He's whipped by Greyfield and Lin proves that Greyfield's a coward.

Davis is a bigger coward than Greyfield though.

Chapter 19 transcript (in part):

...

Davis: I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die!

I always sided with the winning team!

I did my best to protect myself!

But look at me now! LOOK AT ME!

Will: Davis?!

Davis: There's no hope for me now!

I've seen what the Green Thumb does to people! I've seen the flowers!

I got the mark, man! I got the... mark!

Will: Wait! What mark?!

Davis: I saw it! With my own eyes!

Once the mark appears on your flesh, the flowers start to blossom.

They're gonna burst, man! Gonna burst right outta me!

Will: Davis! Calm down! We're here to help you!

Davis: I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die!

Dontwannadiedontwannadiedontwannadiedontwannadie GYYAYAAGGHHAA!

(Transcribed right out of the USA version. Punctuation, syntax, and spelling is exact.)

In other words, he's a cowardly soldier who's deathly afraid of death.

Alright alright.

After this sprite.

Incidentally- you live in Canada, right? Which translation did you get?

...Basically, do you live in Rubinelle or Laurentia and are the bandits led by The Beast or Drakov?

Hm. He's given a somewhat more sympathetic light in the Shiida translation. He gibbered less.

But seriously; it's after the apocalypse, you have a terminal disease, and you're just a disposable ancillary character. What would YOU do?

...Yeah, well, I'm probably confusing mission levels with Dual Strike (coincidental acronym, yeah, totally). You know the mission I mean? ...he tells you to ... either build certain units, give units to his army (which sits there and does nothing/contributes negatively) or move places, I forget which...anyway, he's a thorn in your side.

Ah right, he forces you not to use whatever unit's helping you the most during the mission. Mission 13. That's early on after Brenner starting taking orders from Greyfield since he has higher authority but at least they had the balls to disobey the tyrant after Mission 14. Davis... meh.

That far.

Rubinelle, The Beast.

US translation. The Big Damn Hero isn't Irish, and instead of Cole the Woobie you get Davis the YMMV.

That's why you have to focus on using three primary types of units. So you're never hurt too badly by the handicap.

But Brenner had a CMoA when he finally ditched Greyfield to save the Lazurians. And I throughly enjoyed kicking Greyfield's sorry behind into dust. Only Caulder's death did I enjoy more.

Yeah, that's it. I played up until Cartsyth's mission (what a cameo!) and then didn't play for like five months, so I kinda forgot...the plot. What I remembered can be summed up like this.

1: Bikes are cool.

2: LG Irish dude is cool.

3: Everyone's dead because of flowers.

4: Fat purple guy's an asshole.

Don't forget:

5: When someone is doing stuff 'FOR SCIENCE!!!' and his catchphrase is 'FASCINATING!!!', you're dealing with a bona fide Complete Monster.

Dude, the moment a scary semi-albino guy comes on stage left and kills the hairy dude for no reason, you know he's a Card Carrying Villain.

Oh, yeah. O'Brian's *no clickski, ALS*

death

gives me hope that Lin may also

die

I mean, I like her, but ... it's about time to

Kill 'Em All

ain't it? And she is kinda

infected

.

Anyway, now that I've unintentionally unveiled a major plot point, I'd just like to say that I'm only up to ... the mission...where, there's like...Faylon...and some planes...and they're attacking....like, all my dudes...and anti-airs rock.

Kinda too apathetic about it to continue. In the meantime, I'm finishing DS.

Best thing about Days of Conflict? Being a complete hypocrite in game.

"What? These evil people, sacrificing their guys! Now to put this Infantry in the middle of nowhere to draw out the flood of tanks!"

Overall, the Greater Good is much worse than For Science.

Few strategies beat the well positioned mech spam.

Well, at least there is no longer a Nell to make Infantry kill Megatanks with their machineguns.

I think there shoulda been something more than "INCREDIBLE!!!" to describe machineguns beating Mega or Neotanks. It should be called "WHAT THE FUCK MAN"
