  1. Just had to vent out, but spoilers are absolutely handled horribly on Youtube. Nothing better to ruin your mood when you're scrolling through the main Youtube page on the app when a random account you've never heard of puts in a spoiler image on the thumbnail regarding a certain playable character. (Still not sure if it is 100% confirmed since the way they were represented in-game kinda looks like a mod, but it looked real enough as is. And I haven't seen anything regarding the data mine, so I can't confirm it tbh).

Like on one hand, I had a certain feeling they'd return as a playable unit. But it still ruins the initial surprise I would've had if I encountered it naturally in-game. I wasn't even searching up any specific Fire Emblem videos recently at the time, but due to the algorithm anyway, this certain video still ruined a pretty cool surprise for me.

Still hyped up for the game's release, but now is the best time to really be cautious about any spoiler-y information regarding the story, features and characters on any social media.

So it seems the routes do seem to take place roughly simultaneously like in many Dynasty Warrior games. The early game stages of Edelgard and Dimitri are directly referenced as reasons why Almayra think they can invade.

The post timeskip chapters of the Golden Deer and Black Eagle also seem to directly lead into each other. In the Golden Deer Route Claude says Edelgard is going to claim the great Bridge so she can advance towards the monastery through Alliance territory. Meanwhile in Edelgard's route she starts out as already having crossed the great bridge and needing to fight some Alliance soldiers to reach the monastery. And while the Golden Deer route implies count Gloucester intends to betray the Alliance, a mook in Edelgard camp confirms Gloucester has indeed defected to the Empire. Lastly the Blue Lion route takes place after Edelgard drove the church out of Gerach Mach.

Wow, you have great attention to detail! I wasn’t entirely sure there was a specific order of when each route started after the time skip. I just assumed that after the time skip, they all literally start simultaneously. It really makes sense that in the Blue Lions route, Dmitri and the gang are already making plans to meet Lady Rhea in the Valley of Torment after the Black Eagles crossed over the bridge to Garrag Mach, the same place which the Golden Deers intended to protect.

I’m glad that we are getting different angles of a singular, concrete story from each house. Makes me have more hope that there will be a turning point in the story where all routes will eventually combine after completing all three perspectives of Part 1. (I just noticed that small detail in the save file description. There has to be a cumulative Part 2 to this story, right? Data mines probably confirm it, but I’m not looking at ‘em)

  3. My biggest wish would be anything akin to History mode from the first Fire Emblem Warriors. They have the map of Fodlan readily available, so to just adding a bunch of challenges / missions we can tackle at our own leisure would be perfect to prolong the endgame content.

Also hoping for additional story-related DLC and characters. I haven't read anything about the data mines, but knowing how Koei Tecmo works, I have a feeling not all the characters shown in the game are available at launch. They'll probably be reserved as DLC packs with additional story missions relating to them.

New costumes would be a nice addition, along with new hairstyles for the cast. I'm not sure if the original post-timeskip outfits are available in the game, but if not, they have to release them as DLC eventually. Oh, and obviously any other Classes that didn't make it into the base game.

Lastly, and this probably won't happen but wishful thinking, it'd be fun to play as the other characters from the first Warriors game in this one. Teaming up the likes of the Awakening / Fates and Shadow Dragon cast with the Fodlan crew would blow my mind just at the sight of it happening, regardless of how non-sensical it would be.

I'm a little iffy on it myself-- part of what I like about the previous Warriors games is how once you finish the story you still have a whopping amount of content to play, using all the characters, stages, and mechanics the story introduced. Also, improving your units and maxxing out their stuff.

If this game is designed around multiple playthroughs from scratch like Three Houses itself, that'll be mildly disappointing.

Yeah, I'm still on the fence about this detail as well. What I liked about the first Fire Emblem Warriors game was that I could continue building my units past the main story, gaining their S-Rank weapon builds plus inheriting boost skills, (shoutout to the OP combo of Astra, Luna and Trample) and do the abundance of challenges in History Mode - serving as countless hours of endgame content. I'm going to hold on hope that something similar like this is may be hidden in Three Hopes.

