    I just thought I should throw this out there to you: if you're still interested in Smash tournaments there's actually one in your city at an anime convention that spans from July 17-19, 2015 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. It'll be on Saturday (July 18) around 2-4 PM and the entrance fee last year was only $5.

      They'll likely be using Super Smash Bros. for Wii U for the tournament and controllers are supplied by the convention. Also, entrance to the anime convention for the Saturday is around $35.
