Look at it this way: Jacob told Enjo that Momiji was in love. She may have expected Jacob to tell Enjo that she was in love with him. Or he could be really too late, I just don't want him to throw in the towel yet. No offense to this Jacob, of course, but I want her to end up with Enjo since he's my friend.
