Shadow Mir Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 How? Mega Alakazam has better base Sp. Attack, Defence and Speed than a normal Alakazam. Mega Alakazam gets Trace for its ability, which is situational compared to Magic Guard (which protects against any indirect damage), for one. Second, it may get more speed, but considering that priority is everywhere, that doesn't really help it much, now does it? Third, its Defense still isn't good enough for it to take any physical hit worth a damn. And while the Special Attack boost is nice, normal Alakazam can use Life Orb for a boost to its damage (and thanks to the aforementioned Magic Guard, it doesn't take the recoil damage), or it could use a Focus Sash to ensure it gets to hit something before dying.
