  1. I actually did think about it, but using an Structure Deck would be more fun in my opinion. Just like having pre-built things and not having to rely on luck in sealed pack play. Been to too many Yu-Gi-Oh sneak peeks to know about bad luck. 10 Support cards with Fighter's Emblem tend to go very well when building a deck that goes full-on aggression. Especially with cards like Ogma and the fighters that gain attack during your turn, they actually do something when played out on field, which is great. As for Defender's Emblem, not so much -> It's good to have the Defence when your being attacked and get it, but the value you get from it is just like being supported by a flier (30 support), which is much better than having only 10 support from Knights while attacking. The majority of fliers being played have more useful effects than Knights, who just gain power when being attacked by a non-tome attack. So, in fact, similar to thieves, unless Knights get more useful effects any time soon, they won't be seeing as much play in the current meta game (Intelligent Systems why you hating on Knights and Thieves?). Yeah, cards like Shiida4 and Narcian4 tend to have a pricey tag not only because are they Super Rare, they have 30 Support, and they have useful effects while out on the field. In Shiida4s case especially, since Series 1 is older (older cards tend to get more expensive in a Card Game, especially if they're good). 30 Support will always be valued when your opponent fails to defeat you by 10 attack, which is a big difference. In a game, I would say at least 3-4 times you would fail a support. Could be higher or lower, depending on luck (it is a luck based thing). If you didn't fail a single support in a game, I would say you're blessed by a god or something. But when failing supports matter the most is when you fail and get hit because of it, especially when you get hit by a 40 power unit who gets supported by a Flier, and you fail your support (assuming your Lord is 70).
  2. I haven't played FE 2, and FE4 and FE5 hate me so I won't list em :p FE6: Lilina FE7: Hector FE8: Ephraim FE9: Naesala FE10: Elincia FE11: Caeda FE12: Linde Awakening: I was gonna say Robin, but uh... Lon'qu Fates: Ryoma
  3. I purchased this Book myself and I gotta say, that I love it despite not knowing any Japanese. Love the concept arts and all the sweet minor details.
  4. Sealed pack play? Well I guess if you put it like that, then anything is nearly doable. Play the way you wanna play though. They're your cards. Just have fun :p
  5. You return it as normal after revealing it, yes. Your opponent doesn't shuffle the deck afterwards. In a gameplay point of view however, it isn't as strong as you would normally think. 1) Thieves only have 10 Support, this is huge especially when you miss / get defeated as a result of being supported by one. 2) Checking the opponent's top deck isn't as worthy as you may think unless your opponent is playing 10 Supports, and you can manipulate that information by attacking with a weaker unit to score a hit. But because the norm is no one runs 10 Support, or only the copies of their Lord with 10 support, your more likely going to hit them anyway if you run a consistent amount of decent supports (archers and fliers). 3) There's also better options when it comes to playable cards majority of the time, so thieves usually have the short end of the stick and never get played because their effects aren't optimal enough to outweigh the fact that they have only 10 Support. Thing is, Thieves can be good with better decent effects and more attack (they really should have as much attack as a Myrmidon or Mercenary). It's unfortunate, but I guess that's how it is.
  6. None of the PRs in the game get over the top except like... maybe guidebook promos and they aren't too bad to find price wise. Gameplay isn't an issue for the Felicia / Flora cards, it's how to obtain them: Which is from the cipher caravan and they get expensive on auction sites :p Other expensive promos are the swimsuit Sakura and Elise, which are Comiket Exclusives. In short it's the method to obtain them, not gameplay wise.
  7. They literally just got released with the Caravan events, they ain't doing reprints for those any time soon :p
  8. Play whatever you feel like is fun basically. Once you have a few games you'll realise what your favourite is and probably focus on the one deck, but oh well. Keep playtesting, it's a pretty fun fast game (or it can be).
