First of all, they troll us with a bunch of broken earlygame units (See: Eyvel, the woman that literally, can't die. Dadga is full of himself. Same with Othin. And then there's Halvan and his proclaimed Hero Axe) Second, they give us staff users that can DOUBLE HEAL. And even though they can miss, it won't be often. 'Nuff said. FE4 has Lakche of the Overkill who's not afraid of anything not named sleep staves and laughs at everything else. FE5 just has annoying RNG. :< @Fayt: You win there with the RNG screwage. Eirika has always been kind to me with her STR. It's the first time her DEF got so bad (5 naturally). Usually she turns out average or better in that for me, too. Full charisma+lover+Celice nets Shanan a full 100 hit on Arion. Or at least it did for Lakche. But if there is one thing that Shanan won't lose to Lakche in for raw stats, it's SKL.
