  1. Hey. I've been playing this a lot lately, especially with FE8, and I just wanted to give my impressions and a few tips.

    -If you randomize movement, don't put the minimum at one. You have no idea how annoying it is to have a 1 mov lord in a game where a lot of chapters involve seizing.

    -If you randomize weapon hit, do not put the minimum at 0. It just makes a lot of useless weapons.

    -If you put random weapon effects, whwnever attacking with a weapon, savestate right before attacking. You never know when the weapon wil have a devil effect.

    -If your randomized iron axe is really good, you might have difficulty recruiting Ross and Garcia.

    -If you randomize thieves, be ready to not be able to open a lot of important chests.

    -If you like arena abusing, and because of that are afraid of putting unique classes because monsters can't go to the arena, remember, Only monsters that use claws and bites can't go to the arena. Monsters that use weapons can.

    -Summoners are not actually useless in this game, because the phantoms can get more than one hp because of random growths and base stats. They won't get more than 0 defence and res though.

    -If your monster weapons suck, but your enemy's are great, remember you can steal them with the enemy control glitch.

    -I haven't seen any Gorgons or Cyclops yet. Do they replace promoted units and I've just gotten unlucky, or are they not in class rotation?

    This is a pretty fun tool. I'll play around with it some more.

    Just made it to chapter 9, enemy boss Binks got randomized to Cyclops, so it is possible for you to get it :D

    Uh nightmare is kind of hard to explain. Basicly It's an editor that allows you to change what class what a unit is ect. The only things you need to download from it are the GBA modules and Nightmare program. I don't know about any tutorials for it, I just kind of taught my self by using it alot :D

  3. that was a bug that i gave up on trying to trace down; i think that for some reason it thinks it needs to fill the inventory and just picks random items to do it with

    Ah I see. I usually just end up selling/deleting any stat boosters i get anyway :D

  4. For what people are saying about choosing a class for a unit, I don't really get it. If you wanted to do that you could just go into nightmare and change the unit your self right? Oh and cam since you seem to be here, why are stat boosters randomly handed out to units? Was it intentional or no?

  5. ¿Is there a way to select a specific class for a unit? I mean instead of randomizing it, I always get 2 - 4 archers, up to 3 bishops and 4 axe wielders -.-

    The reason I believe this is happening (please correct me if wrong cam) is due to the way promoted units are selected.

    Heres an example of how a cavalier(M) and paladin are choosen by the randomizer.

    the up_id leads to male cavalier and the pr_id stands for promoted id, which would lead to paladin if the unit that got randomized to this was a pre promote. Now thats fine and all, but how does this work in sacred stones with branching promotions and such? Well heres another ranomizer option:

    This one leads to as you can see, a cavalier(F) Now why you might ask, do we need to include a female class in the randomizer? Well what we are really looking at here os the pr_id, which leads to a great knight. This is how branching promitions are done through the randomizer. If a female class is selected for the randomizer, the optional promotion would be choosen for a pre promote. So technically, it's 2x more likely to get a class that includes a female variation, unlike classes such as fighter and thief. Archers have m and f variations and so on. This probably isn't correct and you might just have bad luck with randomization, but I also had a shit ton of archers the first time I played. With my addition of monster classes, there should be more variety in your randomizer :D
    Also now that I'm home, I'll now go work on a way to make a promotion item for monster classes and add promotion gains for them as well as make monster only weapons available via shop. Hopefully done by the end of the day! :D
  6. i've already stated i will only be offering rudimentary support and troubleshooting from this point; anything more than a minor bugfix

    (making an extension that isn't mine work does not count as a "minor bugfix") is off the table, unless someone wants to make their own modifications to this(this does mean, unfortunately, that i'm temporarily halting fe8 support entirely beyond the buggy functionality that's already there; this will be fully functional for version 2.0)

    Yeah I'm currently working on a patch that makes monster items buyable and a promotion item for them. It's my extension of your program so ill make the support and stuff.

    Sure wonder why they didn't replace.

    Perhaps I need to delete them first.

  8. I follows what you said to the letter already. I wouldn't be posting if I didn't.

    I can't check the file right now since I'm at school but I did check it before I left. Go in the job _slc.json with notepad and tell me the zombie classes and such are near the end of the list

  9. Doesn't work, randomized like 30 times, not a single monster so far.

    Did you replace the FE8 folder within the data folder? That's what makes monster classes be included due to my modifications in job_slc.json. The IPS patch itself is just a weapon level fix

    This patch makes monster classes available in the randomizer, but currently I don't believe there is a way to promote them. I had this lieing around so I thought I would put it out there despite not haiving promotions yet. I just havnt had the time with school and all. Also Klok If you will, update the link for fix patches on the first page. :D

    Alright instructions.

    Within the release folder that you get through the randomizer itself is a folder called "data". In the data folder is another folder called FE8, take the FE8 folder provided within my fix patch and drag into the data folder and copy and replace!

    With this, Monster classes and soldiers will be included in ranomziation and units won't randomly have the S rank legendary Dark tome!

  11. I'm afraid I haven't really tested any of the mobile emulators, although I can confirm that a patched rom will work on a Homebrewed Wii's emulator. This project is kinda on hold for a while, mostly because of university work and difficulties with reclaiming lost progress.

    The only working emulator is one that costs 5 bucks and the free version didn't allow me to save my game

  12. You can RAM dump with a physical copy, a digital copy, or a pirated copy. They all work.

    It works the same as you guys have been doing it? I have no idea where to even start if it works and all. I also don't want to risk all of my save files since i just beat lunatic + classic :D

  13. Everything was going awesome :Gilliam: was a theif and he was fucking amazing! but then Moulder became a Merc and the game got stuck whenever the attack animation came

    You didn't apply the fix patch lol
