  1. "AHI cares about one thing and one thing only. If blowing up the moon with everyone on it was worth more to them then just abusing everyone one it to work for them, then they'd do it with a smile." An extreme example but she was past the point of mincing words; all it took to understand AHI was being under their thumb for a couple weeks, Marianne was twenty-three years old, born and raised on this moon. If AHI said jump, everyone jumped, and then AHI shot the people who didn't jump high enough. Fortunately, while Azame seemed to be not entirely up to speed on all that was going on, her enthusiasm was infectious and it was a good distraction from her own frustrating thoughts. A single glance at the car told Marianne that she wouldn't be squeezing anywhere if she sat in the back--her figure was impressive, but not that impressive--but she wasn't going to turn down the offer. "Sorry to take your seat, red." She still didn't know his name, but she was sure that she'd get it at some point--Azame's full name and title were already memorized, as was Senri's, and AHI bitch was going to remain even if she got a name.

On the one hand, this would be a nice distraction, but on the other... as much as this was a good chance to figure out things that would be nice to 'borrow' for the rebels, this was also a good opportunity to get a feel for this ship, and her captain. On the off chance that these weren't more AHI-aligned lackeys, it would be nice information to pass onto Alouette. Who are you kidding... nothing ever changes on this moon like that.

"You seemed to have a pretty good handle of things during the fight," Sia took another breath, letting the medicine work its way through her body, "I have to admit that I thought the same way when the Hubble administration came to me when I flunked out of marksman school because of my propensity for weakness and illness. Really just had an tendency for overthinking things... but here I am." There was more to being a captain certainly, but the qualities were at the very least budding. Louise had performed expertly in the heat of combat, perhaps almost too well for her first real combat. There was something in that, and perhaps a lot of it was related to that part on her dossier, but so far... so far she'd been managing it well.

Sia then nodded, "While I would prefer to just... get to work and start figuring things out, I can tell that I'm really wearing myself out, between all of this, and our meeting with Tokiwa... my body handles stress rather poorly, and that compounds itself... I should visit Doctor Delarosa, both for a checkup, and refill for my inhaler... and then I can see about some rest. Not before explaining things though... at this point in the game, not having everyone up to speed as much as possible is dangerous..." Sia then turned to key to start the engine, and then pushed open her door again, "Though, if it's rest I need... I can start a bit now. I am find to drive, but I'd rather not press my luck, and the less I have to recharge back at the ship the better."

Elsewhere, watching what looked like a fight in broad daylight, a short redhead stood a distance away out of sight of the fighters. She knew that she should have probably dragged one of the others along, she simply just didn't know the city well enough on her own. Even with a map in hand, there was too much to figure out--she was probably on the opposite side of the city from where she was supposed to be. She was supposed to find an ice blue haired woman named Marianne, a dancer that was supposed to be performing at Elegy, though in truth, she was an informant, and supplier for them--though Alouette had called her more of a thief and smuggler. The brains behind the theft of what was one of AHI's latest HEX designs, but they'd discovered that they needed a bit more in order to complete the machine--more that they were hoping that Marianne would know where to find.

She touched her blue flower pin, before her hand drifted back down the long white glove on her right arm. So far it looked like things were fine; the taller man seemed to be still awake and moving, but the shorter woman... she was incredibly familiar. She'd not watched much herself, but it didn't take a genius to recognize the Mixed Martial Arts World Champion, further confirmed by her nightmarishly fast combination--faster than her mother's by a good margin. She sighed, and pulled herself away from the sight, they weren't going to need any assistance--she had prepared to assist Kazue, but her help was not even slightly required... what was required was to figure out how to get to Elegy...

"...I knew I shouldn't have come out here alone... Where the hell did Senri go... He was supposed to come with me... Ugh."

  2. "Damn," and a whistle were all that Nyx could get out watching the scantily clad bovine reveal rather devastating magic. Really went to show just how much magic changed the game; she didn't look like much a fighter, but you didn't really have to if you could do stuff like that. Nyx paused and pondered for a moment, before shaking her head, "I can't even wrap m'self around th' basics..." Magic just wasn't for her, and she was fine with that--arrows could do the job well enough too.

So far, so good. Everyone was performing well, as if they hadn't just been fighting downstairs. Or maybe because they had been fighting that they were able to wash over the Islexian forces so effectively. M's warning was echoing out in Nyx's mind as she stepped forward behind Alvira, arrow notched, something told her that things were about to get really interesting...

    Nyx moves to 4, 6!

    ENEMY PHASE TURN 2!

"Attack! We're under attack!" The dying call of the men in the lower levels of the castle did not go unnoticed, and as the Tigers burst into the castle proper, there was no turning back. No sooner had they, the sounds of horns echoed through out the halls. Kazran sitting on his throne, gazing over the map straightened as the horns' echo reached his ears.

"Hell." The surprise in his tone was only masked by the malice on his breath as he turned towards his guards, "The fuck is going on out there?! Another attack!?"

It didn't take long for Cereza to approach, "Kazran, we're--"

"I can hear the horns, thank you. Who is it? A staggered attack from the pirates? No... The pirates were too stupid for a plan like that. Led by that ingrate of a beast... Hell, it doesn't matter. They're here in my castle... My castle. So either they will kneel, or their legs will be broken, so that they can be made to kneel. Cereza, you stay with me. Alphonso! Find Giovanna and tell her that this is her last chance. Tell her to rouse every. man. we have. Whoever dares to strike at me will be brought before me, and everyone associated with them will be slaughtered."

