He appears in a different time and place. As the room fully coalesces, he sees that he is in a small, domed chamber – similar to the Chronoplast room he just left, but built on a much smaller scale. The End, the Time Streamer, is there, leaning on his staff for support (as though feeble). The End *acting like a kindly sorcerer* ‘Where am I?’ is the usual question. In your case, ‘when?’ might be more apt. Soul recognizes The End, and knows how dangerous he is. He raises the wraith-blade in defense, but as he does so the orb on The End's staff glows brightly, and the blade sputters out and retracts, the wisps of wraith energy receding completely. Soul is momentarily alarmed, and now even more suspicious of The End's motives. Soul *alarmed; suspicious* Very well, you old snake – if you’d prefer I use my bare hands... Soul lunges at The End and grabs him by his scrawny neck, throwing him up against the wall. The End feigns surprise and fear for a moment – The End *feigned fearfulness* This is completely unexpected! This orb disables our vampire enemies, leaving them helpless and incapacitated. Strangely, it seems to have the same effect on that peculiar weapon of yours. But you must believe me - I mean you no harm. Soul *steely* You can drop the benevolent façade, The End. I know who – and what – you are. I should kill you where you stand... As Soul speaks, The End’s whole demeanor changes – he no longer appears to be an addled old magician. This The End is composed, confident, in control. The End *chuckles* Perhaps you should, my boy. But you don’t. Soul tightens his grip a bit on The End’s throat. Soul *icily* Are you so certain of that, The End? The End *completely unfazed* My role as Time Guardian affords me a certain level of omniscience, Soul. (pause) No, you don’t kill me. That honor belongs to your maker, Musashi, some thirty years from now. Soul releases him roughly. Soul *disgusted* Hmph. You two are a pair - you’re just as fatalistic as he is. The End laughs softly* Death comes for us all, Soul. It’s just matter of time. Completely composed, The End turns his back on Soul and moves toward the exit door Repost!
