We need to give the player a chance. And this chance will be based entirely on luck. Meaning that Failman doesn't die from everything, can actually beat bosses, etc.. But he'll just randomly die spontaneously. You'll be at full health and walking in an empty field and you'll just die suddenly out of pure randomness. And therefore, we'd need a 9th robot since Failman wouldn't work in the paper-rock-scisors scheme; his weapon would suck after all. I vote Failman for protagonist. Owata-like game.
