Lux Aeterna
... Just, I seem to be finding both kinds on the same page.
TheEnd
... Go away. Epitome of stupid question: Hiragana and Katakana aren't used together, right? In the same word, usually not. Hiragana is used for Japanese words. Katakana is used for foreign ones. (That's a rule of thumb. For instance, I've seen katakana used as ALLCAPS - like in Julius's rant.) There are some characters that are similar in katakana and hiragana though. Notably ka and he. Edited April 10, 2010 by TheEnd

AstraLunaSol
If you're refering to the one that's one square up and three squares to the right of Manfloy that's Ethlin. Oh, wow. I'm going to die. Whoa, really? That's awesome. And she gains Astra? That's so... Very... Awesome... Dancers+Inflation=H4X .....Astra, episode 98 Rant. [spoiler=LoGH]Reuental = Sad death :< I know, I'll be moving at a slower pace now. But I still can beat Enjo. Yuria =3 .....
Rei Rei
[spoiler=LoGH]Reuental = Sad death Best episode in the entire series. It could end there and I still would be satisfied.
Roxas
Ah, so... I can find Hiragana and Katakana on the same page? Yes? Say you have a guide for Kingdom Hearts II. It has a regular sentence in hiragana that uses the word ロクサス somewhere. Then, of course.

Lux Aeterna
Or even in the same sentence. But never in the same word... right? And I'm finding symbols that aren't on the chart...

TheEnd
But never in the same word... right? And I'm finding symbols that aren't on the chart... That's because there are also the ideograms, aka kanji. They're characters that have meaning by themselves instead of sounds. As rule of thumb, they look more complex than hiragana and katakana. (Obviously, I'm not asking you to learn those.) Let's take your Sylvia screenshot, for instance. The four values at top-right are kanji only, as are most of the stats. However, the equips themselves are mostly in katakana and hiragana. Reipia (rapier) Rosario Zantetsu ken (that "ken" is the kanji for "sword", one of the few they actually use in equipment naming) Likewise, the class and character names are in katakana as well (Shiruvia / So-do dansa-). Balcerzak
But never in the same word... right? And I'm finding symbols that aren't on the chart... There is probably a rare exception out there somewhere, but as a general rule of thumb, that works splendidly. You mean how they snatched the kanji from China and their women came up with kana?
Lux Aeterna
Facepalming, because I noticed I forgot the symbols at the top that are one letter, answering a lot... I decided to try my hand at writing my name in Japanese, and since the name itself isn't Japanese, I went with Katakana, as well as Kanji since Katakana didn't have "va". エ(ヷ)ン How's that?
Hatari
No, the Bon Jovi one. Search for it Don't wanna... You mean how they snatched the kanji from China and their women came up with kana? Indeed...Korea did something similar...stealing from China that is. Women's history is really interesting as well. I find it interesting, how during the Japanese annexation of Korea from 1910 - 1945, the Japanese tried to stomp out Korean Culture...forgetting that Korea was the channel though which Chinese learning came from in the beginning XD. Out of the three Asian powers, Korea is the least known I think.
