    • Our hero works hard to completely destroy his disabled friend's fantasy world.

Tales of Symphonia? I mean Lloyd and Mithos aren't that close ig but it's the closest thing I got

A Joker look a like grooms a young boy into becoming a protagonist so he can reobtain his Ben 10 themed Barney costume from the boys incestuous brother's alternate timeline self who is going through his Power Ranger phase

  2. A little bit ago I found a very interesting video called "When Nostalgia gets toxic" by J Reviews. The points he provided included how very idiotic, pointless and very hurtful nostalgia can get when it comes to franchises, when I watched I thought that (not all) Fire Embpem fans are very very VERY guilty of this too. One of the things I noticed back lets say the 3DS era was the countless "back in my day" arguements about game difficulty, waifu stuff or stories, etc or will say shit like "if you haven't played Tharica, Tellius or FE7, you're not a real fan" and it seems like that stupid mentality is still very much around

Things like these were very frustrating during that time so of course when Echoes came out, people really felt like the "golden age" of FE came back...only for people to forget about it. Tbh I really didnt like Echoes and I used to get a lot of flack for saying that and get labeled as a "new fan casual waifu lover" even though I played the GBA games, Tellius and even Shadow Dragon before that.

On the topic of old games, it's also weird how FE fans love to switch up a lot. Radiant Dawn back then wad considered the worst FE game ever but it's now deems as the best and other games should take note of it. It's a never ending cycle, that's not to say newer stufd is safe too i think 3H fans get really defensive when people don't like the game and while I never played it (I stopped consuming FE media after Echoes) I just decided to not stick around for anything new because it's not worth it.

It's easy for me to complain about how the old age of FE is so grand and golden when in reality I can just not buy the new stuff, which is what I did. FE fans will talk about how Camilla needs to stop showing up in FE spinoffs but will continue to buy the games anyway.

Nostalgia is great for rediscovering things but it can also be a curse for people to the point where hiveminds are created.

But enough of my thoughts, what do you guys think? Here's the video in question

It would be useless, i think too.

But adding characters we never saw will be better. Those who were mentionned above but Lorazieh, Elena, Lanvega too...etc. What could be interesting too, especially for Radiant Dawn, will be to add playable flashbacks of some stuff that happened during or before Path of Radiance with a new feature of gameplay, loosing the game. Why not playing the flashback where Greil become mad ? To show the horror of the thing, we can play his friends and fellows trying to stop him but getting killed one by one by a Prime Mad Greil. The reward will be depending on how much turns you resist against him. Same, playing Renning and his brother against Ashnard in Melior, during the invasion. 15 turns to resist before loosing the capital. If someone played Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void, I would imagine those kind of chapters like the one in LotV

      Reveal hidden contents

where we have to resist with all the protoss Heroes against the zerg, but we have to loose at the end.

I would say even the War against Yune but i prefer to have a real full game to narrate us this.

A flashback scenario would be pretty good but where that would be in terms of chapter placing either has to be really quick or go the Awakening route and make it a Paralogue or DLC

  4. I remember back when I first played Awakening back when it came out, I got him to marry the Maiden by complete accident and noticed that he had a secret marriage scene with Sumia, since I really liked their dynamic I literally started the whole game all over again because I wasn't satisfied with Chrom with a average Susan

    Good times

  5. I think she's a pretty good character, it's obvious she's meant for eye candy but when they actually try to flesh her out, it's pretty good and her supports show it too. She's basically the mama bear to her other siblings since Xander never really had time to spent time with Corrin, Leo or Elise and I think it's really sweet, she isn't perfect and that make that clear. Warriors really showed how funny she can be too so I think she deserved the popularity she has gotten up to this point.  It really goes down to who you're asking, no matter how much someone hate this character, she's gonna keep coming back because the casuals know her at this point.

    ... who?

This question kinda stuns me. Like, even if this person were super-famous, I find the question very strange. My response to "What is your opinion on Barack Obama being a fan of Fire Emblem" would be... okay, I'm glad he likes it, I guess?

The reason I ask this is because during the time the hardcore fans were not veey happy that he was getting involved with the franchise when clearly he's playing them for fun and learning the lore more. The worst of it came from his Fire Emblem Heroes reaction stream where he didn't know any of the pre Awakening characters (besides characters like Marth) and the chat was super pissed off at him due to it

My goal for this post was to hopefully maybe get someone who was like that in the past and see what changed now that time has past and he's been unfortnately dead for quite a bit

  7. I thought a good question for everyone here is Etika's time as a Fire Emblem and how people thought about it at the time and if anything changed. My earliest memory of Etika was back in 2013 when he came up to a crowd in New York calling out Jwittz (I was huge on Jwittz during that time) his videos and humor were funny so I stuck with Etika through the very end. When he reacted to Robin and Smash and wanted to play Awakening, I was so hyped to see him play it cause it was basically his introduction to the series.

