  1. Hey all, (hope this kind of thread isn't against the rules...) I've been looking around but can't seem to find these anywhere, I'm looking for vector art (or just high quality) images of the emblems from the countries of Hoshido/Nohr/Valla. If this isn't clear, I mean something like this: clicky That would be the Hoshidan emblem. Though obviously that image is pretty small and has an overlay, but it's on the right track. I would love it if someone could create renders of these! I also realize that there are some pieces out there are that are pretty close to my request like this, but I'm looking for the non-italicized version of the emblems. Thanks in advance!

  2. opinions and all that, but don't get why ignatius is hated on so much. he's one of the few child characters that I actually like.

Totally agree! He didn't feel like another boring cookie cutter character. I mean I didn't spend much time using the children characters, but of the ones I found, I really enjoyed this dude.

    On another note, I voted.

+Laslow +Selena +Ignatius (Would have voted Shiro but Ignatius is a close 2nd and needs some love).

-Hayato -Beruka (torn between her and Peri. Peri looks better). -Kana (because Kana fucking sucks).

I was a big fan of the Awakening characters. I dunno if it's me getting older or if the character design got worse or if I have bad taste...whatever it was, in general I felt like Awakening's characters were just better. Honestly I like Awakening more in general (yes you heard me) so that's why I was a fan of Laslow and Selena. And even if they weren't from awakening, I would still like them because they're just well written and entertaining characters. -Hayato because I don't like him, his stat growth never worked out on my files, and his design is dumb to me. I could rant about Beruka and Peri forever but to keep it short, the whole killing for no reason/without honor just doesn't sit well with me. Despite that statement, I really enjoyed Henry. Maybe it's because I saw more to his character than I saw in these two? Not sure. And I don't even want to get started on Kana (couldn't care less about gender, they both suck).

I also can't get behind all of the Ryoma/Camilla appreciation or hate. For me anyways, I pre-release I was super excited for these two. When the game came out, I was pretty underwhelmed to be honest. Ryoma feels like they took Ike and dulled him out even more. No flaws, no humor, and now, unlike Ike, no anger (or very little of each). Aesthetically he's beautiful and as a unit he's awesome, but as a character, he's just...boring. If it weren't for his moment in Conquest, I wouldn't really like anything about him other than how great of a unit he is (always been a huge Swordmaster fan). For Camilla, I feel like she also had a lot of potential but came out pretty lame. Like her obsession with Corrin is just strange. Not to mention the VA was a let down. Should've used Charlotte's in her place. Also a very attractive character and decent on the battlefield but just not what I was hoping for. Both are good characters but I can't bring myself to really like or dislike these two.

And can someone tell me what's up with the Subaki/Jakob/Hana hate?

  3. Hey all, I have a question. I was visiting some castles through the online My Castle system, and I found a user who has every mineral source and food supply in their castle (meaning you could walk around and get all 12 gems and all 10 food sources). How did they manage to do this, and can I replicate this without RAM hacking or any of that?

  4. My problem with Fates isn't the writing, I think in theory this could've been the best Fire Emblem game (in a story sense) by far. However based on the path that the writers took it, I was a little disappointed. Now I haven't finished my first playthrough of Conquest yet (and I haven't started the other titles yet so I could be wrong, and if I am don't let me know cause I really don't want it spoiled) but it seems like you never really have to kill any of your opposing family members. Honestly I feel like that would make the story much more emotional and ultimately better. The pathway to peace is nice and all, but it doesn't make for NEAR as good of a story. With that said it's still a great game and I love it for the most part, I just feel like the writing could've been done sooo much better.

  5. Hey guys, so with the release date announced for Fates, I've been considering upgrading to a New 3DS. I was wondering what those of you who have played the Japanese version have noticed when playing on different systems? Are loading times any better on the New 3DS, or are there any other forms of enhancement that the New 3DS brings to Fates that the original 3DS doesn't? All responses appreciated.

Note: I have no plans to get Amiibos so anything Amiibo related won't be factored into my final decision.

  6. Awakening had nine in total, but I can't count the number of CGs in FEif off the top of my head. I'd say that there are about the same amount, perhaps much more if you count all three routes.

