Well, it could survive one or two attacks in Skyla's gym, Brycen's gym, dunno(maybe, if you can find Iron Tail by then, forgot). In Burgh's gym, the Eviolite helps it a ton. And you have Panpour for Chili's Pansear. And in Drayden/Iris' gym, it should have Coil then. But you already said it's a good contender. Has a Togekiss.