An older man in heavy armor with even heavier weapons looked over his shoulder at Kazran with a grin, "Aye, Kazran."

Cereza turned to Kazran as Alphonso departed to find their tactician, "Are you sure that we should be leaving anything in her hands at this point? She's failed us time and time again; your threats fall on deaf ears you know. Death might suit her."

"And what if it does?" Kazran said, a menacing look in his eye as he hoisted a large axe. "I see this the same way as I did Sylmaria. Whoever attacks us now isn't going to listen to the whinging of one of my standard. She will either find victory against my opponent, or she'll die trying. You're right, Cereza, she is a pawn, nothing more. A good figure is all the woman has left... if she cannot handle the duties of tactician, then that is the only use she has to me... and with you at my side, what need have I of her? If she turns on us, then we will simply kill her. Her magic is not the same as Sylmaria's, nor the same as the demons from the collapse--we have little to fear. Besides... I'm sure you've already crafted something should she... actually turn on us?"

"...Well, well... I shouldn't be surprised that combat gets you to turn your brain on for once. Of course I'm prepared... She'll regret trying to pull anything if she does. Now then... shouldn't we start preparing ourselves for the hunt?"

Kazran grinned, "I believe the only one who isn't ready... is you, Cereza."

Alphonso marched into the main hall, and sure enough, their 'tactician' awaited, pensive.

"Giovanna. I'm sure you can hear the horns. We're under attack. Lord Kazran says that this is your final chance. Marshall all of our forces, and crush the attackers as Lord Kazran did before in the absence of your command." The final words were spoken in a mocking malice, the man hoisting a massive sword over his shoulder. "We'll all be watching..." The man chuckled, and walked back to his post.

  4. "It's fine." Was all Leon got out of Marianne until they got outside. She was sure if she said anything else, she'd have screwed up royally. She had a temper, and she knew that, and the most important thing was not putting Senri in more danger than he already was. That did mean that when she walked out, and Azame greeted her, she was sure that she looked like a pressure cooker about to boil over. "Settled? Yes. Okay, perhaps not. Stupid AHI bitch..." Marianne sighed, and then leaned up against the wall. Marianne looked back inside at Senri and their AHI interloper, before looking back at Leon. "He might be, he might not be... I don't think any of you get how AHI works up here. Only time will tell if she's AHI through and through, or something else. Because when AHI gets bored of people up here, they disappear."

Marianne let out a heavy sigh, "Sorry. Terrible mood after all of that." There was now a bit to consider; AHI was ruthless when it came to maintaining their stranglehold over the moon. Always the possibility that even trying to parley with someone like that had put her into the crosshairs. Not to mention that there was a good part of her that wanted to find someway to pull one over on the biker. "...Well, I'm already too late for where I was supposed to be--no thanks to our friend in there--and if I show up now, I'm just going to get an earful, and I'm not in the mood for that. If you don't mind having me around while I'm simmering. I really can't stand AHI." Might as well try to get something out of tonight... What the hell sort of nonsense is AHI up to that they have... whatever the fuck that thing was? No way that it's human. That tails no augment...

Louise put a hand on her shoulder, and Sia let her talk her way through things, while she deflated back into her chair. This was so much more than she bargained for, and she'd even expected some of it. But now that it was all in front of her, there was simply too much for one force to deal with, especially with AHI likely being anything but compliant. "...You're certainly right. Trying to break things down into particular avenues would make things so much easier for us to deal with... and right now the problem is that we don't have nearly enough information to even begin tackling the issues in front of us... but someone might. I doubt Tokiwa would be so kind as to explain things if we asked, but... right now, one of our problems is that we are simply stretched too thin, and we can't expect assistance--from CEN or AHI. That leave us... with the rebels. They were already going to be... one of our main targets, but they're... even more important. Which makes the fact that we have no idea where to start with them, nor who to look to is frustrating... Especially because we can be sure that there will be rebels who are against AHI for reasons that won't align with ours, but wouldn't hesitate to take our assistance as license to start razing."

There really wasn't a simple way forward. They needed to find an opening, something that they could get their hands into to support then against the maelstrom that they now found themselves in. Sia sighed, and then put the key in to the ignitions, "...Your suggestions are sound, Louise. And I have to admit that they are likely what I would have fallen into had I not been so frustrated with the current situation..." Sia found a small smile, "You might make a good captain in the future. It would be... best for me to not overthink things right now..." Sia sat up, and quickly fiddled in her pocket for her inhaler, and quickly breathed the medicine in before exhaling. "Ugh... all of this concerning information is just piling on..."

  5. Marianne's eye almost twitched, surely it wouldn't have ever been that simply, but now the bitch was basically toying with them; fully aware of her complete control over the situation, and their complete lack. Of course it had to be an AHI dog, someone more than content to just, use whatever was in front of them and discard it however they wish. "...Entertaining?" Marianne couldn't stop the incredulity in her voice, words quickly funneled their way from her mind, to her lips... but Senri was much quicker on the draw, raising his hands and then offering himself to quell any fight.

