  1. If you wanted a moneymaker, use Flamboyant. It gives +15% versus +4% to activate Easy Life and Smithy Skill. Also Basara is tied for highest Luck cap in the game (Excluding Lodestar because of DLC).

I thought Flamboyant only works on skills activated in battle?

  2. I have an answer to the first question. Female Kamui is not an exception to the rule. When she married Silas with Cavalier as her alternate class set, Kanna was able to reclass into either Cavalier or Ninja. As Ninja is Cavalier's analog, it indicates that Silas was prioritized over Kamui.

Also, for the sake of being thorough, I checked to see if male Rod Knights and female Rod Knights are treated as separate classes for a non-Kamui couple. After pairing Jakob/Joker and Elise, I found that Jakob could use Elise's Wyvern Knight class set and vice-versa. So, it would seem the healer classes are only treated as separate when analogous classes come into play.

Interesting... Thanks for testing and posting this!

  3. My understanding is that the Buddy Seal would be functionally the same as a Parallel Seal, since Fighter isn't Benoit's base, but he can access it as his secondary.

Bummer if this really is the case, causing him to lose out on extra class options in Nohr (Can't complain about Basara access in IK, though).

I keep seeing a lot of "my understanding is..." with regards to this, but would prefer a screenshot or actual "I tried it and..." stories. Like the first post of this thread's "understanding" was that marriage seals in that situation become "functionally redundant" but we are now seeing from actual antecedents that that is simply not the case, at least with kamui as the test.

Theory crafting is fine, but it should at least be based on antecedents or screenshots. Like the "they function like parallel seals" thing isn't right--antecedents have shown that for anywhere where the buddy/marriage seal doesn't appear to give anything new, it doesn't function from the menu. But IS implemented a lot of logic to prevent that from happening in most cases. We're still trying to figure out where/when that logic does and does not apply.

I agree, I'd definitely like to see confirmation one way or the other. I may ask one of the people who has the game to try it out if they aren't too busy. Benny's my favorite character, after all.

  4. Amiibo are not region locked, thankfully! I was able to use my North American amiibo.

Oh, oops! You cannot purchase skills for other avatars you got from streetpass or online castles. You have to reclass them through parallel seals if you want to teach them different skills, unfortunately. Only the main Kamui can be bought skills.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm assuming that the silhouette is actually her, considering it's an outlaw, and you can see the ponytail flinging back and forth XD.

Aw, bummer. Thank you very much for the response. <3

  5. Outrealm Corrin / Kamui? Do you mean the streetpass or online avatars you get from battling? I believe those avatars have the class of whatever the person you got him / her from chose.

Female Kamui can get Oni Savage from Rinkah through a Buddy Seal, but Male Kamui needs to marry her and use a Marriage Seal. Buddy Seals are only for same-gendered units.

^ Can Outrealm Corrin/Kamui still get skills from other Corrin/Kamui from online battling?

To try and rephrase my question, at least.

  6. Zero/Nyx is a bit of a bizarre case where Eponine has been reported to get the Spellcaster tree out of the inheritance, in a similar manner to what I've heard happening when whoever marrying Kamui has the latter's Secondary Class Tree as their Base Clase Tree.

Outside that, Belka!Lutz's Class Set is still a mystery that I want it solved just to understand how the Class Inheritance Algorithm works since I learned Jakob/Azura seems to lead towards the awkward situation where Jakob!Shigure doesn't get a Third Class Tree from inheritance.

This is... really interesting. So it's not a definite thing, it seems. Or, at least there seem to be really odd cases. Who is the third person on Eponine's status screen, there, Foleo?

  7. I think Zero would get nothing out of it. You only get access to your buddy's secondary class if both units share the same base class, iirc.

IIRC, this only applies to marriage seals. I don't think you can pass on anything other than base classes with buddy seals.

    EDIT: I'm probably wrong.

  8. I'm pretty sure that can be done through the Logbook too. I don't think the Mozume example will work since I don't think Villager can be obtained from a Marriage Seal, but you can do some playthroughs or go to other castles where they have characters with the skills you want.