  9. https://join.skype.com/rdItAQNd9MUE There's too many Timothy Peters on Skype, don't know which one to add to the chat, so here's the link if your interested. Most of us have migrated over to Discord now though. https://discord.gg/0bF9eX4sPYeoEar4 (And you need to be on Discord to be contacted for the tournament in the first place so, better now then later right)
  10. It's not mandatory, you can choose to do it or not. I've fixed the cards themselves on the Wiki to represent it.
  11. I know a few Canadians in the FE Cipher Discord, come join us and say hi. :p https://discord.gg/0bF9eX4sPYeoEar4
  12. Priam's effect only applies with he is on the field (which is either the vanguard or rearguard), not in the Bond Zone. Same with Cost 1 Corrins. The Bond Zone isn't part of the battlefield, which their effects only apply in.
  13. We should get that Thread name-changed to Frequently Asked Questions because that's what it is used for :p. As Astra said, class changing is not deploying, and Sothe cannot use Bane on a unit that class changes. He has to do it on a unit before it is class changed.
  14. Is it as you say, if I were to change the deck I would do the exact same things you suggested. You could also play Cordelia4 instead of Cordelia3 but I guess it's player preference. You could also replace the Robin with Tharja instead as I guess. I'm not sure if playing Green compliments Lucina but if I were to build Green Lucina, I would probably build it like this too. Well done I suppose. EDIT: Oh right, I didn't notice the low flier count. Make sure you at least have 16 in the end. Don't wanna have it coming back to bite you.
  15. Well, unless you actually want to buy stuff from it (rip wallet), it's pretty much useless new to us.
  16. It's usually 3 months per booster set release, that's pretty standard. But the information that comes in for them usually comes in between a month beforehand so we do get boring long days of nothing happening.
  17. I'm actually thinking it could either be Thracia 776 + Sacred Stones or Awakening and Shadow Dragon again. One of these choices.
  18. We've mostly migrated to discord but it's fairly active at certain parts of the day -> https://discord.gg/0bF9eX4sPYeoEar4
  19. Tsubasa hasn't really gotten any decklists but you could probably form one by looking at a Sirius deck and swapping the Sirius with Tsubasa (and possibly fit Shiida1 Mirage in there). Deck would have to be focused on Tsubasa4 of course though. Yes, Corrin's Dark Surge works when you hit their MC because when they take an orb, it means they were destroyed / defeated. As for deck building tips, if you don't know what to build, check out the competitive deck thread, it's full of decks that won in Japan. http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=57965&page=1 As a general consensus, you need to decide what kind of build your aiming for, play the best possible cards for that colour (it all depends on the Main Character you use of course) and then stuff a few Fliers in (usually how it goes).
  20. Hello, nice to see someone who is interested in Cipher heh. It depends on what kind of deck you want to build, but normally, you'll only need one structure deck unless you want multiple copies structure deck exclusives. You don't need to buy 3 structure decks to get a powerful deck at all, maximum 2 at most. It'd be a waste of money unless you really needed some exclusives. Most viable builds end up with two colours I find. It's mostly deck dependant but you can start to see the benefits of other colours if you run more than one. Most competitive Selkie builds are White and Black, refer to the competitive decklist thread: I find it's more like Magic (slow but can be fast) than Yu-gi-oh, it depends on what kind of deck your using and the kind of deck your playing against. Games can take around 20-40 minutes depending on each player's deck. It doesn't really get decided in the first turn, but rather it is possible to end a game on Turn 3 / 4 (aggressive decks). Luck is also a huge factor (you don't want to fail a majority of your attacks).
  21. If you attack an MC and they take an orb, then it counts as them being "destroyed". As long as they let it through, Sol will activate. I'll make it a little more clear on the Wiki, "defeats" an enemy sounds a bit better.
  22. Series 6 sleeve designs revealed: Left to Right, top to bottom Sigurd, Dierdre Laquesis, Charlotte Basically. Same release date as Series 7.
  23. If you're referring to Fire Emblem TCG that ceased a long while back. If we're talking about Cipher then yeah, there is a Fire Emblem TCG in the form of Cipher. (Currently only in Japan).
