  1. Interesting! Anyway, meet a new enemy concept: It's a promoted class. An ultimate glass cannon, capable of dealing serious damage to anyone in your party, double slower units, or even 1RKO some of your weaker ones. Phantoms also are ridiculously resistant to magic, so it's not a good idea to use it against them. Their weakness is their low HP, combined with very low Def (they have low bases, growths, and even low caps: 40 HP and 15 Def). So it's usually best to avoid them and attack them as soon as they're in range with some accurate and powerful weapons. Especially accurate, considered their class skill. Phantom's skill: Ghost Trick (can traverse any tile, even those occupied by walls or enemies, without any terrain penalty. +10 Avo against physical weapons) Some battle calculations: [spoiler=Against Phantoms] Whelp! Even a promoted unit like Cristoph can't do much with magic against these guys... ...It's a whole different matter with physical weapons, though! Unpromoted Valpurga gets a x2 with the Agile Hasta, but even with her 16 Def she'd get a lot of damage in return in case she missed. Shiori's Judelight can't judge them hard enough!
  2. No, that's a reference. I loved that game, and I liked the name "Lazulis", so I used it. Also wow, so many people going with Shiori.
  3. Yes, that's perfectly fine! If you say you'll be doing it, I trust you. This also means I won't ask anybody else, after all. Take your time, I'll be waiting for it. ^^ And thank you very much!
  4. This was made last year. What is a revenant knight? Use spoiler tags if you answer. Also no, I don't have an animation for this yet... if you want to make one, go ahead. It'd be highly appreciated! It uses magic and lances.
  5. Mogalls with Wind/Thunder magic, and a Wicked Flier boss*. Checkmate. *Wicked Flier's skill: Deathwind (Gains effectiveness against fliers) As for the class itself, it's basically a shaman on a wyvern? L95 made this a while ago: Oh, there's a misunderstanding here. Those ships don't belong to Lazulis. They belong to the cult. So you'll be fighting cultists and monsters in this map. As for the graphics, I can't do miracles but I'll try with some sort of hand-made Quintessence Effect (earthquake + fade to red + sounds). You'll get a warning 1 or 2 turns before it detonates. I was going for (3) actually, haha! I had planned to have Ally generic Magnolian pegasi help you with the rescuing, too. They will be lvl.20, meaning they can't gain exp, and they won't be able to promote. They'll disappear by the end of the chapter (leaving everything in their inventory to you). Great insight on the different possible solutions, Ashley. But yeah, I'm glad you thought about that third possibility too. I wanted to go with that. Also, just tested this in-game and the tile changes work like a charm! Be ready to play chapters like this in Shiori's route. They can be hard as hell and long, but they sure represent a fresh breath of air to the series. Fa's route will be more traditional, with 'rout the enemies' and 'seize' missions. V.1.5 will be released next month, while V.2.0 before the end of the year. As I said in an earlier post, I changed my mind and decided that v.2.0 will include chapters up to ch.11A/11B; v.3.0 will have 12A/B~16A/B, and v.4.0 will end this project.
  6. So, while doing 9A, I also did the map for 11B. The concept of the chapter is simple: you start in the ship in the middle. After some turns, you get attacked by a ship on the right. Soon after, you see other 2 ships approaching, one from the left and one from below. The one from below, however, is full of NAPALM and will collide with your ship in no time. Whelp! You've to bring your units in the two ships on the sides or else they'll find themselves unable to move, in the middle of the sea, getting flanked by enemy flying reinforcements. Also, thanks for the Thordain suggestion! Will use for sure, in case I implement the feature. And yes, Phoebe is the Athos of this game. And she'll join relatively soon too! In ch.16.
  7. 10B is done, currently working on 9A. Added a poll. Also thinking on having fire mages, bolt mages, and wind mages, with Andre being a thunder mage, and Diana a wind mage. This will also reflect on their promotions, blaze/bolt/gale sages, and blaze/bolt/gale fencers. There are enough animations for all of the tomes too at this point-- just need an S-rank fire spell which is better than Bolganone, actually (since FE8 lacks a Forblaze animation, which can't be imported from FE6-7); and an S-rank Thunder spell here's a sketch:
  8. I never saved before doing anything in FEditor that wasn't class animation editing, and never got such a problem; I'm quite scared now tho so I'll start doing so lol also because something tells me the random glitches that have started occurring as of late were due to that. And hell if it's hard to bugfix some shit like that So thanks for bringing this up, Blue Druid. You shouldn't feel ashamed to bring up problems to the community, y' know. Nobody's judging you anyway.
