It's a whole new world with people living inside buildings that look like eggs, colorful flowers, atop trees and inside some sanctuary underground. And the music is weird, sometimes very annoying. I know I hated the overworld music AND the overworld fighting music after a while You have two main characters, Chezni and Midia, typical JRPG teenager protagonists, and you meet lots of people from different races. You also get to hire mercenaries for your last two unit slots (sometimes you do get story-relevant characters) and they range from martial artists to dwarf miners, an insecure emo elf bitch, whatever-race-is-that brothers who do not leave each other, a robot, an undead, thieves, a circus performer and more. The main story is about Chezni accidently activating a weapon of mass destruction with a classmate. After that, typical walk the earth, meet people, do quests, etc. Magic works by using your HP. There's 8 elements, and you have to grind them kinda like in Secret of Mana, except it takes a shitload more time. Items are all writtten in abreviations which kinda gets irritating.
