It's not odd looking at all otherwise. FE3 Player is right, though. You really shouldn't use a program as a crutch. You can skip 1 if you want, but 2 is required playing. I say play 1 as well because Ingram is in it, but the actual game doesn't even come close to 2's awesomeness.
