Pow blocks are blockable with wheelies when you time it directly when the Pow hits. You still lose your item, but you don't lose speed. Blue Shells I don't mind too much since I'm usually way up front, same for Thunderbolt. Being 1st most of the time grants me immunity to getting Thunderclouds. Alright I already see your problems. Your combination for character and bike actually sucks. King Boo is I believe one of the worst heavyweights, while the best is Funky. A little behind would be Bowser, Rosalina and Heavy Mii. If you're first you usually have a shield behind you, and Blue Shells/Lightning doesn't affect you much. Also, Wheelie with GC control? Up on the + pad IIRC.
