Okay. Remember this: Bishops break Creature campaign, as pretty much everything you see is monsters. Anyway, you DID download it during the limited time period it was on sale for, didn't you..?
alright i'll remember that. Also yeah I've had it downloaded since day 1 but have only played a few levels.

Congratulations! Are you planning to try the Creature Campaign, or moving on to another game?
I'll probably go back to the creature campaign at a later date but i plan on waiting a few months and then picking up shadow dragon and the blade of light on the switch and doing that for the first time.

Alright guys. I just beat the game. Thanks for all the help and tips.

No need for the separate save - SacSto has an official post game. Once you've beaten the final map, you can go into the "creature campaign", which is basically just the map battles (including one new map with particularly strong enemies), the Tower of Valni, and the Lagdou Ruins, which you can actually only access after beating the main game. You do keep your characters for this, too.
If you're not grinding for XP, I'd even recommend holding off on exploring the Tower until you're in the creature campaign. There's a handful of characters rewarded for reaching certain floors of the tower (and the ruins), but only if you do so during creature campaign.
Ooooooh so thats what the creature campaign is. I've heard of it before but didnt know how to access it. Thanks for the info.

Good to know! Those are all good-to-great units, I would say. Of course, this is a game where even the worst units can be made to contribute. Don't worry about the Tower, you definitely don't need it to beat the main campaign. It presents its own fun series of challenges, but I don't know the best time to do it. Challenge it before you beat the game, and the levels you get make the later chapters a lot easier. But don't challenge it until afterwards, and your team can pretty much steamroll it.
Yeah I'll probably do something like that a chapter or 2 before the final one. either that or have a separate save before i finish it to do after I beat the main campaign.

Update: I'm on the part where we just fought lyon for the first time (i believe) and get the pegasus knight. My main units so far are Seth (obviously) Natasha, Joshua, Ephraim, Innes, Dozla, Saleh, Cormag, and Duessel. Also I havent used the tower thingy quite literally at all and have just been doing the main maps.

specifically I'm going for ephraim route, but I would like to know what units would be best to go out of my way and get and level up?

yeah my dieck on nm turned out to be so goddamn powerful that literlly destroys sacae and illia's population. He got so incredibly bulky with high damage and can double everyone. I just put him with a handaxe and he'll sweep off a group of army in one turn. Same as rutger He can dodge eveything but mostly relies on crits. These 2 guys are absolute monsters and i fricking love them.
Dude i know. My deke by endgame i gave him the blazing blade and he 1 shot zephial.

i intend on doing one of these soon with the blue lions class, but am not entirely sure what the rules are for this. ive never done a challenge run/speedrun of a game before this. What kind of things are excluded from being available and what am i allowed to do? i understand theres no set ruleset for things like this but what is the most common?

I'm pretty sure you can just use the chapter select cheat using the codebreaker gamefaqs link provided by others to just skip to those right after you've beat neverending dream. if so make sure to only use it on the save screen/chapter restart(resume) screen, or some pretty wonky stuff'll happen and your game will get messed up.

This could have just been my run but Deke was very useful and carried me for quite a bit. I've seen other people with really good dekes yet i rarely see him talked about, especially compared to
edgelordRutger (who Deke still managed to surpass in my run.) Why is this or what were your experiences with the unit? -
none that i am aware of but there are codes to affect stats (which you could use to simply increase things you think shouldve been higher by now) and also a code that puts the unit at 99 exp so that almost anything will level them up. a full list of codes is here for your pleasure https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gba/563015-fire-emblem-fuuin-no-tsurugi/faqs/35138

you can get all the others legit and then use cheats for that one.
