Kriemhild
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bug-Catching_Contest The two primary factors that determine the score in the contest are the sum of the Pokémon's stats, which can be estimated by its rarity and its level, and the amount of damage it sustained in the capture attempt. The higher the Pokémon's remaining hit points at time of capture, the higher the score. Other factors, even shininess, do not significantly affect the outcome. I think a Lv 15 Butterfree would have higher stats than a Lv 17 Metapod.

AstraLunaSol
Nobody's good in the FE4THREAD. *points to sig* I hear some people in this thread haven't played FE4. Out of this thread, I say. oh you were telling me to go play FE4? Do it. patches = bad :(. Not really. i'll wait for remakes, sorry FE4. Bad. Me and Hatari are little angels, we'd never do anything illegal. .....AHAHAHAHAAHA Baldo = Clueless Odo = FarmerPedo Hezul = Whore Noba = Devotion Dain = Incest Neir = GayManly Ulir = 2nd whore and damsel-in-distress Blagi = YaoiHelpless Fala = Maso Tordo = Suicide Sety = RapistPimp and Sadist and Genocide Narga = Brainwash Loptous = Delusion I think out of all of those, the only "good" one is Noba...but I'm pretty sure none of you mean it the way I am thinking. Nope, all is good except Lopt. WHAT IS THIS????? It's the truth. Edited March 24, 2010 by AstraSolLuna
Kriemhild
Shininess doesn't count? And you CAN'T keep the Pokemon? fffffffff ;; Nope, it doesn't. And iirc you CAN keep the Pokemon, but only the one you kept for the contest. Whatever you release, gets released.
Dr. Tarrasque
Current HP is taken into account, yes. Paralysis/sleep should help. That's ridiculous. I tried it on one of my attempts against a Lv14 Scyther. All 20 balls failed.

Dr. Tarrasque
RNG screwed It doesn't help that the Stone you get is at random and the only one I give a damn about is the Water stone to evolve a Staryu I'll soon catch into Starmie. Now if only this Rondo of Blood download would start and finish, my day would be complete (Cave Story, Fixed the Freezing in pokemon and a Castlevania I never played completely before in one day). I thought elemental (non-sun) stones were available as prizes only after the national dex? Or was that changed in the US version?

Wasn't there some Trainer that later gives you a Water Stone if you gave him/her your number?
Altera the Hun
Turns out the boss from Sector Y in Star Fox was based on the RX-78-2. In other words, the original Gundam. A Char Custom apparently appears in the stage too. And is actually faster than a normal mech enemy.
Dr. Tarrasque
Wasn't there some Trainer that later gives you a Water Stone if you gave him/her your number? That's the plan, though TE says he never got a stone from any of the phone people.