Looks like there is some datamined information from the Demo lurking about now, so be careful if you want to avoid spoilers.

As for me, I went into it as I like learning about things. The spoiler below has potential datamine information, please proceed at own risk!

    1. Yes, Byleth is recruitable. There's an achievement for it.

    2. There seem to be 15 chapters per route, although Scarlet Blaze may have an alternative finale which is interesting.
-- No indication of a 4th secret route/golden route, although it was said the demo may have scrubbed most of the important stuff.

    3. There doesn't seem to be S-Rank in this title. Some users have mentioned there's no "Romance Rating in JP" for Three Hopes, unlike Three Houses, so make of that as you will.

    4. There is NG+. (Guess it's back to mono-routes for me, which I was leaning towards anyways.)

    5. There is a Maddening Difficulty.

I want to avoid story spoilers so I won’t read the document. But does it mention anything about a New Game+ and if we’re able to combine different save datas for routes? Or must all houses be done in the same save file to reach a “golden” route ending? ( ‘cause I feel it’s obvious that all routes will eventually combine.)

  6. I’m curious with how the New Game+ feature is going to work. I’m starting with Black Eagles and nearing the end of chapter 4. I want to start a new file and check out and level up / grind the other house units, but I don’t want to nullify my progress for the other two routes if they don’t end up connecting the progress after completing one file when the full game releases, if that makes any sense.

Playing on Azure Gleam atm, but curious: Is Monica actually Monica this time or is it a different Agarthan? Because I was watching Ghast’s livestream and Edelgard said something about Monica doing perfectly.

    Black Eagles Route spoilers:

    Spoiler

You rescue the real Monica in the first mission after joining the Black Eagles. It’s shown that Kronya kidnapped her, but we manage to save Monica before she can impersonate as her.

Monica becomes a full-fledged Black Eagle student and joins Edelgard and your class as a playable character.

  8. Wow, been playing through the demo since this morning, and I gotta say, they have been very generous with the content they've offered in the four hours I've played. I selected Black Eagles for my first run through and these are my quick observations regarding the story and features so far (LENGTHY SPOILERS INCOMING)

    Spoiler

    - Prologue: We get our first mission as Shez with his fellow mercenaries. As expected, his troop is killed off and we get our first confrontation with Byleth, finally represented as a full-fledged character with her own dialogue! Shez battles Byleth, and it's immediate obvious how intimidating the Ashen Demon is. As Byleth overpowers Shez and goes for the killing blow, Arval awakens and protects Shez, granting him the transformation we've seen in the trailers so far. Byleth makes a comment about how different Shez's fighting abilities suddenly are and retreats once Jeralt confirms their objective is already accomplished. Shez faints and we get a cutscene with both him and Arval. I'll admit, their dynamic has been pretty entertaining so far, a bit more enjoyable so far compared to Byleth and Sothis, since the protagonist can actually talk back with their spirit companion.

    - Chapter 1: Shez and Arval meet up with Edelgard, Dmitri and Claude, akin to the very first mission in Three Houses, in which Shez effectively replacing Byleth's role. This mission leans to act more of a tutorial on how to switch characters, how certain weapons are more effective against others, etc. Alois enters the mission and we manage to defeated the bandit leader right away, creating another difference from the Three Houses' story, where he originally escaped to the Red Canyon. The Knights of Seiros encourage Shez to join them at their camp, where we end up meeting the rest of the students and have a chance to talk and learn about them, akin to our first day at the academy as Byleth in Three Houses.