"...If. You're sure." It took effort to not grind the words on her teeth, her red eyes firmly locked on the biker. There really was nothing that she could do; not without knowing whatever the hell was standing in front of her was, and certainly not with its tail around Senri. Yet another reminder of how much further they would have to go to scrub people like this from the surface of the moon... All she ever had was her words and looks, neither of which were effective here, and she was sure that the helmeted foe would have batted any attempt of physical engagement aside. Not to mention that she couldn't even be sure that she'd last before her issue flared if she even could get him out of there. The only thing she could do, as it had always been, was watch.

Marianne slowly turned to look at Leon, "Let's go. Senri will be fine. We'll... talk later, Senri." Marianne started her way to the door, slowly, making sure that Leon was following along. This is what I get for getting involved with CEN and AHI business... probably just should have taken Senri, and left... What a mess.

Sia let her head fall into her hand. As infuriating as it was, Mick was right; the treaties that AHI and CEN had signed were so ironclad, and favorable to AHI that it might as well have been CEN granting AHI near complete autonomy. The amount of red tape present would have been enough to circle Earth, the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter twice over. Even sending Azame alone with such a machine out there was over the limit of things that the embassy could reasonably do, and it was fortuitous that problems hadn't arisen because of it...

"...My apologies for the hostility. I am well aware that your hands are rather... uncomfortably tied. Your ability to field something more substantive as a search party is wrapped up in a level of politics that would make my head explode." It was for this reason that Sia never planned on walking into a true leadership role; the field was where actions had to be taken, and the politics of it all often boiled down to favorably rather than the lives on the ground. "I unfortunately have to concur... If this was supposed to be a stealth action, surely eliminating a single woman search party would make sense. That poses... a large issue, as that means that any number of people could be involved." Louise seemed to be taking the news about as well as she was, quickly announcing her leave, and departing to wait outside. Suddenly, it was feeling more and more as if they were chosen as fodder. Either they succeeded in their stated mission, and all was well, or everyone on the Dawn died, and then CEN would take more aggressive action--it sounded like this was the first real action they had taken, as Mick had called for reinforcements.

Sia let out a long defeated sigh, before standing up straight again, "Thank you for you assistance, Commander. If you come across anything, no matter how slight, please send it our way. You're not the first person to bear bad news, just the first to bear it in a more concrete light... We'll try to keep you up to date with what we find as well. Also, I'd keep those channels you've gone through about reinforcements open... I expect as we progress in our task here, the brass may be... more amiable to actually listening up." Sia gave the man a salute and a smile, "I'll be departing now, thank you for all that you've done, and will do." Sia turned, and made her way out of the room, arms crossed in front of her.

Sia walked out, and wordlessly tapped Louise on the shoulder, and marched back to their vehicle. Once in the driver's seat, Sia let her head hit the steering wheel. "If it's not one thing, it's another... I don't even know where to begin." Sia looked down and saw Louise's nail, suddenly bandaged. "...Nerves? Ha... I suppose anyone would be losing their mind over what we've just seen and heard." Sia could already feel her body complaining about all of this, the stress of it building to an uncomfortably warm degree. "I'd love to say that we carry on with our day, but we need to return to the ship... too much to sift through right now... and I'm sure that we'll find more as we go." What Sia wouldn't have given for a drink at the moment...

  6. Nyx saddles up, and moseys on over to 3, 10!

    ENEMY PHASE TURN 1!

The head wyvern watched as a force of humans, and monster alike washed over his allies like a tsunami after an earthquake. "Oh fuck. HEY! HEY WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! SOUND THE ALARM! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" The man raised his spear, and looked for the softest target to begin the counter attack with, seeing a very familiar face amongst the targets.

"No fucking way." That was Krystal over there. Empowering one of the other half breeds. He blinked, changed weapon to his javelin, "HEY KRYSTAL! YOU FUCKING BITCH! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" The man's wyvern took off in a frontal charge, perhaps it was out of fury for his companions, or out of some loyalty to Kazran, or perhaps the fact that he'd found solace in her... figure, and been touched by her magic more than once, and seeing it now used on the half breeds was infuriating, but nevertheless, she was going to die today. "YOU FUCKING TRAITOR!"

Wyvern 2 very angrily targets Krystal with his Javelin.

[88, 39] He reared back, and threw the javelin with all of his might, letting his eyes slip but for one moment--he never quite understood why Krystal always wore so little, until this moment, as his spear narrowly slid past her.

    Krystal returns fire!

[47, 63] Whatever sparks there had been before, were now a fireball in the man's face, and now he was basically surrounded.

What-- Dwight!? What the Hell! I, y-yeah, I guess this is traitorous, but-- yeow!!" A javelin very narrowly missed her squishy bits, leaving her fuming!

"Ohhhhh, fuck it! If you care that much then toss your damn spear away and get off your lizard! You cared a lot in the bedroom! Rrrr!" A fireball flew his way, much less powerful than she would've liked, having just spent it all on Tasha... "If you, ever felt a Gods damned thing, for me, beyond how squishy I was, then surrender! Because I've had enough! We've all had enough! Kazran goes TODAY!"

    Krystal gains 10 EXP!

The wvyern lead on the other side took one look at Versaris, and called out, "Boys watch out, that filth has a magical sword... avoid him for now, take out the rest!"

Cav 1, and Wvyern 1 both engage Talulah!

    Wvyern 1 first at range!

[98, 2] I'm not giving my Wvyerns Javelins ever again, what the fuck you had weapon advantage and everything, please hit your goddamn attacks.

    Cav 1 follows up!

[3, 7] Where the Ace Wyvern couldn't, the Cav strikes through Talulah's guard for 4 damage!