EDIT: I forgot about the in-game movie list, haha. Hoshido and Nohr both have 12 or 13, 14 if you count the opening and the cutscene that was basically the Nintendo direct trailer. Of those, six occur before the story diverges, so that means there are likely about [(13-7)*3+7=] 25 CGs across all three routes, assuming the third path has the same amount of CGs as the others and that CGs aren't reused. (And I'm pretty sure that one is)

Thank you for the reply!! Really appreciate it!

What are "Anya" and "Byakuya" referring to? (I once saw those names in a thread on this forum, but an not sure what they're referring to)

Anya is the Japanese name for Nohr, whereas Byakuya is the Japanese name for Hoshido. People saying stuff like that are simply referring to the Kingdoms by their Japanese titles.

  7. There are a few important, cool, long ones before the paths diverge, then a small handful in each path. Like Awakening they are much more common in the first half of the game. They are all beautiful, although there is one in the Hoshido path that is a little bit... gratuitous and fanservicey. Still cool though.

Appreciate the reply! In terms of quantity, would you say that there are more or less than in Awakening?

  8. How are the CG scenes in this game? I remember in Awakening, they were really good, but the majority of them took place in the beginning of the game, and the ones that followed weren't even that sophisticated. So for this game, how are the CG scenes in comparison to Awakening? As in how often, do we see them, as well as the content shown in them. No spoilers please.

  9. I find it ironic that the examples you picked aren't fully exclusive, mercenary is a parallel seal option for 3 of the shared characters (Gunter/Felicia and Silas) for Hoshido and samurai is available to at least Kaze and odin for Nohr (Izana yukimura and Fugga also have the class and i think Izana is available in Nohr) Some classes are exclusive of course but i think there are only 2-3 maybe 4 base classes per route well at least for hoshido classes, and some share promotions i believe. (I don't really count the shifters)

^Really who is your fighter? I thought the thief guy who had it was Nohr only?

Apologies, I don't own either game and I'm trying my best to avoid spoilers so I was just saying what I assumed to be true. Nice to hear that they aren't entirely exclusive, but still a very odd choice I feel. When I wrote the post I just used the first two that came to mind. The fact that the page on serene's only shows particular classes for each side didn't help.

  10. How do you guys feel about the path-specific classes? Like how you can only get Myrmidons (or Samurais in this case) on the Hoshido path, or only have mercenaries on the Nohr path? Good move or bad move on IS's part? I personally am a little upset by it, but I suppose that's what the third path is for.

  11. Can't decide if I want to do Nohr Classic on Normal or Hard...I'm leaning towards Normal just to appreciate the story the first time around with a light challenge, but my gut is telling me to play on hard...When I get Hoshido I'll probably start that one on hard.

  12. I'm more afraid of the unnecessary censorship that this game is going to receive. I mean you saw what they did to a BIKINI picture of Tharja. I can't wait what they do to Camilla. I'm also worried about how they will censor the support conversations and some of the things that are said...ugh, why can't the world just care less about all of these references and suggestive themes?

  13. Has anyone heard female Kamui's English voice? I was less than impressed with the dub for male Kamui, so I was wondering how she turned out... but I haven't watched much of the previews. Hopefully they'll give us a good number of options for both, regardless.

I don't think there's any footage that has Kamui's female English voice. The male's voice was also pretty disappointing...even the Japanese male alternatives were pretty lame. Really hoping that the English alternatives are better...

  14. Yeah, stay out of the hype thread...I caught a few minor spoilers, but nothing horrible. Looks like I'm not the only one on this forum who is gonna be camping out here for the next 6+ months. Nice to meet the rest of ya!

Anyways, thanks a ton OP, really glad you made this thread.

  15. Never thought I'd see the day where people argued against boobs. Freakin liberals.

I'm only joking. In all honesty I can see why so many people are upset about this. I personally don't mind it, as a matter of fact I kinda appreciate it, call me a pervert, see if I care! But this really isn't what Fire Emblem is known for. Fire Emblem is (or WAS) known for being a tactical RPG game about medieval WAR. I mean, that's what the games are supposed to be focused on, a warzone where people fight and kill each other. And now it's...well, barely anyone even talks about the war aspect of the game. I would agree with some who say that they went a little overboard with the fanservice and "love" aspects of the game. Hell, I think for the past few months the majority of the threads in this subforum have been about the possibility of same-sex marriages, who you plan to marry, and which side is better or has the better characters. I have seen so little discussion on the actual core-game itself, and that is a bit annoying. As great as Camilla's boobs and booty are boobs can be, Fire Emblem doesn't deserve to be known as the fan service franchise. These games were known for their stories, character development, and the challenges it offered the players. The trailers and hype for this game has been awesome, but almost none of it has focused on what this game is really about. That's why people are getting annoyed. Again, I really couldn't care less how much fan service they stuff into this game, I'm just hoping that it doesn't take away from the gameplay itself. As long as I still have a good time playing, and the characters interest me (with more than their looks), I'll be happy.

