_____
Pata Pata Pata Pon! Pon Pon Pata Pon! Chaka Chaka Pata Pon! Pon Pata Pon Pata! Don Don Don Don Don! Patapon is basically a fusion of a rhythm game, a God game, and a Real-Time tactics game. You create troops using materials such as Wood, Stone, and Alloy, and Ka-Ching, the "life-force" of the Patapon. You input commands using the face buttons and the Patapon repeat what you say. You then put in another command, and the cycle continues. Once you reach a chain of around 10 (normally), you go into Fever Mode, which enhances your Patapon's abilities, with each type of Patapon's specific traits becoming more dominant. Examples include Yumipon (archers) shooting 3 arrows instead of one, Yuripon (spear-throwers) jump and throw to increase their range, Tatepon (tanking based Patapon) have their shields grow and provide better protection, and Kibapon (cavalry) become faster, stronger, and able to charge at enemies and fling them backwards. Kibapon are pretty weak without Fever, though. Besides the 4 units I mentioned, there're also Dekapon (brutes who cause huge damage, but are slow) and Megapon (horn players). Your main objective is to reach IT, an unknown being which is said to cause eternal contentment in those who gaze upon it. Your main enemies are the Zigoton, who's scriptures state that if the Patapon were to reach IT, the world would end. In order to collect Ka-Ching and materials, you can either hunt (kill animals that appear in previous levels), or compete in a number of mini-games that can be accessed by replaying stages and killing enemies so that they drop the Patapon who competes in it. These're also rhythm based, and often have you repeating the patterns of animate mountains, trees, pots, etc. Discuss.
