We've seen a preview of this year's Choose Your Legends batch from the Feh Channel earlier, and that did show a lot, but now we have the actual trailer and the full look at everything they come with.

I forgot to mention this in the FEH Channel thread, but the line about Bernie "giving her allies paranoia to make them stronger" is hilarious. XD Looking forward to picking up Alfonse! I'm so happy for him. 🙂 Just his kit alone really marks his inclusiveness as the King of Askr.

I wonder if Sharena has any comment about an Alfonse dressed as her dad being her enemy while climbing the tree. Most stages pretend the summoned Heroes aren't even there, but Sharena ignoring this would be particularly striking. 

Also for the brave banner its cute to imagine Sharena, Annete, Male Morgan and Caspar all cheering the Braves on with pom pom, since all four have friends/loved ones who are excitable goofballs.

I don't think non-OC enemies are canon to the story anymore. In-universe everyone's just walking up the tree.

They already ignored the fact that they fought Brave Kvasir last year, the character who is the main antagonist appearing as a normal foe, so ignoring Brave Alfonse is not surprising too.

There was also Fallen Gustav randomly fighting for Letizia's Curse Directive back in Book VI. That one definitely went entirely unacknowledged by the characters as well.

Well, Felix didn't get either of his actual weapons. I was expecting Aegis at least. Still, seeing him as a Mortal Savant is pretty cool. Oh, but Bernadetta actually got the Inexhaustible. Should have been Leonie.

The GHB is Panette. Which means Merrin and Pandreo are almost certainly a lock for the Solm banner when it drips.

Huh. Panette is one of the weirdest choices they could have gone with. She certainly could fit comfortably on an actual Engage banner. But to pull from Engage at all is kind of needless given how relatively small its cast is and how few villains in particular it has for GHBs. Though I guess that's moot by pulling a playable character. If I were to pull from any Engage playable unit for a GHB I'd go Zelkov before Panette, someone who looks on theme and whom you actually fight at some point. Having a look at my charts it seems there's now 26 Engage PCs not in Heroes. With an expected 4 regular units per banner (about the only title that can expect not to get alts, at least for now) that puts them at 6 and a half more banners. Keeping Pannete playable could have stretched them to a seventh banner easily. Though I guess after we get Solm they probably will start repeating alts for Engage. And our remaining GHB candidates for Engage are Marni, Hyacinth and Griss (assuming Nil and Sombron would be mythics). Huh, maybe they went with wild card Panette specifically because anyone that makes sense from Engage would be limit further. We might see Zelkov yet as a GHB. Or, better yet, the parent characters that don't the focus they deserve (Morion in particular could fit as a GHB, though he might be more suited for a Fallen Banner). I was also completely certain we'd see a Solm banner next month which this decision has thrown a curve ball in. It's been seven months since the last Engage banner, which is the amount of time between the previous Engage banner and the one before it, so the time seemed ripe to finish off the four nations with Solm. Still not impossible, Panette is only Panette after all, but it makes me a little less certain. If not Engage then we can probably expect Fodlan or Binding Blade next month.

Going into this banner, Panette was the highest ranked missing (37th) character in CYL8......besides from Touma (29th). He got passed over yet again since it's pretty clear IS regrets putting TMS into FEH.

Since their inception in 2020, the CYL GHB is always a character who placed pretty high but isn't in FEH.

That's true now, but Ivy, Goldmary and Rosado were higher than Panette and weren't in the game as of the vote (I was going to say Hortensia too, but, somewhat surprisingly, Panette is actually higher than Horensia. I know a lot of people are put off by Hortensia's design sense looking like a clown...but that's also kind of true for Panette). And Goldmary is only in as a seasonal. Yunaka is also only in the game as a seasonal (and only just before the CYL vote), though I guess they know Yunaka is too saleable to throw away on a GHB. Mauvier would have been a good choice for CYL GHB,  but the February Engage banner absolutely would have been finalized before the January vote.

Both girls work. Leonie has her paralogue to get the thing, but Bernadetta is arguably more Indec's spirit animal given that she has his crest and is an introvert too. 

Or Bernie just punched Leonie in the stomach and stole her bow.

Well, my summoning tickets for this banner didn't give me any of the CYL units, so I used my guaranteed pull for Alfonse purely so I can have extra Breath of Life 4 fodder. Quite the change for me, since I generally always pick my free CYL unit based just on which character I like the most, and if I don't it's a decision I struggle with. Not so this year. I guess the game is just so broken and busted now that I feel like I actually need the BoL 4 fodder.

Voice actor spotting is less reliable with English ones than Japanese ones. Still I wonder if Pannette implies were getting more Arval in the future.  Epimenides/possessed Shez seems a lock for a future Fallen banner, and it be cute if Shez and Arval get a Halloween duo hero to follow in Byleth and Sothis' footsteps.

Well I managed to get 1 copy of everyone in 40 pulls plus the 2 free picks.  Robin and Bernie were from my pulls and I free picked Alphonse and Felix.  I even had a few orbs left over to save for the next Binding Blade banner which probably will be a big let down with no Elphin, but I need to be ready for the 1% chance of him being on it.  Felix will be my most used and it is nice to have a reliable E!Ike counter with Bernie.

Looking at this makes me very happy considering I only got Bernie and Felix for their skills too (Robin may also get axed while Bernie may be spared if she really is as good an E!Ike counter as the trailer made her seem).

Robin's epithet, "Exalt's Right Hand", is "聖王の懐刀" (seiō no futokorogatana), "The Exalt's Confidant". "懐刀" (futogorogatana), "confidant" or "right-hand man", literally means "a knife kept in one's breast pocket".

Exalt's Tactics is "聖王の参謀の術書" (seiō no sanbō no jutsusho), "Tactics Book of the Exalt's Advisor".

Divine Vein (Ice) is "天脈・氷" (tenmyaku: kōri), "Divine Vein: Ice".

According to Plan is "読み通りです！" (yomi-dōri desu!), "As I Expected!".

Creation Pulse is "開闢の鼓動" (kaibyaku no kodō), "Genesis Pulse".

Majestic Glitnir is "王斧グリトニル" (ōfu guritoniru), "King's Axe, Glitnir".

Makings of a King is "王器" (ōki), "Capacity of a King".

Great Talent is "大器" (taiki), "Great Talent".

Fortifications is "野戦築城" (yasen chikujō), "Battlefield Fortification".

Reopening is "一新" (isshin), "Renewal".

Panette's epithet, "Classy Brawler", is "御喧嘩上等" (o-kenka jōtō), "Up For a Fight". With refined diction. "喧嘩" (kenka), "fight" or "argument", is modified with the honorific "御" (o-) prefix, which is used in polite speech to elevate the status of something that is not (or not yet) one's own, such as a gift being received. "上等" (jōtō) used in this context is equivalent to "Bring it on" in response to a challenge.

Laeradr's epithet, "Quieting Heart", is "心の葬り手" (kokoro no hōmuri-te), "Silencing Hand of the Heart". As usual, "葬る" (hōmuru) means "to bury [a dead body]", but is also used to mean "to hush".

Quieting Branch is "心の葬り手の枝" (kokoro no hōmuri-te no eda), "Branches of the Silencing Hand of the Heart".
