  1. I can't believe it's been over 9 years. That's crazy to me cause the switch and the wii u were the consoles I grew up with. Very excited for the switch 2 and all the games it will bring. Hoping for a new Fire Emblem/Xenoblade of course.

  2. In Fire Emblem Fates they brought back a bevy of old characters, as you all already know. They brought back Owain, Inigo, Severa, Gaius, Cordelia, and Tharja in some form. What characters would you like to see make a cameo in a possible new game? What characters would you hate for them to bring back? How would you bring those characters back in a natural way?

For me I would love to see Owain again. It would be so hilarious to me if he became this world jumping hero.

  3. Hey we all know the support system in Fire Emblem, but what support bonuses are your favorite. Ie what game do you think does support bonuses the best. I really love the Fe6 support system. The elemental bonuses mix things up and compared to a lot of other games I can see the difference. It feels like support bonuses are such a small thing in other games, but in Fe6 I can see my unit's crit, attack, and hit skyrocket. What are your favorites?

  4. RIP Night Forest Theme. I thought I was the only one who cared. Anyways I think the forum will get more people as soon as another FE game gets announced. And because of Fire Emblem Heroes the forum has a steady lifeline.

  5. Since the announcement of Engage everyone expected the characters to be one note. Other games, Awakening/Fates, which were accused of one note characters had a couple great examples of characters or supports (Ricken/Henry B support or Nyx overall). Does Engage have any secretly amazing characters or supports?

  6. So a lot of the things mentioned I agree with so I guess these are top 3 that haven't been mentioned or not mentioned a lot

    More Diverse Character Ages

A lot of the previous games (Fe13, Fe14, Fe16) had a cast dominated by youngish characters. This is mostly personal as I just like having those older characters there. I think a cast akin to Path of Radiance would be nice. That game still had younger characters, but a lot of older characters like Titania, Mordecai, and Brom were sprinkled in there so the cast wasn't dominated by exclusively 16-25 year old like Three Houses.

    Remove the Grinding/ Fluff

The lack of grinding in Fire Emblem is what I find very appealing. Even in games like Sacred Stones and Awakening, games that allow grinding, I never felt forced to grind. In the past two games Echoes and Fe16 grinding was a bigger part of the game. Echoes kind of gets a pass because it was a remake of an NES game where grinding was a big thing. And in Three Houses while grinding is optional, there is so much "fluff" in the monastery that it feels like a grind regardless.

    Polish The New Mechanics

Three Houses definitely had a lot of fun ideas, but most of them weren't very balanced. A lot of these ideas are really interesting like gambits and a less restricted class system. But they need some work. As said before the expanded class system leaves some characters feeling Samey. And some gambits are just insane, like stride and the like. So I just want IS to polish these mechanics because a lot of them are really interesting.

(Honorable Mention: Scrolls are cool bring them back. I mean you could have crest scrolls that would be cool as heck)

  7. Guard of The Colors (Focused on HP, Skill, and Def)

    Wields: Bolt Action Rifle (Fake)

    Skills:

Unbreakable Bearing: When this unit uses the wait command gain +3 Defense and +3 Resistance

Unimpeded March: This unit cannot be negatively affected by terrain

Master of The Colors (Promo) (Focused on HP, Skill, and Def)

Wields: Bolt Action Rifle (Fake) and Flags

    Skills:

Guarded Colors: When this unit is between two or more units it gains +3 Atk, +3 Def, and +3 Res

Rally Colors: When the "Rally" command is used, units nearby gain +20 critical rate

Officer of The Colors (Promo) (Focused on Spd, Skill, and HP)

    Wields: Swords and Flags

    Skills:

Inspiring Command: Units adjacent to this unit gain +1 to all stats and +5 to critical rate

Leading By Example: When this unit damages an enemy unit, that enemy takes +3 damage from any other ally this turn

These classes are based on military color guards if anybody has trouble understanding.

Hey, incidentally: I started playing Project Ember with the fixed growths patch they offer yesterday and I'm having a blast so far! One thing I really like is that everyone's useful from the outset. More characters double basic enemies at base, for one thing, including Wolt! I like how this makes my party feel like one I've already had for a while, which alleviates the annoyances I have with early chapters when they try to get too hard. They also seem to have removed ambush spawns.

I'm not playing the maniac mode they offer, mostly because the devs said they were inspired by the higher difficulties of New Mystery that I don't particularly care for. Maybe after I beat hard mode if I'm still looking for a challenge? But I don't think so at the moment.

Would anyone be interested in seeing me post more thoughts about it? Not in a playlog sort of way but more like this. If so, I'm debating where would be appropriate.

It may be better to start a new thread for Ember, so if you decide to do the next fire emblem game it won't go Fe16, Ember, then, Fe17.

  9. Yeah so long time lurker here who finally decided to make an account and join the conversation. I have been reading the conversations on this site for a long while throughout 2020-2021. Admittedly It was my most popular form of procrastination during the pandemic.

So anyways I have played a good bit of the franchise. I have finished Fe16,Fe14 Cq, Fe8, Fe6, and Fe9. I almost completed an iron man of Awakening but I lost on the final chapter. And I have played parts of other games like Fe4, Fe11, Fe15 Br, and Fe10.

So far my favorite characters would probably be Forrest, Ferdinand, Miriel, and Dorothy.

Hopefully I can contribute to the conversations to the site and I thank whoever reads this. (P.S. Salve means hello in Latin)
