Hello!!! I was clueless about jones and threatens for a while now and I mean I dont understand who should inherit them. Ive been using threatens ever since the skill inheritance update came but I realized that many people use hones, fortifies more often just wondering if these  abilities would fit into play with some of my characters? 

    So basically, what kind of C SLOT SKILLS should these characters have? I APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU GUYS DO :))))) 

     

    the ones I wrote down are the C SKILLS I CURRENTLY HAVE- although if changing them is for the best I will. PLS READ THIS ALL TO UNDERSTAND PLS AND THANK YOU :)))

  8. Ik this is a bit early and all since this banner came out recently and people probably have no clue on how to build her. But I need serious help with DELTHEA.

    delthea is going to be in a team of 4 with group partners such as-

    delthea

    ike or alm 

    azura (dancer)

    camilla or a bow user (if I score a takumi)

    i did some work and deep thinking and I'd say this is going to be my main team. I wish I had a better (green) unit but unfortunately none seem to catch my eye instead of camilla, Julia or Sonya which I don't have.

    i scored TWO Delthea's in my recent pull and so they're merged into one, the IVS for my Delthea are +ATK/-DEF, I don't how to build her so I felt like Serena's forest are the people I needed to ask, everyone here seem to be experts after all. thank you for the assitance!

    Which units to inherit which C Passives highly depends on your team and preferences. If you do not know what you want, just play around the Arena or Training Tower more to see what stats you want emphasize more.

    Hones are generally the best. Fortifies are not so good unless you have a Blade mage to take in more buffs. Threaten Def/Res only works well against melee units, since ranged units can ignore it when they initiate an attack against you on enemy phase.

    If you have not done so, prioritize leveling up Azura and Olivia first. Dancers are super helpful in the game for training, Grand Hero Battles, and the Arena.

    I cannot think of any stellar team composition with just the units you listed. Since F!Robin is the only green unit you listed, so she would be required to handle blue units; she will also need Gronnraven and Triangle Adept. Azura is a dancer, so she can work in any team; you should also give her Wings of Mercy and Hone Atk. Cordelia is also amazing, but you might want to replace her Astra with Luna and Triangle Adept with Life and Death. Celica is great as is, but if you want to make her better, you can replace her A Passive with Life and Death or Fury, and give her Desperation or Swordbreaker.

    If you have Cecilia, Camus, and Ursula, I highly recommend training them in addition to Xander and Leo that you listed to make a cavalry team. Cavalry teams have access to Hone Cavalry and Fortify Cavalry that significantly boosts up their stats. With a cavalry team, you will be able to have a stable and decent Arena Feather income every week.

    So it depends on me basically? Okay well would Camilla work? An axe user who inherited iotes shield in order to be equal with archers 

  10. Hi everyone I wanted to ask this since it seems that everyone in the arena wields Atleast one. Is HONE, FORTIFY, ETC preferred more than threaten atk, def, spd etc? 

    And if it's not too much trouble I'd like some help forming one amazing team.

  11. Sorry to interrupt, but since this is the so called "Permanent death" will I be able to use the characters that have fallen during battle outside the tempest trials? Like the arena, training tower and story maps? 

  12. Does anyone have suggestions for mae? I have nothing for her A slot, I was thinking of breath of life for her C slot but second opinions are good as well. She's apart of my second team and the only blue Mage in that team of celica, Boey or Lukas and Genny (if I get those two) thank you everyone! :) 

    mae is +atk/-def 

    tempest trials are coming up and I hope to make good use of her high attack power.

    Corrin - Fury, Desperation, Fortify (something).  Fury will offset the HP loss, and give her Res to her name.  Desperation because she'll have 40 Speed, which doubles a giant chunk of the cast.  Fortify (something) is for Celica's sake.  31 Defense on counter-attack is pretty damn impressive, and that can be bumped to 35 with Fortify Def.  Fortify Res gives Celica 29 Res, which isn't shabby.  Assuming you went the Hone Spd route on Celica, she'll have 44 Speed, which doubles every neutral vanilla character (skills not included).

    Celica - Hone Spd/Atk in the C slot, and Reciprocal Aid as the assist.  Her goal is to get slightly less than half of Corrin's HP, for Desperation.

    after reading all this it did help a lot, I'm gonna get started immediately on my hero builds. Thank you again! I apologize for being dumb and not posting along with the other recent message :(

    Celica - Assist depends on the rest of your team (Rally Stat if your team's noticeably lacking something, Draw Back/Reposition otherwise).  C skill also depends on your team.  I'm a fan of Hone/Fortify skills.  A Spur can work, if you have someone like Eir taking care of your buffs.

    Corrin - What she does with herself heavily depends on the rest of your team, as well as what you want out of her.  In other words, since you stated that she's one of your mains, can you post the rest of your team?

    while waiting for advice I decided to do a little of my own info finding and it seems that I patched up my Camilla quite well.

    all I need is some skill inheritance assistance on-

    Celica +DEF/-RES - I don't know what her assist should be, I was thinking of reposition but I need a second opinion, I also don't know what c skill I should give her. 

    female Corrin -HP/+SPD -I'm having trouble picking out her A, B, and C skills, for The C slot I was actually thinking of threaten RES but I need second opinions. 

    they are both my top priorities right now because they are part of my main team. 

    My main team will very much include-

    celica (red), azura (dancer)(blue), camilla (green), f Corrin or m Robin (blue).

    heroes- 

    f corrin:  -hp/+spd

    camilla:  -hp/+def 

    celica:  +def/-res 

    Edit: I was going to use m Robin or azura or Elise along with these three units, they were going to be my main team.

  19. Hi everyone in Serene's Forest Forums! I'm new here, just happened to join recently today and require help In skill inheritance for my heroes. All suggestions are appreciated especially opinions! Thank you so much and so sorry for disturbing you all :)

    Azura (Priority) note**- I kind of want to make an azura who can fight and sing. Nothing like Fury, wings of mercy. Although I'm not entirely sure. If you guys could state the good things of those skills, that's would be appreciated :)