Personally, I'm just thinking to optimize skills to save a bit of time, but stats + classes should be the main focus.

Boo, I just looked it up and you're right. It looks like Villager also can't be inherited. Thanks for clarifying!

Oh well, there are still all kinds of possibilities. Not to mention it's still possible to get skills like Aptitude and Voice of Peace on children characters this way. This means I can take my favoritism babying to another level. Also, Easy Life and Smithy Skill shenanigans!

    Mrehehe...

  9. Question: if Kamui A supports Jakob and then A supports Felicia, will he gain access to Rod Knight and Mercenary?

Kamui will get access to Rod Knight from Jakob via Buddy Seal if he is male due to same-sex A support. Rod Knight from Felicia if Kamui is female. Keep in mind this is assuming Kamui's secondary class isn't already Rod Knight. If it is, Kamui will get nothing from either.

Kamui will not get anything from an opposite gendered character at A support, only S.

  10. If I ever intend on optimizing kids, it will be stats.Since now there is marriage sealing and buddy sealing, you don't need to try get certain characters certain classes to get certain skills. Also, there is My Castle shenanigans where you can just buy skills if you really need to.

    Waaaaaaaait a minute.

So you mean to tell me that it's possible to get skills from other classes that a character wouldn't normally have access to via My Castle?

For example, if I had two DS'es, and two copies of FE:If... I could recruit any male character, marry them to Mozume, Marriage Seal to Villager, get Aptitude, and then put them in Streetpass so I, and others, could profit without actually HAVING to marry Mozume on the file in which you want Aptitude on? Do the skills get stored once acquired, or do they poof when you remove them from their active Skillset?

  11. No

Edit: To prevent the topmost post on this page from being a lame one-word answer, I'll add that Kamui can still give any opposite-gendered unit in the game (or same-gendered if Zero or Shara I guess) access to his/her secondary class tree via marriage. But only one per file obviously (not counting children).

    Alright, thank you.

Sucks for Benoit, I suppose. Mostly because it doesn't seem like he'll get an extra class from A+'ing available Arthur OR Flannel options. Hmm...

  12. Belka is outclassed by Camilla.

Benoit is "outclassed" by Effie, mostly because Effie appears alot earlier. Benoit is also extremely, extremely slow, and "will" need to gain 10 Levels ASAP to get Defensive Formation. Until then he's going to get doubled non stop.

It's honestly a shame. Given that Benoit's one of my absolute favorite units, I'll pull out all the stops to make him great. Did it with Gilliam in Sacred Stones, and I won't mind doing it again~.

  13. I think there is a disconnection that people don't seem to understand about Magic. Magic was broken. Like flat out it was. It was as powerful as the other options, but you could attack 1 or 2 away. Which meant you could attack without the opponent hitting you. It's a misnomer to think of Spells/Tomes as 1 for 1, because just by having Range 1-2, they are in fact 2 for 1 with no doubling involved. If a character can't double a Sorcerer, Nosferatu is the best Tempo tome to use STILL. In fact, the only spell that has comparable tempo is Horse God, and that's cause it allows you to take less damage AND be more likely to not be doubled or double yourself.

Couldn't you still, in theory, build a character around Nostanking? Defensive Formation, among other passive skills, along with damage reduction skills from allies could potentially contribute to a pretty solid Nostank strategy.

Edit: Sorc's DEF isn't fantastic, but it isn't too terrible. Its RES is fairly nice. Characters like Benoit and Ignis could probably make pretty neat Nostank setups due to their DEF/RES modifiers and access to Defensive Formation if their MAG stats/growths weren't utter trash, right?

  14. In that case, doesn't Luna get access to Samurai?

Nope, Luna won't get any new classes. The only way this rule applies is if BOTH share the same primary class.

EDIT: Just saw that you amended you post, but I'll just leave this here for clarification on other stuff. Credits to Azz01, of course.