Also REALLLLLY hoping for a 18+ option where they won't censor EVERYTHING that this game has to offer. Not likely, but we can pray, right?

  16. Just because something has been a way in the past doesn't mean it's the way it should be, and Fire Emblem has frequently changed things (for better or for worse) compared to the past. Also, it's not like Fire Emblem has been following one consistent pattern. Up to Radiant Dawn, it seemed like they were slowly creeping closer and closer to same sex romances, but then that changed.

Also, regarding the no children thing, well I'd say about half the forum would actually be happy about that, considering the way they've reacted to the announcement of children in Fates. But perhaps I phrased things poorly. Obviously making everyone gay in Fire Emblem Fates, a game that has already announced child characters and has a certain focus, would change certain aspects of the story and gameplay that people already know. But as a general rule, why can't there be a game where every character is gay? (They can even adopt if they still want to have something of a child mechanic.)

"How do you appease both audiences?" By having both staight and gay romances.

It's that simple. No need to have some switch and complete control over every character's sexuality, no need to add complex mechanics. Just add both! It's literally that simple.

Again, in every single Fire Emblem game that has had romantic supports, they've been limited at least with regard to characters other than the avatar. And again, Fire Emblem Fates has siblings, so it's almost certain that romantic supports for the avatar will be limited to. And again, repeating myself so often, a lot of people actually want romantic supports to be even more limited. So adding a few gay characters is not going to be some sudden inexplicable disastrous limitation of straight marriage options.

And no one that I've seen in this thread is acting like "it's a crime to support straight character supports." I want straight supports too. What bothers me is not the existence of straight supports, but the non-existence of gay supports. And yah, I gave a hypothetical of "what if everyone was gay" but that was to address a different argument about whether it even mattered what gender you could romance. I'm not asking for everyone to be gay. I'm not saying we should get rid of all straight romantic supports. I'm not even saying the majority of the supports should be gay. Heck, I know that if they add any the majority will still be straight. That's fine.

All I'm asking for is some, some, just SOME gay supports. This is not some massive attack on straightness and an attempt to eliminate straight romance. It's just asking for a little bit of inclusion.

Also, "well you've been disappointed before, so you're used to it!" is kind of a frustrating argument. Because you've had to deal with crap in the past, you lose your right to complain about it when it happens again and again and again?

Well, there are some differences, such that one is complaining about not having literally every single character be straight, while the other is complaining about having literally every single character not be gay, and I could go on, but what I think you are refering more to the eventual cooldown of forum arguments and the financial success of the game.

So, here's a question. You just now said that if gay supports are included in the game, or if they are not, will have literally the exact same outcome in regards to the above. If that's the case, then why in the world are you using "will cause forum arguments" as an excuse to not have gay supports?

Again, what do you think this thread is right now? Joy and happy discussions? We're in the middle of a massive, passionate forum argument caused by the LACK of gay supports, and you yourself have just admitted that the end result won't change regardless of whether they do or don't include gay characters. So why are you using forum arguments as an excuse to exclude gay characters?

Again, trying to make it clear that I have nothing against the gay supports. I admit, many of my points were worded poorly and written quickly making me sound less open to the idea, but I really am. I'm just trying to make the point that it would be hard to implement it in such a way that everyone would be happy, because like I said, there will be people wishing that X was gay or that Y was straight. You have a rational view on this topic: "All I'm asking for is some, some, just SOME gay supports." I'm afraid not everyone else has that same argument, at least it doesn't seem that way. At the end of the day, I don't think that there are many people truly against the inclusion of gay supports, but there are a fair amount who would prefer straight supports. We're all really arguing for the same side from different points of view.