    Talulah counters! Bracing Flourish activates!

[9, 93] Talulah quickly unsheathes her sword to deal 19 damage to Cav 1!

Talulah gains 2 EXP, and +1 Sword EXP!

Fighter 2 axes Lati from afar!

[88, 35] Never mind, I forgot this is not a turn where we can hit things!

Soldier 4 yeets a Javelin at Ullr!

    [77, 43] Still can't hit anything~

    Soldier 3 targets Owen!

[70, 89] Owen takes the javelin for 14 damage!

Bow Armor 1 targets Roxanne at distance!

    [5, 26] A strong arrow pierces Roxanne's crystalline armor for 13 damage!

    Cav 2.

    Sari counters!

    [34, 77], [20, 37] He's dead, what else can I say--oh there's a crit. He's super dead.

    Critical for 87!

Sari gains 18 EXP, and +2 Sword EXP!

  7. Marianne watched as Azame quick departed, it really did seem like there was something... more regarding the shipfaring CEN members, and AHI. She felt bad for Azame, but that was tempered by her disdain of AHI, and her concerns over being watched by the likes of them. AHI was not to be trusted in any capacity, they would have, and did, sold a person's future for even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction's profit. "I don't think that's Azame's fault, I'd more quickly blame her if I was to blame anyone from this engagement." Marianne tilted her head towards the helmeted being, content to let herself vent just that much before relaxing. If she was with AHI, she could probably count on her lashing out the moment her feelings--if there were any--were hurt. Marianne sighed, "Can you just let him go? He and I have some business to tend to, and I can already feel my phone going off--we're going to get torched if we're late again. You know how things are on the moon, we fuck up anymore, and we'll be on the streets. We'll both just get out of your hair, and you can go on with the CEN people to inspect the ship." A presumptuous claim, but at this point, she wasn't sure if trusting CEN affiliates was a good idea, the only one that she could be even remotely sure about was the one in the tail's clutches. Alouette was a lot of things, and stupid couldn't ever fit on that list--if Senri was affiliated with her then she could trust him.

"Really, we're just going to get in the way of whatever you guys are planning, so we might as well get out of your guys way. Can you grant us that much, so you can talk with your friend, Leon?"

  8. Alouette stepped inside, and waited as Ichika pulled one onto her lap. The faintest feeling of magic overtook her, the identical to the one that she'd noticed in the carriage, and one of the multitude that she'd felt back when her circuits malfunctioned. The gaze that Ichika met her with when she expressed the importance with which this secret was to remain a secret. "Cursed...?" The existence of cursed items was fairly well known, but... Ichika's look seemed to imply something... darker about the blade. More intriguing still was that there existed magic strong enough to almost completely mask a magical signature. Similar in some respects to what had to have been protecting Arthur... there really is still so much...

Ichika confirmed the blade's power, further affirming that the presence of the blade was partially responsible for the feedback that wiped her out. "I understand... I apologize for any issue that I may have caused with what I saw. That said... from the sounds of it, that ability of mine is why I was asked to take part in this mission. I must admit that my control over what I see when I do that is limited as I have very little experience using it on purpose." Alouette shrank, faint blush appearing on her face, "I can't say for certain that I won't accidentally resonate with your blade again, especially if it's nearby. I suppose that... does bring me to a question, provided that you have warning, is there anything you can do to safeguard the blade? Once again, I will promise not to look into the blade more intentionally, but that is the single aspect of my magic that I don't have complete control over, and you've already seen what happens when I overdo it."

  9. Even as victory had come swiftly, the Tigers did not cheer. Kika and Istavion said the same thing to the Tigers, before they limped back to the boat, "The men upstairs are different. These are the vanguard; upstairs are Kazran's elite--don't make the same mistakes we did." Those words hung heavy in the air, the stench of blood and death a reminder that this was only the first battle, and not even the most difficult to come. Kazran sat above, an Islexian Warlord supported by some of Islexia's finest, men and women who may have fought in the Islexian Collapse, experience that none of the Tigers could hope to claim. Perhaps it was starting to sink in now as they scaled the caves towards Beacon Castle, that for the first time, the Tigers were not acting in self-defense, but assault an enemy's stronghold with all intent to kill. This fight would go beyond that of their normal mercenary work, but even as the stakes rose higher than ever before, one thing never changes, the determination to see the mission through. Only one thing mattered, and remained: Kill Kazran Serdio.

"The fuck do you mean that Micheal hasn't come back? You sent him to get Vermeil and the others not too long ago, Dustin."

A lightly armored man with gauntlet shrugged, "You know he ain't back, otherwise, you'd be hearing all about how close he came with Krystal. Damn beast lover... Don't blame him too much, but you really telling us that you can't find anyone else?"

"Can't really find anyone when we're supposed to have been getting ready to march on the Gaffneys, and then suddenly we get attacked by more of the diseased, and now we're on guard duty--Krystal's about the best you've got, the rest are taken or don't have any interest."

A loud roar came from down the hallway, as a tall, armored man sat atop his mount, "Would you all shut the fuck up? I don't give a shit about your relationship problems, we're supposed to be on alert. Where's Micheal, and Vermeil--Lord Kazran wants a report from the caves, and the damned prisoners."

"He ain't back, neither is Vermeil."