I will try to explain as best I can:

    Kids inheritance:

Kids naturally have the classes from their set parent and inherit the classes of their other parent.(The exception is Aqua who dose not pass down Songstress.Kamui dose pass down Dark Prince(ss))

Kids who start out as a different class(E.g Midoriko who starts out as a Merchant rather then Ninja)inherit both their set parents classes. So those children naturally have three class sets rather then two.(Then exception is Foleo who starts out as a Rod Knight but Leon also has the option of being a Rod Knight so he naturally has Rod Knight and Dark Mage)

As I already said, children inhert the base and secondary classes of their mothers.(Again the exception is Aqua who only passes down here secondary class, Peg Warrior)

As for spouse seals and buddy seals. It is base class only. The exceptions being Kamui(I think, I have yet to hear otherwise)and Aqua, who's spouse or buddy can instead reclass into their secondary class.

Using your example of Tsubaki x Luna

Spouse Seal-Tsubaki can reclass into Merc and Luna cannot reclass into Samurai.(Luna already has Peg Warrior)

Matoi inherits Peg Warrior, Samurai and Merc.

  15. So, what you're saying is that if Nishiki A+'d Tsukuyomi he wouldn't get access to Oni?

Wow, I was completely oblivious to that. I've planning everything wrong, apparently, lol >-<

Also, in regards to my edit, it was mostly concerning the children. What would they inherit from their parents?

I'm about 90% sure that Nishiki would not get access to Oni.

Children always inherit the additional base class of their mother and the last skill slot on each parent, as far as I know. There are a few exceptions with the kids (Lutz starts with Wyvern instead of Fighter like Arthur, Foleo = Rod Knight instead of Dark Mage, Shigure gets Pegasus Knight from Aqua and Rod Knight randomly, etc) that I'm not certain about, but I can browse a few LP's to see if I can find out how they were handled. Something tells me those kids just get an extra class from their father, but I'm really not sure.

  16. I dunno if this is where I should ask (not to mention that it might've been answered already) but:

    1. Can I, for example, have Odin A+ Zero but have Zero A+ someone else? Can multiple units A+ the same unit?

    2. If I A+, say, Tsukuyomi with Nishiki, what added class does Tsukuyomi get if use a buddy seal on him? Does he get anything at all?

EDIT: Saw something on the child inheritance thread that intrigued me as well. Quoting Azz01's post "I would still like to know what happens in the case that the parents share the same base and secondary classes like Zero x Nyx and Arthur x Belka."

1.) Yes to the first part, no to the second. A+ supports are not mutually exclusive, but they are limited to 1 per character.

2.) Looking at their class sets on the SF page... No, neither of them would get any classes from one another via buddy seal, iirc.

EDIT: Based on what I have seen in various threads, neither spouse will gain any extra classes in such cases.

  17. So Cyrus/Sakura got translated by someone on /feg/ and it's...I don't even know how to describe it.

I agree with everyone on the forums there; the S Support is the most abrupt one to date. But the B Support is funny, and I'm actually glad they talked about Cyrus's hair. I was wondering if anyone was ever going to point it out.

Sakura: You must be cursed because Kamui doesn't remember you!

Silas: I am cursed with the pain of loving you. Marry me pls.

In all seriousness, that was extremely abrupt...

  18. Benoit: Generals are good with Defensive Formation

Flora: Comes late, but is decent staff or debuff filler. Slow though.

Hana: Training up Bow rank from scratch might be a little tedious (or you can save arms scrolls), though it does get around the glass cannon problem somewhat.

I plan on using Benoit heavily, so this relieves me some.

Has anyone else used Benoit at all? I figure with Defensive Formation he must be a pretty decent tank (especially after considering having him marry Elise, who'll eventually have access to Battle Command, her personal skill, and Demoiselle; -6 Damage Reduction).

He also gets Sol as a Brave Hero, so that could make him decently survivable, though he'll only get 1 attack in per phase with DF.

I've also put a few builds together with him as a Berserker, but that's iffy because of his terrible SPD growth, and having DF defeats the purpose of Berserker as a class, I think.
