combined with Random encounters and i nope out. I know you can turn them in the remaster but eh.
ATB is actually one of the ones i can tolerate more, but usually for turn based stuff i do need an extra "thing" in the battle system to enjoy them.
Examples from games i enjoy:
Grandia and Trails have the whole movement around the field and turn manipulation thing. My fav. systems out there but sadly usually horribly balanced. Grandia too easy, Trails also went too easy in the 3D era (although i heard the last game fixed that?)
Atelier has the Alchemy system, Paper Mario/Mario&Luigi/E33 QTEs, Radiant Historia and Dragon star Varnir moving enemies around the field to your advantage, TMS Sessions, SMT Press turn, WitchSpring system synergy, etc. Stuff like that i usually need combined with a turn based system for me to enjoy. Although a super balanced and fine tuned "standard" turn based can get me into the groove, too...but that doesn't happen too often lol.
Otherwise the battle system becomes too stale and boring for me around the 10-15h mark, and even some of those i mentioned i nope out at 30h, but thankfully by then those ones are fininshed (like PM or E33).
Bonus Points if the game does something extra/unique with the boss battles: That's something i super loved in Origami King for example.
including funny deaths, like
Evading into a chasm!
Dying at the last touch!
Thanks^^
I honestly don't know much aside from memes and Ranni.
I won't mind some tips and super hard to find secrets, but i usually like to discover stuff by myself!
Since i am busy with both Elden Ring and Nayeli atm, i will sit this one out - and enjoy the popcorn/show however!
If you didn't get enough people by the time i finish my current games (which might take time), i could join if FE8 is still open.