The man let his head roll, "Useless, the lot of you... Fine, I'll go and--" He stopped, as footsteps from the caves started approaching, "Ah, that's probably them, that's--" He stopped again, the footsteps were... loud. Louder than they should have been for two men, even Micheal couldn't have made that much more noise. "What the hell...?" Suddenly, more footsteps, a lot of footsteps, almost as if it were a stampede, and as it came closer, the clanging of steel. Then, the first one burst through the opening, more of them, more of the diseased, but this time, there were a lot more of them, and humans amongst them. "You've got to be kidding me! Sally up! We're under attack! Someone get to Kazran! Tell the garrison, we're under attack! All of you with me, hold them back!"

    MAP START!

  10. Rivane clicked his tongue as the men moved around him instead of facing him down; while his men weren't trained, Marcos had been at this for years--he knew how best to maneuver in situations like this. The two mages unleashed flimsy spells in his direction, swatting the first away with his sword, and letting the other careen by, "I know full well that this is your territory, but I wonder if you realize that the knights are approaching? You are right on something at least, I do want more for our lives--freedom from this accursed war."

Rivane Iron Swords into Bandit 10, and then cantos to 8, 15!

"That's why I'm here tonight, and if there were another option, I wouldn't be. But we have to cut our way through, Marcos, sorry."

  11. Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me... First you warn me about this... whoever the fuck this is, and now they're associated with the HEAD OF AHI SECURITY?!?! Those jitters were back in force; for a moment, she had figured out of the group, she was the most likely to just, flit away and disappear without more thought. But now that the person was AHI aligned, and with the head of security at that, her position was a lot more precarious. She'd been... involved in a lot of AHI's issues, a lot of their... equipment disappearing without a trace, and then inevitably showing up with some rebel faction. Unfortunately, Senri was the closest thing she had to contact that this moment, and he was unfortunately in the grubby paws of one of AHI's many lapdops. The feminine being dropped some droll line about Leon wanting to be friends--if a smirk was a sound, it was all over her words--and Leon wasn't having it. Good... I can work with that... maybe.

Marianne threw on a surprised look, "AHI? She's with AHI?" Marianne frowned, and then shook her head, "That... changes things. Sorry, if you're taking her along them I've gotta politely decline. You're with CEN, right? You know about AHI and their issues with the rebels on the moon, right? Well, AHI's been in the business of trying to stamp out the rebellions--as they rightfully should--but a lot of their... tactics, involve terrorizing people out in the less terraformed areas of the moon." It took all of Marianne's mental focus to not gag as she lauded AHI for trying to deal with the rebels, and not rolling over and setting themselves on fire. "I'm from one of those areas, and I've seen a lot of my friends roughed up just for seeming as if they had something they wanted to know... Can't stand it. I wouldn't mind a chance to see the ship, but if we're being AHI security along, it's probably best that I'm not present. Don't wanna say something that gets me thrown in one of the many holding cells I'm sure they've got around..."

Marianne walked around, and had intended to place herself right next to Senri, before noticing that the beast had wrapped her tail around him. Of course... I'm basically playing... the fuck is it called... the one with the gun, and the bullets... Ruski Roulette? Is there even a way to get him out of here without miss AHI basically letting us walk?! Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh... why can't I just pick the easy jobs?!

  12. Practice, and experience... works like a charm~

Both Leon, and Azame had their eyes on now, which would make it easier to get out of here, "Depends on what you're asking for~" Marianne gave him a wink, "I've been known to be quite helpful." Marianne turned to look at their major threat, and suddenly her heart dropped. They were gone. Rather, they weren't gone, they had started wandering over to Senri. The thing about gambits was that even if they worked properly, there was a lack of information that always made things risky--something Marianne missed, or the target being brazen enough themselves to employ a gambit of their own. Getting Senri up and out wouldn't be too difficult, so there wasn't anything to worry--oh god, Azame.

There was the other issue with such laid plans, maybe she'd shorted Azame's reasoning centers with the performance as she marched right up to the threat, and tried to pull an arm around them, failed, and then asked if they wanted on to the ship. Senri's eyes flicked over several times, the 'please help me' so loud in his eyes that almost felt like he was shouting it. Maybe trying to get on this ship was a mistake, maybe I should have just left Leon, and Azame, and taken Senri with me... Fuck, what do I do?!

Marianne internally panicked for a moment, before hitting upon a possible avenue, turning to Leon. They needed to get control of the situation, and at this moment, only Red was going to be able to. Even if it made her seem a bit more... suspicious in the end, she was entangled now, so she had to play the field. "Hey, you..." Marianne leaned in close, "You need to stop Azame from bringing helmet along. I don't know who, or what they are, but they're not anyone's friend, and I don't think anyone will be happy to see them on the ship. Pull rank, call the captain, slap her ass hard enough that she forgets, I don't care. Do that, and I'll part ways with some information you, and your buddies on the ship might like." Marianne started slowly making her way over to the table, perhaps at least if she wandered back over, Senri would look like like he was going to die. Truth be told, he's probably not even wrong... Why does today have to be the day that Alouette's ill? Where the hell is my contact?! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the field of combat fell silence, aside from the heavy breaths of the victors. Nyx could hear angry, pained shouting from elsewhere in the compound that sounded like Roxanne. They couldn't be sure of the circumstances that led to everything, but if the two that were with the beaten... moth? What exactly was the woman from before anyway? That hadn't quite crossed Nyx's mind in the moment, not when she wasn't pointing a weapon in her direction with intent to kill. Maybe equally as important was the chest that Gean had defended from the grubby hands of one of Kazran's men; better to be in her grubby hands than in one of theirs. "Good toss, Gean. Really stuck it t'em." Nyx sauntered over, and picked the lock of the chest, before whistling, "Damn, ain't this just th' pretties--" She went to go an pick up the spoils, and grunted as it didn't quite move. "...Huh. That's heavier than I figured it'd be... Hell, how's ya supposed to bash a man wit' this?! Someone go git Lani, or something..."

