Emulation allowed me to play quite a few games I always wanted but couldn't find (actually, just Shinobi 3 and Phantasy Star 4). It's beautiful, even though it's obviously worse than playing through an actual console. I never got to play Shinobi. Never found it to rent as well. I had Shinobi and Shadow Dancer for SMS (SMS's Shadow Dancer was hellishly difficult, fuck those one hit point wonders with bad controls), and was able to rent Alex Kidd in Shinobi World for SMS and Shadow Dancer for MD. I saw Shinobi 3 in a magazine, but never managed to see it live. It's a good game. Usually Golden Axe and other 2-players got priority. Holy fuck MD was cool. There's a difference between difficult and ridiculous. Try getting Indiana Jones or Shadow Dancer for SMS and you'll see. And I had both games, orz Earthworm Jim was awesome.