For the most part my opinion on him being a fan of the series didn't really change because he has such a cool output when it came to the games and just wanted to have a good time, I do recall that a lot of hardcore fans on the other hand didn't really like him getting involved in the series as they apparently blamed him for this "waifu fandom" BS but the way I see it is that he just wanted to learn more of the games and be apart of the community just like so many others, my favorite moments of Etika came from those playthroughs  but I guess it just wasn't enough for the elitists. I wonder what those type of people feel like now that he's dead

Anyway what was your opinion on Etika being a fan of the series and did it change overtime?

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I wish he'd never been recast at all; I do like Adkins' Ike, as it gave him a unique sound, whereas Greg Chun kinda sounds the same in every role he does (at least in FE). But I also like to keep actor consistency across projects. For example, as much as I prefer Laura Bailey's Lucina to Alexis Tipton's, Bailey is union-only, so if they're not going to get her for every Lucina, I'd rather they just cut her from the character entirely and stick with Tipton. And I'd want it to be the same for Ike.

If I recall correctly, Bailey no longer does anime/japanese video game voiceovers in general as she left her other roles like Chun Li, Kid Trunks and Platinum The Trinity

  9. Even though the rumors of a potential Tellius remake has died out for some time now, I still think a good topic would be to wonder if you guys would like to see Jason Adkins return for his role as Ike. Personally I'd like to see him come back, I know people are very mixed with him (this is mostly due to his performance in Fates which wasn't bad either, it was likely cuz it's been a while since he has done the role) but I was always fond with how he would voice him, especially since he's the 2nd longest Nintendo VA to voice a character since Charles Martinet himself. According to his Twitter, he was let go due to online backlash of his performance of Fates which really sucks to lose a job that you have been doing for over a decade

Don't get me wrong, Greg Chun does ok as Lukas and Ephiram but his type of voice doesn't suit Ike and I'm still not used to it in Heroes or Smash Ultimate, if a Tellius remake would turn out to be true, the best way to go in my honest opinion is bring back your long time actor who basically started the whole Fire Emblem having voice acting, it's been time since we last heard of him and I'd like to see him back again.

But that's enough about my thoughts, what do you guys think?

  10. It's still a game I go back to more often than I thought, If I had a time machine and experience it all over again, I'd so do that. it's still tied as my favorite 3ds game next to Mario and Luigi Dream Team.

I won't go into detail about why I love it so much rn (because it's late as I'm writing it, I'll probably make a post about why I enjoyed it so much like I did Fates) but I felt the same way I did in 2013, just having a great time

  11. I know I'm probably gonna get shit from the super hardcore Fire Emblem elitists for this but the way I feel about Fates is the same way I did back then, it was a positive experience but it seems like it's rare for most hardcore fans (mostly here) to say anything positive about the game. People want to say only the gameplay is good but I overall enjoyed the characters, story and everything it had to offer too. I already go into more detail about why I have somewhat of a emotional tangent to the game in this one post I made but it's a game I go back to every now and again

I'll go as far as to say that it's the last good FE game (i'm ready for your paragraphs elitists), especially since I didn't feel the same enjoyment for the game after Echoes yet it's always praised by the elitists as the best FE game yet to me it feel like IS made everything boring and I couldn't get into it and while I haven't played Three Houses yet, just looking at my brother playing it, it doesn't seem promising (he also plans to sell it soon). Hopefully there's more actual topics about the game so we can actually have people formulate an opinion that isn't the same one that people have been saying for the past 6 years cuz there's no way that it's 2022 and the stupid "if you like Fates and have never played the old games, then you're a stupid casual waifu lover 🤓" mentality is still around.

I just wish people looked at these games more like how Etika did, I rewatched his Fates streams a while back and the dude played through it with a positive mind (granted the game was new when it happened but still) even as the months when he was playing he had a more cool outlook when it came to the game meanwhile if I went into someone else's stream about the game it'd just be constant bashing all stream.

All in all, i just hope the people who genuinely like the game finally have a platform to express why they enjoyed it because if we live in a timeline where people now praise Sonic 06 and Unleashed, then this can be the same timeline where Fates can be praised for it's positive because there's definitely more good than bad, who knows maybe someone will make a 2 hour video essay

What's wrong with Three Houses that makes it depressing? And I completely disagree that they stopped trying. If they had stopped trying to make a good game, they would not have collaborated with Koei Techmo to ensure they could create a game on the Switch, nor would they have delayed the game for a Summer launch if they did not want their title to succeed.

Old post but I thought I reply anyway (I barely have time to check on here as much anymore)

Sorry but Koei Techmo made the Switch FE games visually ugly, compared to the early Switch games or even the ones later, Fire Emblem has no excuses for the visuals to still look like a Wii game