    Nyx gained a Steel Greatsword!

  14. Amy couldn't remember the time that she had been this happy over anything, except that was a lie, the last time that she had been so happy had been receiving her acceptance to Boston. She had been bouncing off the walls when it finally arrived, but this, if not equal in measure was just about the same. Tears rolled down her face, but she almost couldn't care less if they messed with her light makeup, because Tristan didn't believe the Boston fiasco, and he was just so... "Huh?" Tristan finally squirmed his way out her vicegrip, rather, so that he could breathe as she realized that Tristan's face was dead center of her chest. "O-oh, uh, s-sorry! I was just, uh, s-so ecstappy and," Amy brought a hand to her mouth as she caught the portmanteau, and then Avery wandered over, the smirk on her face making clear that she knew exactly what was happening.

"Ohuhyeah, sorryAvery! We were just..." Tristan returned her hug in the middle of her answer, and once again complimented her, "Mmm..." If it had been possible, Amy was sure that more than several puffs of smoke would have left her body in the moment. "...Y-yeah, just, hold on... there's... still stuff... yeah." Amy had no idea how red her face was, but she was sure that it could probably be seen from the other side of the hanger. "L-let's run the diagnostics... Yeah... that'll do for now."

I'm going to ruin him... I can't believe it... How can someone be this... warm and cute, and smart and ugggggggh...

Marianne remained quiet, thinking hard about what to do next. If Senri was right, then they were in danger here, and they needed to not be. The tail really was something far more organic than any augment should have been. Azame was going to take a bit getting their drinks, and she hadn't noticed anything at all, walking straight into the jaws of the beast. "...Hey, Senri, hold this." Marianne stood up, and tossed her jacket at the man, "I'm gonna go make a bet." Marianne flipped her hair, and strode her way over to the counter. If this person was a threat, then there was a reason that they weren't going off of them right now. If that held true, then the quickest way out of there was walking straight up to the front door, and not tripping the traps inside. The best treasures always come in an element of risk~

Marianne slid over to the group, coming up behind Azame, and gently leaning on the ensign's back, making sure that she was right in Red's line of sight. She looked at the bartender, "Reisa... could you have whatever my friend here asked for to go, please? Something's come up, and it would be best for us not to miss it~" Marianne then turned to look at Leon, "Are you the friend that Azame keeps mentioning? I can see that she wasn't just tooting your horn~"

Marianne nodded, "Oh, right, Azame, turns out that I have an engagement fairly soon, so if we're going to go see the ship, we'll have to go now, unless you'd rather wait?" Marianne stood up, stretched, and slowly turned, giving Leon the faintest of glances, turning her back to Azame, and landing a hand on her hip, "If so, then I'll have to go to get ready for that."

  15. Amy shrank as she finished her words, expecting realization to flash across Tristan's face. It tended to happen, once people put two and two together, they understood that she was the student from Boston that got disgraced after being one of the top candidates. 'That was you?' Amelia braced herself for what followed, that was always how it started, in another moment the hundred questions about whether it was true, or if she'd really done it. Then the smile, nodding, and then the wave goodbye, and then--

Suddenly, Amy found her head being raised, her cheeks cupped in Tristan's firm hands. She'd missed most of what he said as she began to panic, but she couldn't miss what he was saying now. It really was very simple, and very direct--but Tristan, unlike a lot of the other engineers, seemed to care very little about the Boston incident, even going so far as to say that he didn't believe it at all. No questions, just an affirmation. Just the simple words, you deserve it as much as anyone else, Amy. Amelia just stared at Tristan, but she could feel herself flushing harder than she ever had. She was sure that Tristan could feel the heat from her face as he held it, all the while, Amy remained frozen in place. She almost couldn't believe it.

The first indication that Amy was still present on this place of existence was a sniffle, and then a tear rolling down her cheek into Tristan's hand... and then Amy reached out with shocking speed, grabbed Tristan, and pulled him in tight, clutching him to her chest. She wasn't stronger than Tristan, but the surprise maneuver left him with little time to do much else but to be drawn in, and she squeezed him against her chest, not quite processing that she was much too large to be squeezing him that tightly against herself. "I, wh, y-y-ou, ahhh, you, T-t-thankyouthatmeans... ahhh...!" Amelia's mind was moving so quickly that even her sentences were floundering, leaving just a teary-eyed, overexcited mess.

  16. Vermeil came down the stairs, and saw one of the frontline priest running towards him, "Speak man, speak quickl--" Vermeil looked up, and heard very disconcerting whistling noise. "What in the blasted...?" The priest turned, and looked up, and only screamed before two massive flaming arrows impaled the man, leaving his message unsaid. "Serdio, save us..." Vermeil turned, and saw a elf man with a crackling sword at his side.

"It looks like our quarry is already here. Push forward! Back up Tyson, and crush these fools... but if you see the Gaffneys, leave them to me!" He turned his eyes on Versaris, "I suppose we'll have to start here..."