    - Chapter 2: Shez ends up joining the others back to Garreg Mach, where Lady Rhea and Seteth convinces us to join the academy as a student. After choosing your house, we are assigned our professor. Since Byleth wasn't hired, we end up having Jeritza as our teacher! A funny twist I wasn't expecting, but a welcome one in my book. Eventually, the Black Eagles are sent on their first mission and find themselves at a hideout. Turns out bandits are located there and have a captive Monica chained up in a dungeon. In the middle of the mission, she is rescued and joins the Black Eagles, confirming her as a playable student! I didn't expect her to be accessible so soon in the game already, but I am already enjoying her character. It's really nice to see how the original Monica acts since we never got the chance in Three Houses. Monica fans will be really happy of her inclusion with the rest of the Black Eagles.

    - Chapter 3: where the Black Eagles head back to Enbarr to fight against Lord Arundel after Tomas identity is blown right away, confirmed by Monica who says he was the one that kidnapped her in the first place. This revelation supposedly confirms Edelgard's suspicion towards her uncle, so she and half of the Black Eagles students (Ferdinand, Caspar, Lindhard and Bernadetta remain at the academy) head out on a mission to take the capital from Arundel. Surprisingly, both Count Bergliez AND Count Hevrig appear to help out Edelgard in the battle. Even Count Varley after the mission! Gotta admit, did no expect either Lindhardt and Bernadetta's respective parents to appear at all. But it's great that we're getting more in-depth looks at the student's family members.

    - Eventually reached the beginning of Chapter 4 where the time-skip finally happens and the game still keeps going! We're introduced to the game's main hub where the camp is and we learn about how the facilities work. First thing that's unlocked for us? Both Jeritza and Manuela are given to us a playable units! Like WHAT already!? The game still keeps giving us more surprises! With a Church member confirmed playable, I'm a bit uncertain if there will still be a Church route. With how they're being represented in the story, it feels as if they'll remain as the opposing force our army will face later on, but who knows what kind of other twists will happen in the plot.

    - Chapter 4 introduces us to the map option, where we can apparently begin plotting our way to the current chapter's objective, which is Garrag Mach in this case. In between our camp and destination however, there appear to be separate areas our army needs to take over before making progress, which I assume each area will be represented as missions themselves. I haven't delved into the feature yet, but to imagine that this demo is still giving us this feature to explore - in which I expected it to end already, is mind-blowing.

    - Things of note within the camp are the training instructor where we can level up our units, promote their classes and train together. An interesting feature is that we can train not just one pair of units, but three groups at the same time, all effectively using one point of stamina to train six units together. With this option, I managed to get more than half of the Black Eagles into their respective preferred classes already. Pretty efficient way to level up your units and to try out each class with them, if you choose to do so. Also, the mock battle option to test out their abilities is a welcome addition.

    - Oh, and the Gatekeeper also made his way into the camp! Glad to hear his "greetings" once again, although not as the professor anymore 😞

    - In terms of the Ashen Wolves, they've only been mentioned in a document found around the camp hub. Apparently, the respective four's identities are known and their group still remain in the Abyss after the time-skip. We might not be able to play them until the full game is released, however.

Man, I'm exhausted (in a good way) with everything the demo has given us, and I feel like there's still so much to get through, not even including what the Blue Lion's and Golden Deer routes have to offer! I know my thoughts appear scrambled through my summary above, but cannot express enough how satisfied with what we've gotten in the demo so far. The wait for it after the "leak" was definitely worth it, and now I'm even more excited for the full game to release in the coming weeks!

  9. Yup, disappointing, but not surprised. We really did hold our hope from a small error on the website. Oh well. Was really hoping to play today since this is the only free time I've got this week.

Hopefully a Nintendo Direct will come out soon, 'cause that has to be the most likely place where the final trailer for the game will release with a demo announcement.

  10. Long time lurker, first time posting. Excited to share my enthusiasm with the rest of the community about this game.

I recently looked on Nintendo's website and it appears that the "Download Demo" feature is gone from the Three Hopes page. Is it possible that it's not appearing as soon as we thought? Was hoping tomorrow would be the case since I'm so eager for some hands-on gameplay before release.
