  1. Yuri's relic is ridiculous.  Mv +1, Canto, Aegis+Pavise.

Also, recruitment requirements for the Ashen Wolves in the main game (available from chapter 2 on):

Constance: clear ch. 2 of the side story
Balthus: clear ch. 4 of the side story
Hapi: clear ch. 5 of the side story
Yuri: clear ch. 6 of the side story

None of them act like they know Byleth when you go to see them in the main game - I wonder if that changes when you finish the side story.

  2. From ryokutya2089, details from this week's Famitsu issue:

    About the DLC:

    • Cindered Shadows is fairly difficult.
    • The developers guess it'll take about 8-10 hours to clear on Normal; since it's trickier than the main game, you can't blast through it as easily.
    • You'll unlock more and more stuff in the main game as you proceed through CS.

    Free updates planned:

    • A free update will let you have tea time with Rhea.
    • Byleth will be able to wear dancer clothes, but not become a dancer themselves.
    • You'll be able to change costumes from the free day menu, as well as change everyone's costumes at once.

    Other tidbits:

    • Reiterating that no golden route is planned, and they were actively against it since it would become the "right path" in fan's minds. (Well, one of the interviewees liked the idea, but it really was never planned. Too much like Fates!)
    • Maddening was really hard for them to balance, so they were happy with the release timing of it - letting people dig in once they'd familiarized themselves with the game.
    • They expect Intelligent Systems to put out a full OST at some point.
  3. 8 minutes ago, Sire said:

Is this the "post-game" sandbox that I have been looking for where I can mix and match my army, or is it set on a per-map basis? Regardless, I'm hype!

I'm the one who translated/summarized into the bullet points above, and no, it's not a post-game sandbox - it seems like a separate mini-campaign from how they described it.  Since they mentioned you can't recruit more students, I imagine we're getting house leaders + a few others from each house + Ashen Wolves only.

Another point I translated that didn't make it up above - the new maps are described has having special tricks/gimmicks (no specifics).

  4. Throwing in a test case about post-timeskip recruitment:

Playing Golden Deer, I got Ashe's C-rank support pre-timeskip but not his B-rank or recruitment requirements.

When I saw him as an enemy in chapter 15 I got an idea.  After seeing he was re-recruitable here if you'd recruited him pre-timeskip (and maybe if you had a B support?) I backed out a week, pumped Byleth's lance skill up to D+ via advanced drills, then classed him into a Cavalier so I could get his lance rank to C in that same battle.

One long string of training lance victories later, I had Byleth take down Ashe and... nothing.  I couldn't recruit Ashe post-timeskip with only a C support and his listed requirements (15+ charm and C in lances.)  Of course, maybe the game checks at the start of the battle, in which case I was only at D+ lances.  There also wasn't any kind of prompt for him to join by Divine Pulsing and finishing the battle with him alive.

Oh well, least I managed to steal his Master Seal.

  5. Hmm.. Maybe the Invisible History DLC will explain why Severa, Inigo, and Owain are in Fates, since there's a screenshot of the three of them in their Awakening outfits?

(Don't know how much of a spoiler that's considered around here, so tagging it just in case.)

It seems likely. Rough translation of the blurb:

What if... you could know their past and their future?

The origins of the heroes who hid their names. The futures of the heroes who slew a dragon.

And the man who took the name "Hydra".

  6. Can anyone translate this? Some DLC have this note, while some haven't:

    ※この追加マップでは、専用のキャラクターを操作して戦います。(登場するキャラクターの能力は、本編のセーブデータとは連動しません)

Does it mean that your characters' stats won't carry over to those particular DLC?

Yes. It seems that in "Paradise Scramble" and "Battle for the Strongest Royal" you choose which of the royal siblings (and their subordinates) to play as, whilst in the "Invisible History" scenario it's a set group of characters. (This is just going off the site - I haven't played the maps myself to see if you carry over your own units as well.)