    Aegean reaches B Rank Axe!

Warrior 1 yeets a Tomahawk at Lani!

[55, 57] Why are all of my throwing axe people so fucking bad?

    Lani counters!

[64, 6] While the man's axe was in flight, Lani used her dodge, to build the momentum for her swing, the chain reaching as she threw the sword, for once, not in an arc, but in a straight toss straight for the man's undefended body, and the large bulky man was sent flying, falling to the floor where the impact finished the job landing with a sickening sound as Lani's sword stuck itself into the ground.

    Critical!

Lani gains 66 EXP, and +2 Sword EXP!

Cav 8 screams in rage as he tries to get revenge for his fallen comrade!

    Lani counters!

  17. Finally, it seemed like everything was over and done with her, and the sweet sounds of Syndra's voice were calling to her, " 'm on my way, I--" Nyx turned to hear Tasha yelling about Miria, and the sound of the girl's armor was moving back towards where the drakes had come from. Were there more of them? "...Bah, Miria's got it--I'm movin' up, Synnie, on th' way!" Hope I don't regret it...

    Nyx moves to 10, 25!

  18. Sia shook her head, "You're the first person to say it so direct… but not the first that's given me the sense that our arrival was the first thing that tipped an already unsteady set of scales." Things really were spiraling, maybe they should have started with the shopping– it was going to be difficult to keep out of her own thoughts at this point. Mick quickly threw cold water on their AHI ideas, pointing out that there hadn't been a fight at all at the ambassador's convoy. Unfortunately for Sia, that was not the end of the problems or the questions, as the man showed them an image of the damage, and then… footage of the engagement.

Sia's mouth slowly opened as she looked at the pinpoint beam damage. She was not the most knowledgeable on the specifics of HEX weaponry, but she got by with her tangential knowledge, and knew that beam weaponry was usually the domain of battleships. It was far too difficult to devise a weapon at this point in time that was both powerful enough to create the beam, and compact enough that HEXs could readily use it. The closest they had was Louise's rifle, and even that didn't match the pinpoint nature of the damage. Nor the fact that the machine using it was flying.

Sia gawked at the machine, far too blurry to make out anything beyond the rifle in its hand, and the large boosters. The beam rifle was already ahead of their technology, but HEX flight was currently beyond them. It simply wasn't feasible to allow a HEX to sustain flight, the power plants simply weren't able to supply the kind of power necessary without sacrificing other important functions. And even then, fighters were still superior options for aerial combat. Or at least, they were with traditional weaponry in mind– this was something entirely different.

Sia shook her head, "There are… way too many things to consider right now. Let's say that AHI is not the one at fault here," Sia pointed at the wreckage, and then at the machine, "Who could even have working beam rifle technology? We're dealing with technology now that outstrips even that on the Dawn… so that leaves very few avenues. Either AHI or CEN is lying about their current capabilities, and had reason to target the ambassador, or, and this is arguably more concerning, there is a third entity on this moon with technology beyond both AHI and CEN." Not entirely impossible, either. We still don't know the capabilities of Toki and her subordinates… and I can't rule out that they wouldn't have anything to gain from the turmoil that might arise from the ambassador's disappearance…

Sia was glad for the ire that she heard in Louise's voice as it gave her time to temper herself. "Surely the ensign wasn't the only one on the search with something like that out there? I'm aware of the shorthanded nature of the embassy out here, but…" Sia looked over at Louise, "You're exactly right… I'd be hard pressed to say that this isn't related to things happening on this moon, and everyone needs to be aware of what we could possibly have to deal with." Sia looked back at the commander, doing her best to stow her frustrations both at the commander for effectively throwing Ensign Nishimiya to the wolves, and at the rapidly ballooning situation, "Commander, thank you for your time. If you could transfer that video, and image to me, the Lieutenant and I will return it to the Dawn and see if our engineers can give us a better idea of what we're dealing with. Please continue with your efforts here; leave direct matters over the ambassador to us– that machine is not to be trifled with, and I expect if we continue to search for him, we'll find that machine as well."

Huh. No, it really is this easy. She's lucky that I'm not interested in hurting someone. Azame seemed to get it for a moment before immediately bouncing back to herself, and teasing Senri over his drink. The flinch from the man proved her point, and Marianne could only giggle, "Well, it seems like it works quite well for him." It was smart, especially now knowing his allegiance; didn't want someone like her sauntering up and pulling the truth out of his mouth with some batting of the eyelashes.

"Oh, you don't--" Marianne's words fell on ears that were no longer present as Azame bounced her way to the bar to get them both drinks. Marianne sighed, and looked back at Senri, "You know, she reminds me of Alouette. They're both shaped almost exactly the same way… but they couldn't be more opposites if they tried…" Both Azame and Alouette were the kind of woman who didn't grow up, they grew out, and both women were extremely impressive. Alouette was just leader of the best ran rebel group on the moon, and Azame… appeared to be a little too into a woman she hadn't known for longer than ten minutes. "Anyway, I'll be fine, I've dealt worse, and if I'm being honest, she seems like she'd be a lot of fun to be around. Confidence with a body like that is always a recipe for something interesting~"

Senri changed the topic and Marianne gave it a faint glance, "You're making it real difficult to remain calm when you talk like that. What about Red over there? He came with Azame, so we'll have to get him too… I guess I could expedite things, give Azame a little something to hurry her along, might pull him as well." Why the fuck is it always me with the weird ones… Wait what the hell am I going to do about the meetup?!

