  1. Integ, what's wrong with Xenoblade Chronicles that you'd rate it a 1/10?

If you look at his other votes, he hasn't actually played the game and is probably trying to make fun of the fact that having an "I haven't even played this" option in a poll is kind of redundant.

  2. ...I admit, I should have saw that one coming. I guess I didn't because the game is heavier on that than most Zeldas.

It's worth noting that TMC also got hit by it. It was going to be about creating the Master Sword, Miyamoto said no so it was changed to the Four Sword. Then we actually got the Master Sword creation game.

    ...Go figure.

Probably because the game was created by Capcom, and maybe they thought that they didn't deserve that right. I'm pretty sure that by then, the Zelda timeline was probably planned out, and the concept of a Master Sword origin story was already documented in some notes.

Notice that this "Iwata Asks" for Splatoon doesn't really mention Miyamoto at all. The game has two directors, and neither of them are Miyamoto. I don't think he had anything to do with this game at all besides being producer.

IIRC all he did was give the go-ahead to let them use original characters instead of Mario ones.

  3. Is Xenoblade gonna be a super-easy game if I try to complete all the sidequests?

I dunno, I only did a minimum of sidequests and the game was still pretty difficult to me, I had to do a lot of grinding at places where few sidequests were available. Getting a handle of the combat system is also an essential part. I will say that you'll wanna stick in the level range of the enemies you encounter, if enemies are too easy for you, the game tells you by highlighting their nametags blue, and if they're kinda tough, yellow, and if super tough, red. I'd recommend, instead of doing all the sidequests in an area upon entering it, return to it later and complete them at your leisure, as although they won't reward you much experience by then, you'll still get some neat stuff.

  4. Are there any permanent missables or similar things? Is there a really good guide I should have nearby, should I ever need to consult one?

There are some areas that are not revisitable after certain points in the game, but there are no items of value or important sidequests permanently lost. You can no longer find collectible items exclusive to the areas, but if you want to fill your completionist hunger, the items are still found through trading sequences with NPCs. Sidequests that become unavailable after certain times are clearly marked, thanks above.

This guide tells you all the areas without giving away any but the necessary plot details. No boss names or important events are relayed, but it's not spoiler free. The fact that the areas named in here become accessible might give away some plot details.

As far as a guide, I don't think the game really needs one. It's hard to get lost with how good the map is, the only things I'd recommend are guides to find items for sidequests, and maybe looking up things about the terminology, what certain buffs and debuffs do, that kind of stuff.