  9. Ultima kills the BGM when inserted in FE8... Good stuff anyway!
  10. There's also this female assassin with long hair that needs to be scripted, from Russell Clark. http://russellclark.deviantart.com/art/FE-Female-Assassin-Spritesheet-425649410 Found this in his rather weird deviantart
  11. you open a hex editor, you go to the promotion pointer you see there (8ADF96) and you replace one of the unused classes (like 10, the female mercenary) with 4D, which is the dancer.
  12. It's Brendan, Valpurga's bodyguard. He starts as a bow Knight, and I've just promoted him into a Cannon General. That new mage is Diana!
  13. Thanks for playing it! I'm glad you're liking Midnight Sun so far. ^^ Let me know what you think about the other chapters! Thank you guys. At the moment I'm not interested in translations, but I sure know who I'll need to search in the future, then. Thanks man! :) Puledra isn't meant to level up much, and you can also take advantage of the Exorcist's Slayer skill against monsters, which is really useful. Moreover, Puledra has some amazing growths! So if you spend some time on him in middle-lategame, he'll be quite good. Pic of the day: Gameplay of 10B is officially done. I'll work on Faratrass' route after this. I think I'll release v.1.8 in October with chapters up to 11A/11B. Otherwise you'll have to wait for 2016 for v.2.0...
  14. Beware that there's an height error in that theater, if you can access it from the top
  15. Those are very cool! Do you have the script and frames of that Eliwood Sage (female)? It's not compatible with FE8 and I wanted to twist it a bit, with your permission.
  16. Whoa. A new project out of the blue, 100% completed? You're the second in the world to achieve a 100% completed (almost) full-scale FE hack, so props to you! :0 That said, this looks marvellous and I can't wait to have the time to play this. I also find your dedication to this project to be very inspiring.
  17. Project Name: Fire Emblem: Midnight Sun Platform: FE8 Showing: v.1.5 trailer + release
  18. That sounds sooooo cool! Anyway, it seems I can't access the download of the MIDI you provided. Try a different upload site, maybe? Well, it WAS in the alpha version (Sunpath of Midnight) but I removed it in Midnight Sun. Why, you ask? I wanted a completely non-FE soundtrack. Hell yeah! Also why is it Fan Projects now? ROM Hacking sounded better imo ;_;
  19. Hmh, I think I'll have a map with a sandstorm and another one with a snow tempest, so yeah! Now, now, isn't THIS hilarious? About the movement reduction, that's too much work for something like this I suppose. I just have to make the gameplay fun even with the movement penalty. Some good examples of "fun desert chapters" could be found in Kitty of Time's previous hack, League of Champs. ...was it League of Champs? The title of his topic always had everything but the name of the hack. Whoo! Let me know about that MIDI you were talking about! I'm really curious about it now.
  20. AHAHAHAHAHAAH Man, that one is glorious! Props to you for doing that! Anyway, uh... you can see it as @SilverHairedFreak said, I guess. Even if, to be perfectly honest, the moment I gave them the ability to use books I had in mind something similar to your drawing. It'd be awesome, ahahah! Too much work, though. ...Also, don't call them tentacles, Ashley! T-This can't lead to anything good... gulp. Also, is there any music you'd like to see in the game? Format your entry like this: Ex. House Theme - The Legend of Zelda - When you visit a house (duh) http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/Maison_XylophoneRemix.mid ...Oh wow, I actually like this arranged version better than the one I actually inserted, hahaha This is just to see what kind of music people like in FE games, actually. I doubt I'll insert any suggestions for real, but heh, you may never know.
  21. Thanks man! ^^ Thanks man! And no, haven't tested it yet, but my dream is to play this hack on my GBA, haha. Edit: Oh wow, it works? eeeek, I'm so excited to try it out too! But first, I need to complete it. Oh, if you want a gba flashcard, here you go guys: http://www.r43ds.org/products/Supercard-Mini-SD.html So, I'm still super busy irl so I haven't brought anything new for you guys this time, but people are still working on this of course and we'll be back soon. The skill system in particular is coming along nicely (thanks @Brendor!).
  22. Thanks man. ^^ I'm gonna insert your Griffon Knight in MS for sure!
