Dr. Tarrasque
Avoid using prepromotes besides Sedgar and Wolf. Normal mode's piss easy, you don't need anymore advice.
Ike-Mike
Sedgar and Wolf to General or Hero. Cain or Abel to Myrmidon. Merric as a healer, then switch to Sage after promotion.
Dr. Tarrasque
Cain and Abel are better off as Cavaliers. BB, avoid 1 word posts >_>. Edited February 12, 2009 by Levin

luigi bros
Some good units are: Frey Barst Merric Marth (not that it's a choice) Rena Sedgar Tiki These are units I used so I can't comment on others. For classed I did: Frey:Cavalier Barst:Pirate Merric:Mage Marth:Lord Rena:Cleric Sedgar:Horseman but I think general is good if you want a high defense unit Tiki:Manakete
Dat Nick
Tiki did "good" suddenly become a euthanism for "below average"?
General Spoon
IMO, isn't stats not capping at 20 anymore just as big a change as the reclass thinga-maboober?
Dat Nick
quite, and thank goddess for that otherwise nobody would play H5 ever
Dr. Tarrasque
IMO, isn't stats not capping at 20 anymore just as big a change as the reclass thinga-maboober? Not in NM, enemies are still pathetic and the stat cap changes only help you. Doga for example, can solo everything that isn't chapters 15 and 23 with ease (those would require pure water and common sense) after promotion (at lvl 10). Medeus doesn't require much either. Dat Nick
true but you still need to factor in that his earlygame blows overall in NM since he can't double for beans
Dr. Tarrasque
truebut you still need to factor in that his earlygame blows overall in NM since he can't double for beans I'm not talking about how good Doga is, I'm talking about how piss easy NM is. Solos are only "difficult" during the early game >_>.
luigi bros
did "good" suddenly become a euthanism for "below average"? I'm guessing this is an opinion topic and for me Tiki was good.
Gemini-Saga
Using Est... Or if enjoy babying units(like me) use her...
Ike-Mike
The Gaiden characters except maybe Nagi aren't too hot either, so unless you are a completionist or want some variation you should avoid the Gaiden chapters.
Dat Nick
'm guessing this is an opinion topic no? The guy wanted to know who to use. Fact: Chiki isn't as good as a lot of the other units here. Or if enjoy babying units(like me) use her... wonderful too bad she sucks even when babied all the way to 20/1 The Gaiden characters except maybe Nagi aren't too hot either and Athena so unless you are a completionist or want some variation you should avoid the Gaiden chapters. or EXP for the units you're actually using Killing off the losers I don't have on my team doesn't matter a whole lot if I'm not going to use them in the first place, does it? Rodykitty
Avoid Class Swapping Sedgar and Wolf into Generals on H5 if you want a challenge. Also, I made this list for people that want to know who is good in the way THEY would use them. The tier list is about a different mind set, so this list will be far more useful for them: Here is my list of decent characters that aren't Sedgar/Wolf:- Marth - Cain - Abel - Freyr - Navarre - Caesar - Castor - Catria - Palla - Cord - Barst - Ogma - Merric - Matthis (makes a potential Archer if you need one, but can work in multiple classes with decent defense and strength growth) - Hardin - Athena - Rena - Darros (as Mercenary) - Vyland - Julian Here is a list of characters that are usable, but have glaring flaws that make them less attractive: - Draug - Shiida - Linde - Est - Radd - Wrys - Tiki - Gordin - Noin - Maria - Ricardo Here is a list of 'utility' characters that are decent for what they are worth: - Wendell - Jake/Beck - Xane - Bantu - Nagi - Gotoh - Wrys (yes, I list him in two different categories) - Horace (decent mid-game tank)

Dat Nick
better yet avoid wifi period since it sucks
Tamara
It's fun, as long as you put some thought in your team and find the right opponents. Yes, the online mode is limited compared to what Advance Wars has to offer, but it is a nice addition for the fans who want a challenge other than H5. Afterall, playing against a human is very different from playing against a computer.
slax
why the wifi hate? I love it, and as far as I can tell, everyone who's actually played it loves it too (playing hackers excluded) but as far as what not to do in this game, really, you can't go wrong, single player is very self-explanitory, or should I say, easy, and wifi is pretty exclusive right now since America doesn't have it, that'll be the big wifi test. Dat Nick
why the wifi hate? It's the definition of "shallow". Everybody's team is exactly the same: Maxed out stats with max brave weapons. Yawn. FE wasn't meant for Online. Tamara
Maxed out stats with max brave weapons. Yawn. That's were strategy comes in. Granted, some maps make the users rely on luck (map1, ugh...), but they got the basics right. What is lacking are more play modes and maps. BTW It isn't always the brave weapons one should worry about. A berserker with a max attack/max crit hand axe and is harder to take down than one with a brave axe. Dat Nick
That's were strategy comes in okay it's still boring as crap and proves FE wasn't made for online If they were going to make one FE online, it shouldn't have been this one. Seph
What strategy when everyone abuses forged Brave weapons, seriously? There is a lack of strategy. There's one choice for every team if they want to be truly good: Brave weapons. No diversity. Edited February 13, 2009 by Shanan
