Elixirs generally aren't buyable until the end of the game... and 3k in gold is steep in the instances where that's not the case. @ MKS: Olivi Grass exists, you know. Above poster enjoys the forum games on this site. But that does nothing to ease the fact that cat gauge is shit (FFS, two attacks and a turn passing erase most of what olivi grass gives you!).
