  1. I would side with Hoshido, which is what I would do if I found out my family was harming someone just because.

Except they're not. The Nohr siblings I'd be fighting are just acting on the king's orders.

That would make me okay going either way, but the having Camilla act seductively toward her little brother just creeps me out. I lean more toward Hoshido. I will be playing Conquest first though (those maps. <3 I like a challenge), so go figure.

And it also bothers me that Conquest!Corrin seems so naïve.

  3. I'm still pretty new to Fire Emblem (having played most of Awakening twice and the few chapters of Shadow Dragon), so I'm going to start with Hard on Birthright, probably. I plan to eventually get all three versions once I have some income, so that would be Normal on Conquest and Hard on Revelations. Casual all the way. Permadeath is one of my least-favorite features in games. It's why I had so much trouble with Shadow Dragon (newb + permadeath = failing not to kill the princess, resetting endlessly, and eventually just giving up).

  4. My newest MU, also my first Classic playthrough, has:

    Sex: Male

    Build: Medium

    Face: 1 (slight scowl)

    Hair: Long, black

Voice: First (medium pitch, less hesitation than the others)

    Asset: Luck

Flaw: Strength (points if you guess his future spouse)

    My first one?

    Sex: Female

    Build: Medium

Face: 4 (like 1 but with larger eyes)

Hair: Long and shaggy, reddish pink

    Voice: Second (breathy)

    Asset: Speed

    Flaw: HP

Spouse: Chrom (Not logic-based at all; I liked him.)

    My most recent obsessive playthrough:

    Sex: Female

    Bulid: Smallest

    Face: I can't say I remember.

    Hair: Swishy, light pink

    Voice: First (highest pitch)

    Asset: Strength

    Flaw: Magic

    Future spouse: Gerome

I also enjoy male build 1, face 3, hair 4, and hair color 4. He looks like a sad, greasy man. I usually name him Lan and plan on marrying him to Nah.

  5. Hah! My having to constantly keep Chrom out of "trouble" led to my being indifferent towards him. Too bad I'm married to him on one file.

That said, he took to Olivia quite easily. I'm sure the pairing is like this because Chrom still needs a wife if you've killed off the other candidates, but not grinding with him left him underleveled at a few points in the game.

  6. [spoiler=Cyr's Quotes]Skill/Critical:

    "Goodbye."
    "Grrryah!"
    "I'll tear you apart!"
    "Time to go home."
    "To the future!"
    "Take this!"
    "Die!"

I want to make up some other quotes now.

"What are your dreams? Your goals in life? I want to live life to the fullest and pursue what I love."
"So, what do you do in your free time? I like to write stories. Sometimes, poetry."
"Want to fight with me?" "Of course! I'll keep you safe."

    Dual Guard:
    "Look out!"
    "Hey, be careful!"
    "Got to keep you safe."
    "Don't worry; I'll protect you!"

    Dual Strike:
    "Here's one of these!"
    "Nyahrgh!"
    "Hah!"
    "Aha!"
    "Coming from me now!"
    "[silence]"

    Marriage confession:
"My love for the world is too strong to go unheeded, and I want you to be part of that world."

    After battle:
    "[sigh]"
    "Finished."
    "Wait for me, you guys."
    "I had to do it."
    "What's wrong?"
"You don't exist in my world."

    Level up:
    "Woah!" (6-7)
    "Yeah, that's right. I'm the boss." (4-5)
    "Huh." (2-3)
    "Disappointing." (0-1)
    "Almost done." (most stats capped)

Class change: "Do you think I look silly in this?"

    Death:
    Verbal: "I can't... move..."
Text (classic): "Ungh. I'm sorry, everyone. I'll see you... in a dream...."
Text (casual): "I'm sorry. I'll have to sit this one out. Haha...."

  7. Do you have any idea as to final classes/skills you want on them?

Ah! That would be important, yes? I'm still deciding (Read: asking around due to my own laughable lack of experience with the series), though a few of them will be a Dark Flier at least once for Galeforce. I suppose that doesn't help.

I'm making Gerome into a Berserker. The others? I haven't any idea. I like Lucina having Falchion, but is Great Lord a good choice?

This pairing set was made with some of my desires and the help of a statistically-inclined friend, and we never discussed the final classes. I can go ahead and list the inherited skills, if it helps!

    [spoiler=Inherited Skills]Inigo: Galeforce, Rightful King

    Owain: Galeforce, Luna

    Yarne: Swordbreaker, Vantage

    Laurent: Tomefaire, Vantage

    Morgan: Galeforce, [undecided]

    Nah: Swordbreaker, Renewal

Severa: Galeforce, Astra/Vantage (undecided; probably Vantage)

    Cynthia: Galeforce, Counter

    Brady: Galeforce, Tomefaire

    Noire: Luna, Vantage

    Gerome: Axefaire, Renewal

    Kjelle: Swordfaire, Armsthrift

  8. All right. I'm getting Olivia!Lucina, Chrom!Inigo, Kellam!Nah, Lon'qu!Severa, Henry!Cynthia, Libra!Brady, Gaius!Noire, Vaike!Gerome, Donnel!Kjelle, Ricken!Owain, Stahl!Yarne, Gregor!Laurent, and Gerome!Morgan. (Forgive me if I've misspelled anyone's name; correction is welcome.) My asset is strength; my flaw is magic. I am not looking to replace any of these, though criticism and questions are welcome.

I'm wondering about a good way to pair up the remaining child units. I'm playing on Normal/Casual, so I suppose it doesn't matter, but I'll be using this set for a Hard run as well (With Nah!Morgan and +defense -magic instead), and then a Lunatic run once I get accustomed to the gameplay. Have you any ideas? I'm especially interested in why; a simple pairing won't convince me.

  9. I liked Chrom enough to marry him during my first playthrough, though I've settled down about him since them. Marrying him to Olivia was the catalyst for my indifference - I'd have to be so careful around him that I started not caring what he did. I forgot to use a Master Seal on him when he reached level 20. I have no idea when he did it; I just looked at him one day and saw he'd maxed out. Maybe I'm jealous of Olivia, now, even though I'm working on marrying Gerome and Nah?

The characters are a bit flat, at best. I long for deeper and better character designs - and better support conversations for the female avatar, especially with Chrom. However, I did get attached to a few - Libra and Panne and Morgan, for example. Chrom never made it. Awakening characters are like clichéd lumps in an interesting shell.

I did care about Chrom quite a bit during the first playthrough, now that I'm remembering more of it - I wanted my avatar to just reach out and hug him a few times, I remember. I was proud to be by his side. Now, I have other goals on my mind - like getting Cherche the skills I want her to pass so I can marry Gerome.

  10. I don't remember his other gifts, but he did find Roy's blade. I enjoyed watching him pace around the barracks.

In the optimized marriage set that I made with the help of a stat-conscious friend, Gerome (the future husband of my third file's avatar, as it happens!) gets Vaike as a father, Stahl marries Panne, and Frederick stays single. Cordelia marries Lon'qu. I hear it all depends on what you want, though. I'm glad I had someone to help me out. (For the cuteness of support dialogue factor, I like marrying Panne to Lon'qu and Libra to Nowi).

It makes sense for the royal guard to stay single, in my opinion.