Her obfuscation seemed to work, she… was not ready to talk about those plans yet. They meant so much to her, in both good and bad ways, but it was the bad that stuck out to her. It was hard to forget everything she went through over her designs; it would have been almost complete ostracization if not for some of her teachers standing by her. The industry was so incredibly cutthroat, that being labeled as a plagiarist and a thief was a death knell for most– even if it wasn't proven. "Oh yeah, that would make sense. With the kind of engines you need to make this thing fly, the noise would be rather ridiculous for anyone below. Haven't quite gotten to the point where we can make those silent~"

Amy flinched as Tristan came in for the kiss on her forehead, not even realizing that he'd gone for it until she felt his lips. He then confirmed that he wasn't going to press on it, but he did mean her actual plans, not the ones that she was paid to work on. As he finished with compliments, belief in her work, and talent, Amelia fell uncharacteristically silent, eyes down at the table, and her face uncomfortably warm. "...y-yeah. It's… hard to talk about. Just…" Amy melted onto the table, and just laid there for a moment. "I… Tristan. I… I want to show you, I, I really do… it's just… really bad memories. I… don't suppose if I say Boston, that it would ring any bells, would it? You worked… with HEXes before becoming a navigator…"

  19. Alouette saw Nathan's hesitation, but Ichika took her attention again, confirming that she did have something that she wanted to say to her. Alouette shook her head, "If I'm being honest, I can already feel myself giving out again, so I believe it would be best if I waited until morning for that. Apologies, but I... want to give what you have to say all the attention that it deserves." It didn't feel forced to say the words, as it might have been with people back in Phantasma, other researchers, and people simply interested in her bewitching figure. Ichika wasn't like that at all, and so far, she'd done nothing but been in her corner, ever since their rocky start in the carriage. Alouette slowly got her feet, and turned to look at the group, "I think I shall turn in myself... won't do to be exhausted for our first endeavor." For a moment, Alouette considering telling Eve about her faulty circuits--unless she'd spoken with Lyria, it's not something that had come up before, but that was always something that she could do in the morning. It wouldn't affect them as long as she got some rest.

Alouette gave the group a lazy bow, "I hope all of you enjoy your evening." Alouette turned, and started making her way to the stairs.

Morning arrived, and while it wasn't on her usual time, Alouette was up and about, feeling a lot better than she had when she'd gone to sleep. A few basic exercises just to see where her magic was at; still a little frazzled, but if she needed to, she'd have no problems. So she gathered herself, and got all of her things together, corset, and harness--lamenting again that the harness was starting to fray a little--and made her way to Ichika's door. How ironic that yesterday started with her at my door, and today starts with me at her door? Well, my day anyway...

Alouette walked up, and knocked on the door, "Ichika? It's Alouette, sorry about waiting until now... but you had something you wanted to explain to me?"

  20. ENEMY PHASE TURN 9!

Archer 4 rushes in and targets Alvira!

[15, 24] His shot connects dealing 13 damage!

    Alvira counters!

[67, 95], [73, 66] The retaliatory blasts were effective, and finished the archer off for his aggressions!

Alvira gains 26 EXP, and +3 Light EXP!

Archer 3, with an unusually large bow steps up, and then takes aim!

[72, 57] Attacking from a greater distance than Alvira could combat, the man took aim with a massive arrow, but his aim was wide, and Alvira too quick as the large arrow fell with a harmless, but concerning thud.

Priest 4 rushes forward, and heals Priest 1 all the way back to full!

    Enemy Reinforcements have arrived!

    Turn 10.png

  21. Nyx heard the commander's call and grinned as their new ally was already well into following her command, "Aye, aye! That means you, ya hear?!" Nyx turned her bow on the remaining Wvyern, and moved in for a better shot.

Nyx moves to 12, 22 to take a shot at Wyvern 1!

    Alvira engages Bow Armor 2!

[65, 3] My ratio of crits to anything else is insane.

    Critical!

    Bracing Flourish activates!

[20, 13] Foolish as the man had been to sacrifice his ranged advantage in favor of a close quarters engagement, Talulah unsheathed her blade, and cleaved through the dragon's wing, and then the man's arm in a single swing.

  24. Nyx started to make her move back towards the center of the room while everyone started to get setup for the attack, but one thing was obvious, Lil Cub needed some healing. Nyx's eyes scanned the area for Renais, or even the pointy hatted woman--she had a staff earlier too--but neither one of them appeared to be around. She clicked her tongue, and then turned, to see... a pink woman? Pink hair, rosy skin, and if the shaking was any indication, not in the greatest of moods either, tail swishing dangerously quickly. She had been with them before this moment, so either she was a stowaway, or she'd just fallen in, but the most important part was that there was a staff at her back.

Nyx quickly hurried up, before realizing that the woman was also just, not wearing much, "Oi, were ya wit' th' pirates from befor'? Ya alright? Sorry t' bother, but we could really use th' healing," Nyx tilted her head back towards Miria, "Big ol' wave o' dragons a problem for any ol' knight..." Nyx looked the woman over again, and then sighed, shrugging her jacket off of her, "Mayb' I'm thinking too much, but it feels like ye' could use this. Ain't gonna protect ya' from weapons, but... anything helps, yeah?"
